Chapter 1 : An Intact Woman : “You don't need a hysterectomy. It can do you more harm than good. /// Those are strong words, but the fact is that more than 90 percent of hysterectomies are unnecessary. Worse, the surgery can have long-lasting physical, emotional, and sexual consequences that may undermine your health and well-being...” Fr. "The Hysterectomy Hoax" (1994) by Stanley West, M.D. with Paula Dranov
love when after she talks about the pillow he says "Crazy kid" lol
This is bad but it's also classy in its badness. While from a technical point of view its certainly the worst in terms of vision and entertainment it just isn't bad to me...it's fun to watch
This film is completely appalling in every single aspect... people is free to give cult to cow poopoo, Ed Wood or whatever they see fit but even for an old, low-budget film it is terrible.
Ed Wood was a far superior artiste and visionary than cheap, two-bit hucksters like Fellini, Bergman, Scorcese, Welles, Lean, Hawks, Hitchcock, Kubrick, Coppola, Tarantino or Spielberg. And if you fail to realize that.......then it's your stupid minds....stupid! stupid!
I love the scene in ed wood where he creates a story just by looking at the stock footage, to be in honest there is a certain kind of genius in how completely terrible he was.
I was watching this movie with a friend of mine and he was very upset about the fact the aliens used a pen. "how fake the're using pens and paper. This is so fake." He was so upset. "Aliens would not have pens, this is so fake."
Is anyone interested to make "Plan 10 from outer space"?
I need a bad script writer with a crazy idea, bad actors, bad special effects and uniforms that don't fit.
Can you help me with that?
My idea is that aliens begin to infiltrate Hollywood and the film industry to manipulate casting shows and action movies to make mankind tired of violence and politicians.
But of course, in they end they only get more violence and politicans begin to currupt their own world and they destroy the universe.
You can't really see it on this rendering due to the compressed video quality, but I love the wrinkles on the lower half of the "sky" backdrop at 1:05. I always want to take a steamer to the darned thing and smooth them out so it doesn't look quite so silly. I always look for it. Anyway, this movie is an old favorite.
Movie was produced and released in '56, which was just after Vietnam officially began - in '55. And fighting, though not US troops, had began before that. So...not exactly right, it was after the start of the war.
But, I think, actually, that the footage is stock of weapons testing or demonstrations. Not war footage at all.
That's a construction-site flashlight and a regulated power supply on a wooden table, all three items look like snatched from some garbage pile, that make up the flying hubcap's cockpit. If they knew how computers will look like in the late 1970s...but if they only could afford a typewriter...:-) I ask myself how the film would have looked like if they had had more cardboard... X-D
I think the acting is bad, but the story and writing are pretty interesting given the context of time. It makes me wonder what a revised version would be like if you took what was strong and corrected the weak parts....hmmmm
The scenes with Bela Lugosi in them were not actually shot for this film at all, but Ed wrote them into the script both in dedication to the man's memory, and also for the "star value" of his name in the credits.
And for all the critics... yeah, we know how bad the movie is. You can criticize everything about it left & right. Aliens who don't look like aliens & who use ink pens. Curtains for doors on the space ships. LOL
But that's what makes it appealing to some of us. It's humorous.
The story sucks. The dialog sucks. The cameramovement sucks. The special effects suck. The acting sucks. The decors suck. Man, I can go on like this all day. Still enjoyable to see, though.
i love it

Man this is awesome. You can hear that realistic rushing of air in space at around 3:47.
Details like this you don't even get in today's big budget films! Ed Wood you were a beautiful bastard.
