Heavy was a class act from the old school, didn't swear, curse or disrespect women, unlike today's rappers. It was a lot of fun when he'd appear on Arsenio back in the day!
Great performance! If you listen to the lyrics.... Women were referred to as cutie pies not hoes or bitches! He was looking for a commitment not a one night stand!RIP
I was 8 years old when my mom bought me this single on tape after watching this performance. I'll never forget her saying, "That Heavy guy has some moves!" lol! I know Heavy is somewhere in heaven tearing the dance floor up! Thanx for uploading and R.I.P. to a true legend!
Man, this just touched me...a great performance by one of the BEST in the Hip Hop game. Great voice, presence, originality, breath control, crowd connection. I miss those aspects of Hip Hop performances. RIP Heavy D.
The world is gonn miss this man. There are no artist like this any more. I can see Heavy D walking up to the pearly gates and proclaiming, "The overweight lover is in the house"!!!! Peace Out D, mo diddly, diddly, diddly D!!!
He obviously learned the craft in the old school. Showmanship and swagger. Dude was one of a kind. Timeless and classy. There will never, ever be another Heavy D. EVER! PERIOD.
RIP to Heavy, Heavy, Heavy D, the Overweight Luver.....Go Heavy, Go Heavy, Go Heavy.....Rest on and may God be with his family and friends in their lost.
Heavy knew how to move a dam crowd he was one smooth cat.!! that brought that feel good music-- when we lose somebody from that era it's extra sad one for the loss of the person and two it brings us back to the music of that era when most of the music was actually great music and then we remember how most of the music now sucks......
R I P HEAVY D!!!! YOU NEVER SAID A CURSE WORD AND YET WE PARTIED TO YOUR MUSIC LIKE NOBODYS BUSINESS ! YOU EVEN HAD THE "THUGS" NEW JACK SWINGIN" GOD BLESS AND WE WILL MISS YOU!!!!! LOVE ALWAYS DJ BAM BAM
@TamekaGilliam Yup, and the lyrics had REAL (non-violent and not *too* sexually explicite) meanings and, many cases, were downright humorous and good-natured fun (e.g. Fresh Prince's "Parents Just Don't Understand" and "Summertime," just to name two).
i was born in 89` but i remember in living color and arsenio. its ashame what ppl did to those shows and keenan and arsenio work so hard to build both of them
