The people of Louisville are weird. They say that it's a great town, but for what? The stupid Derby? The Thunder? The Cards? Kentucky Kingdom? Are these things to be proud of? Wow, my city has the world's greatest fireworks display!

What I found when I lived in Louisville is that you belong to three groups, One is the Church Group, Two is the Sports Group, and Three is the Chronic Drunk Group. Every city has its own ghetto including Indy, Cincy, Chicago, Columbus, etc. Louisville is a special exception that about half of its county is truly a dump. The western side of Bardstown Rd is a major league turd that goes all the way to the Ohio River. By the way, I lived both in SW Louisville and then Eastern Louisville which was nicer but still a hick city.

For those who have never been there...GO. It is a great city, great waterfront park, 4th street live, the Center for the Arts right across the street from the Humana building on 6th street, the Highlands clubs and restaurants out on Bardstown Rd...just nice, and some great old historic architecture and homes (Frankfort Ave and Clifton as nice as any city to live in). I could go on and on, but it is as nice as any bit city, but more hometown feel. Louisville has all you will need...:-)

The libraries are generally dumps, no real art scene other than a podunk JB Speed Art Museum, no other museums other than that joke Ali Center

What I found when I lived in Louisville is that you belong to three groups, One is the Church Group, Two is the Sports Group, and Three is the Chronic Drunk Group. None of these people have intelligence or intellectual stimulation. Explains a lot of why Louisville ranks at the bottom of 17 cities around the same size as Louisville.

Every city has its own ghetto including Indy, Cincy, Chicago, Columbus, etc. Louisville is a special exception that about half of its county is truly a dump. The western side of Bardstown Rd is a major league turd that goes all the way to the Ohio River. By the way, I lived both in SW Louisville and then Eastern Louisville which was nicer but still a hick city.

Louisville is s turd of a city. The West End and Shively is a major league area of turds and you can add most anything on Dixie Hwy other than some nice places off Dixie farther south. Severely overrated, too much government, and rudest people I've ever encountered on a day to day basis. Even backwards country towns in Indiana have more charm and thats saying something. People are seriously messed up overall with high amount of self importance. Living there gave me this attitude, it truly sucks

Louisville, A Great City, LOL. That's funny. Most of it outside of the East End, Highlands, Fern Creek, etc has become a total shit hole. I lived there for three years and I was glad to get the hell out of the city and the state of Kentucky or as you call it Commonwealth.
Once you get west of Breckinridge Lane it starts going to hell. Newburg Road area south of the Watterson is a dump and so is Poplar Level and Newburg areas. Taylor Blvd and the area between Churchill and Iroquois Park too

For those who have never been there...GO. It is a great city, great waterfront park, 4th street live, the Center for the Arts right across the street from the Humana building on 6th street, the Highlands clubs and restaurants out on Bardstown Rd...just nice, and some great old historic architecture and homes (Frankfort Ave and Clifton as nice as any city to live in). I could go on and on, but it is as nice as any bit city, but more hometown feel. Louisville has all you will need...:-)

As a Midwesterner that got transplanted to the South by job transfer and got the hell out recently its not a Midwestern state. Yea, I have twice. It's a redneck shit hole. Kentucky is one of the poorest states. Everybody there had nasty twang in their voice. I went to bardstown road and it sucks. Louisville is a tiny fucking city.

I've lived in Chicago, San Francisco, and NYC. Louisville is not white trash. In fact, the people there are so incredibly nice it is ridiculous when compared to any other large city.
Chicago is great, NYC is full of total assholes, and San Francisco is nice, but the people think that they are better than the rest of the world.

Because Humana is a fortune 100 company located in Louisville. Been to San Diego and it is nice. As for Hamburg...you mean in Germany? Because I have (as well as most other people) have even heard of a Hamburg in the US.
Also, how does being born and raised in Chicago make me a redneck? I am not from Louisville, I just lived there after college for 3 years. I would gladly go back too.

I wasn't raised that way and even listening to a lot of the native East Enders was a laugh. Talk about uneducated people wearing suits. fern creeks a little far. My uncle lives in the highlands and he doesn't have a lot of problems with theft or neighbors. I love Louisville a lot! 3rd favorite place in the world. My first favorite place is san Francisco and my second is santa cruz
