  • lol... Si gung kwok is the man ")

and extra LOL at that dafty muay LOL

  • este video no es nada bueno pues se pasa todo el tiempo hablando

  • si leiste el titulo bien, no es para ensenar algo pero no mas a mirar que no todo es para peliar, pero tambien a divertirse tambien

  • Samuel Kwok is a great guy and a powerful master with deep understanding in martial arts.

  • Sam is pretty cool.....can't say the same for some of his company though

  • sam should talk to leung ting about wing chun, he would be far better and about 100 times better and more technical if he used the leung ting system. Leung ting has the correct way of doing wing chun, no one else.

  • Leung Ting? The guy who learned from a student of a student of Ip Man and then shiestered his way to stardom...LOL

  • You must be mad. Leung Ting suck balls big time, and that's as technical as I'm gonna get with a man who knows as little as you do about Wing Chun.

  • I am sure you meant to say William Cheung, I mean Gary Lam, I mean Alan Lee I mean Francis Fong....you are rediculous. No one else...ha!

  • why are these blokes asking such absurd question about hands being down??? they no the answer, why are they asking this??? they are asking something they already no, yet there trying to dig into the wing chun system for answers, which they will not find!!!! untangle, untangle. when the answer is out side this system

  • This is so disorganized dispair, its quiet simple, you just keep untangling your mystry to the wing chun system, one you will wake up when you have been smacked in the mouth deceptively. your just aggrogant to it. wake up.

  • brandonirvin, do a test, get someone to stand infornt of you, hands both down at sides, now one of you just touch anywere on the top part of the body, you will tocuh him before he can relise were oyu have touched him. you berk, you need training, it makes you faster, and it science, you need to start educating yourself instead of listen to so called masters. who no nothing about real fighting or self defense. you just another stastic to a masters bank account. you igorance shows.

  • lame.

  • You dont understand shit unless u were there, i was there u dont "need" weight training.

  • load of shit, you need weight training, its all part of it. so novice. who fires first counts. standing in a dick stance, wrong, its a mess, people just like the tradition, it all wrong

  • I wouldn't say you "need" weight training...body weight exercises are perfectly fine and more than sufficient to build the kind of strength for fighting. Sure, how "fires" first is important...but also, how and what you fire with. If you fire with the wrong weapon, you might just end up paying for it against the right kind of opponent ;)

A "dick stance"? Care to elaborate?

  • weight training isnt per say important. But of course it is important to have your body in a decent state to make the best use of it.

Bruce Lee used to say that people spent far too much time focusing on techniques, and no where near enough time taking care f their instrument.

Sifu said he enjoyed this seminar very much :)

  • I enjoyed training with Master Kwok privately and at the seminar as well ;)

    Tell him hello

  • rg so who is your trainer now?

  • nobody right now. Am talking to some instructors under Ip Ching and making plans to meet sometime.

  • when i real fight comes, yuo no what i mean, i think people dont see the light, a real fight, has nothing to do with ufc, wt, bjj, boxing, nothing, its about having an open mind and really letting go, and you better hope you train your punches and kicks from all angles, everything, weight training, strenghing, confidence, flexability, simple is best, there are many types of thugs, big, tall, strong, powerfull, skillfull, street fighters, etc so you better not be rigid when it comes to action

  • well I would disagree with the weight training and strength conditioning unless you plan to beat a guy with push ups or something. I think there is a certain skill set that can give a person an advantage in self defense situations. Usually, reliance on strength is compensation for poor technique or the lack thereof which explain why smalled skilled fighters can and have defeated much larger opponents.

As per being rigid, Wing Chun relies on relaxation and fluidity for maximum effectiveness ;)

  • i train my punches and kicks, but iam not set in them, i dont have a rigid plan, i just act, from what i have learned, if i have to punch, grap, pull hair, be dirty, whatever i will. whether it be boxing, low kicking, anyhting, i dont set anythign in stone, because i have had real punch up in pubs, st etc, and all this wing chun theory, boxing thoery, kickboxing theory, all style theory goes out te window, you just want ot save your life, so anything goes.

  • actually, Master Kwok says the same thing later in the seminar and even pulls a guys hair and wing chun is not based on set techniques either....there plenty of people who have used in bars and pubs and completely rely on it

  • well, non telegraphic punch WILL NOT, be stop by any block, and in a street fight, non telegraphic punching is the best option, forget about styles, street is most important, theory is bollocks, wing chun is bollocks, all styles are bollocks, just wait till you have to defend your self, then you will no what is and isn't. as for blocking, its shit, you have no time, you must hit first, if possible, if being punched , you must use evasion, slip, pullaway, etc. forget about all this style theory,

  • completely true and not even in question here. In fact, an ambush is one of the best kinds of attacks to launch if you are going to do so. Bug if you are on the recieving end, you need to have some sort of tactical response (not a set movement, but some principles that may help you). This is just one way of handling a situation described.

  • I agree 100% with this.

Attack the attacker in a more aggressive and more direct way!

  • yes!!! "Counter Offensive" vs. Defensive. "Become the Hunter"!!! "My turn!!!" "Suck my Unit!!!"....oh, thats from Tropic Thunder...you know what I meant!!! LOL

  • Errr....can someone move the camera to a better location?

  • post some fighting vids i want some fighting vids!!!

  • Should they be even trying to block the punch? Looks like chasing the hands to me, they should be countering the punch by attacking the attack, using the shortest, most direct route. Sam should know this, being a master and all. Two words: snake oil.

  • haterade!!! LOL If you listen that is exactly what he is saying...bringing up the pak sao to the center and then extending it out would take too long. Simply raising the Bong Sao is the shortest, most direct route in such a close situation.

  • NO. The bong sau shouldn't be raised like that in the first place, it's much more economical to simple hit the person using the more direct line. If the person is attacking your face, it's "out of range" for the bong sau to work. If anything, it should cover the chest area inconjuction with a strike (think qwan sau), that way you're attacking the attack - the bong sau clears the way for a strike, using footwork to allign to strike - none of this blocking stuff.

  • I do not disagree with your idea of attacking the person, but I'm not gonna say that there is only one infallible way of handling the situation. If you note the explanation, he asks what the form tells you about how bong sao was to be applied. Also, It sounds like your idea of the bong sao is "I must be forced into bong sao" which I don't entirely agree with. Bong sao has many applications. The dummy even shows us to use it from an already extended position(at least the way Ip Ching explains)

  • You're always forced into bong sau, it's a reaction that's triggered when your arm is pulled, or your strike can't reach the target (different situations trigger different ways of getting to the person). You need to keep in mind that by trying to make contact with the opponents arm using a bong sau is already starting to chase the hands - don't get caught up with the chi sau tricks Sam seems to show everyone!

  • I'm not a grandstudent of Master Kwok anymore and I'm not into the chi sao tricks. Chi Sao is for fighting, not playing games ;) I think we can both agree with that. I think there is wisdom in what Master Kwok is saying here for a SPECIFIC SITUATION-like when you're too close to bring up the pak sao to the center, let the bong sao pick it up. If you bring the bong up on a lap, that is a dam bong sao and only works against a weak lap sao it would seem. A good Ip Ching one will bring the arm down
