How is it that you can have one delay station going and play over it with another one? Great video by the way. And what effects are you using? could you give me the names of them please?
its actually an mxr 1500. the same digital delay eric used into his dumble amp that did this effect. i had two of them. they are very rare and i sold them for 500 a piece. wish i still had them!!
One humble opinion. Buy a footswitch that does not click. I went through the same thing, it makes a big difference. That is just an equip deal. Your playing is great.
I have been watching your vids and I noticed that you have your own way of doing things. Its cool when you see how some people devlope differant ways of bending and using vibrato. keep up the great work man.
each chord has only 3 notes...leave the octave of the chord out to give it a more "airy" sound. the a major 6 is just the root, major 6, major 3rd. hopefully this isnt too confusing. if people are interested i could do a video lesson of some of the stuff in that outro piece
b, c#m, e, a9 (just root, 5th, 9th), b (with an e in the top...hold the chord)...go up an octave...b, a, e (1st inversion, with the 3rd in the base), f#m, e, amaj6...then up an octave again...b, a, e (a different inversion...eric played it a bit different in the vid, but i couldnt remember how off the top of my head).
eric johnson strat, mxr 1500 digital delay, electro harmonix memory man through a johnson millennium jm250 in this clip. i have an echoplex which sounds much better but the solid state amp doesnt do it justice, so i chose not to use it. if youre looking for ej's clean tone, youve gotta get a tape delay!
i use a different channel of the amp with a bk butler tube driver (the one with the bias knob, although the bias is all the way +). the delay is the amp's digital delay run in stereo.
no, honestly you cant. its one thing if its just not in your budget, but if you can swing it, buying higher end gear will make a ton of difference (hence the reason professionals do). of course your amp will affect the sound more than anything else.
Great job. Where's the rest?

if you couldnt tell, i basically bought all of ej's gear that i could afford haha. doesnt really sound like him, but the equipment is pretty solid
tritonefascination 4 years ago
ha, thats what id like to do lol. i was considering buying another multi fx(like the gt8) but it seems you cant compare to it to the real stuff.
