Zakk gets royalties on every unit sold for his performance on Ozzy's albums, the same as Kerlsake and Daisley did. Overdub those performances and he only gets royalties for his songwriting. Zakk wasn't working in the capacity of a session musician getting paid for play he had a contract with Ozzy that reflected royalty sales.

The Osbournes did so that they would no longer have to honour the royalty contracts that they had entered into with those players, the same contract that they are bound to with Zakk and the kind of contract that they no longer enter into with musicians to secure their millions.
I saw the agreement that Mike Borden entered into to rerecord the drum tracks. It was a fair chunk of change for a session but nothing compared to what royalties over years from a consistently selling album would have garnered him, and nothing like the royalties that Kerlsake and Daisley had been pulling in all these years.
The only thing stopping the Osbournes from doing the same to Zakk is the fallout with the fans that they got from doing it to other musicians

Can`t stand BLS noise sound, when Zakk develpoed that style of his from Ozzmosis. I liked it when I was little but it is too simpleminded to return to. I cannot stand the nonsense music of like BLS and Rob Zombie blah blah blah. Jeff Hannemann`s older songs are much better. He quit using these in 2005, after he was diagnosed with the disorders mentioned above. Now he must take "special" pills and meds for the rest of his life because of those disorders.

Really? The best Ozzy albums were before Zakk, Diary and Blizzard plus the first six Sabbath albums. If you even think that any of Zakk's album's are better than any of those than you have no true taste for music. Ozzmosis, Down to Earth, and Black Rain were overproduced, No More Tears was too commercial, and No Rest For the Wicked was an amazing album, but Zakk is no where near the musician that Randy Rhoads and Tony Iommi are/were, although Zakk is also very influential.

Ozzy and Zakk are both awesome people. This is just one of the very few splits where both artists involved still have a high mutual respect for each other. I would personally like to thank Ozzy and Zakk for all the kick ass music they released for us mere fans. I'll be listening to it for many more years.

Ozzy is so successful that Ozzy can do fine without Sharon's management. Ozzy Osbourne's name alone makes him money. The bands Black Sabbath, Ozzy, and all the guitarist that Ozzy has had to share the stage with. The metal community will always support OZZY.
And I DONT listen to his music anymore. I was never HUGE fan of sabbath back when they were cool either, but they were great at what they did, and there were awesome live, as was Ozzy back in the 80's.
But, like most bad boys from this time, when he was drinking and taking drugs, and going crazy, this was his best time for songwriting and performing.
Its the same for most any acts like that, including motley crue, hendrix, beatles, doors, joplin, stones. All of them were better stoned.

I used to really like Ozzy, back when he was rocking with Randy and with Zakk. But now he sucks balls! @metemi Ozzy always had dyslexia. He also has bipolar disorder and the Parkin Syndrome (-> his tremors). Ozzy quit using very hard stuff like cocaine and heroin around '91, but he gave into other "drugs": prescription drugs, such as rohypnol, morphine, vicodine, klonopin... and he also used to drink and smoke dope. He quit using these in 2005, after he was diagnosed with the disorders mentioned above. Now he must take "special" pills and meds for the rest of his life because of those disorders.

@metemi So it's kinda evident why his speech is kinda fucked-up. This guy was fucked up on prescription drugs throughout the 90s and a couple of years in the new millennium, instead of coke, heroin, acid, shrooms, meth or other things like that. He was also struggling to quit drinking alcohol, though he wasn't that much of a drunk as he was in the 70s and 80s. Now it's even more sad, cos he must take other shit for the rest of his life.So, he will never ever win the battle against substances.

Really? The best Ozzy albums were before Zakk, Diary and Blizzard plus the first six Sabbath albums. If you even think that any of Zakk's album's are better than any of those than you have no true taste for music. Ozzmosis, Down to Earth, and Black Rain were overproduced, No More Tears was too commercial, and No Rest For the Wicked was an amazing album, but Zakk is no where near the musician that Randy Rhoads and Tony Iommi are/were, although Zakk is also very influential.

In terms of skill? No, but skill isn't all that defines a great musician. If you think that you have no right to call yourself a fan of music. Iommi did things to his guitar, such as detuning it, that completely changed rock forever, not to mention he is easily one of the greatest riff writers of all time. To deny that would be completely absurd, and I can almost guarantee any respectable guitarist, especially metal guitarists, would agree.

@kouradoman No, it's actually due to a lack of vocabulary I would say. It's actually quite annoying after a while. I'm not sure if that is the real reason but Gus has said that his english wasn't very sharp, so to speak, so I think that it must be because of a lack of vocabulary.

Joe Holmes might be a good guitar player, but the fucker looks like a heroin addict and has abso-fucking-lutely no stage presence. Neither did Randy Rhoads, may he R.I.P and he would probably be the first to admit it. Jake E. Lee had presence, but nobody has "bigger-than-life" presence like Mr. Zakk Wylde on guitar...nobody. Better guitar players, yeah, there's plenty others, but presence...I don't think so!

Ozzy is so successful that Ozzy can do fine without Sharon's management. Ozzy Osbourne's name alone makes him money. The bands Black Sabbath, Ozzy, and all the guitarist that Ozzy has had to share the stage with. The metal community will always support OZZY.

And I DONT listen to his music anymore. I was never HUGE fan of sabbath back when they were cool either, but they were great at what they did, and there were awesome live, as was Ozzy back in the 80's.
But, like most bad boys from this time, when he was drinking and taking drugs, and going crazy, this was his best time for songwriting and performing.
Its the same for most any acts like that, including motley crue, hendrix, beatles, doors, joplin, stones. All of them were better stoned.
