There is a slit that you tuck the tip in. just but your finger in the slit, open it, and push the tip of the spiky triangle into it, dont jam it in, make sure it kind of stops at a fold, i dont know if i explained it that well though hehe.

dude is this like photo shoped because i have folding paper which is extra thin and at 3:05 it doesnt fold without ripping and i tried 5 different pieces of paper and none worked.

It's supposed to be like that, remember that you're making a round-like star from a square paper, the lower 4 parts will stay as they are, they won't connect to each other.
