  • Question: Why is the area inside the sarcophagus being sprayed with a liquid-like substance? Just curious.

  • Yes, Chernobyl is an awful, awful tragedy, but it's no reason to oppose nuclear power. The soviet nuclear power stations were unsafe, and needed maintenence. Ultimately greenpeace should really support Nuclear energy, it is literally 30 million times more sustainable than the burning of fossil fuels and actually creates a viable amount of power as opposed to wind, or geothermal. Nuclear power is the future.

  • @MightyBif It also creates waste that will be still be highly dangerous for far longer than man has been on this planet. Do you really think Greenpeace would support a technology like that?!? If we spent on wind and solar what we do on nuclear we wouldn't have an energy problem, but then how do big corps and govs make $ out of what is essentially a free comodity??? There lies the real problem! More countries are decomissioning that building right now so I guess they disagree re the nuke future?

  • @22ness0hayden I will be more than happy to get a massive wind turbine and solar panel out side my house but when the wind stops and night kicks I, will want every one from Greenpeace to blow air at the turbine while shining a torch on the solar cell.

  • @BorisD1992 The energy would be stored in the national grid as it is now. You would be charged for what you consume and compensated for what you generate. This is how most solar powered properties currently operate. There is no need for round the clock generation

  • I think it's time to snipe zackaov from the hotel and have a nice beer

  • Wanna hear a joke?

    Greenpeace.

  • Thanks to these hippies were using oil now and look what its done....

  • woow same place in cod4. i saw the hotel in the sniper mission in cod4.

but omg i wish that accidents never happen.

  • are you an active greenpeace member?..

  • Listen I've got an idea we're gonna make some space shuttles right? and we'll load'em up with all the greenpeace members and then we'll send'em to Mars where they can make their utopia that they apperently wish for.

  • went there once, there was a taste of death, defeat and sulphur in the air and you couldnt hear anything but the wind and people talking \, nothing else

  • @TheSwampcritter this is not cod 4 you ass

  • @emptyhacks no shit i was sent there with a military visa and i hated every second because i knew people probably died right were i was standing

  • Not sure what GP are up to here, not sure what they trying to say by this.

  • i cant stand this crap. the city that there showing was evacuated after the accident first off. 2 not many people suffered from the exposure besides the people that helped put out the fires. 3rd the reason for the accident was they were doing an experiment with reactor 4 that they shouldnt have attempted.4th the reactor did not after the common layers of protection like most nuclear plants. 5,reactor 2 ran untill late 2000 and came online months after th accident. DIE GREEN PEACE UR FULL O

  • @13026A It`s Ukraine, idiot! You are banned!

  • @dmelekhin

It now Ukraine and was earlier the USSR

  • @13026A what a dickhead...you need to take a few history lessons!!!

  • @13026A yeah?..... iceland my ass...... faggot

  • @13026A wtf is Russni???

  • Green peace can't fix this. It will take more years on cleaning, maybe the next 20 years or less

  • what a music playing in this video

  • We should never Forget so we know what mistakes to never make again. But Green peace can go die. One of my uncles best friends was killed because some green peace members messed with a boyie out in the bay.

  • why do cameras make crackling noises when exposed to high amounts of radiation?

  • @mixmasterphill

it's actually a geiger counter at least that the most likely scenario

  • my qeustion is what radiation exactly does with you when u absorb it ?

  • @SilentGstrike I`ll been there at two days. It`s like a two weeks at normal radioactivity.

  • @SilentGstrike

You pick up radiation , it goes into your body .

Depending on quantity you picked up , either you'll DNA autorepair system will handle it , or your DNA in some part of your body will start to change and you can get cancer . Or your cells could die cause molecular structure has changed in them .

After some time , radiation wears out , but changed DNA and molecules can stay ...

  • @SilentGstrike

your cells start to degenerate so your organs can stop working

  • @SilentGstrike it destroys cells and mutates cells. depends on the lenght of exposure and the intensity. as well as alfa. beta and gamma rays. gamma is worst only thick piece of lead can stop gamma rays.u can get necrosis, all sorts of cancer, nerve system collapse, radiation sickness, skin burns and i can go on for ever like that.

watch at 1:19 u can actually see the radiation (litlle white blips) because it disturbes and destoys the sensitive circuits in the camera.

  • @SilentGstrike Well, too much can be deadly, and even minor exposures can cause... problems with your... um, manhood or womanhood... That's why radiation commonly causes mutations in people and animals.

  • @SilentGstrike the radiation can do lots of harm to your system, like, 1. cancer, 2. mutation ( changes to your body ) 3. organ harmful.

  • @SilentGstrike essentially it cooks you and deforms cells and chromosones

  • cool video. i can remember doing a book report about this disaster when i was a little kid.

  • this was a bad thing thing and should serve as a reminder of what a nuc bomb would do. Why the fuck man and woman kind would point things like this at one another i dont know : {

  • wtf? what greenpeace do in chernobyl? this is really creepy film.

  • look at the shot at 0:38. in the top of that building you snipe that bad guy in call of duty 4!

  • Ukrain, remenber how people from siberia, Moscow, Vladivostok, all USSR people help to you in Chernobyl

  • dear GorniyEvrey, your allegation about "..help to you.." has absolutely no matter. USSR was the single country, so it was our common disaster, same as it's reasons. This disaster was because of the assholes of Soviet Vlast, who was the incompetent rednecks (same as Khrushchov), sitting in government cabinets and playing with their dicks and vodka. All the Soviet Vlast (with some tiny exceptions) was these fucking rednexes, who thought that nuclear power plants is nuthin more than a big boilers

  • @GorniyEvrey yeh but it was the soviet over lord that caused the problem in the first place

  • @Asifyoudidthat

    +5 That is true!!!

  • I wasgo to chernobyl 2years ago, there is not dangerous, but in 26 april 1986 there is very dangerous the many peoples dead.Sorry i has some mistakes.

  • :29 a real STALKER?

  • nööö militär

  • I know but just kiddin

  • Just playing around it. ;)

  • you crushed my dreams.

  • :( sorry

  • don't worry folks, the russians have everything under control.... :D

  • chernobyl isn't in russia, this is in ukraine

  • Chernobyl and the Ukraine were in the USSR pre 1990

  • 1:32 you can see burned pluton

  • lets drink to him once more he was a good stalker

  • In Prypiat lived 50000 peoples....

  • real ghost place :(((( im from slovakia i only seen that on tv and internet but this is very poor ghost town :((((((

  • 50,00 peoplpe used to live in this city and now its a ghost town. its really sad you know if u guys say oh well ik everything guess the fuck what u fucking dont alright..all u ppl leaving negative comments to him or anyone else can get u banned and reported....thats not really a good thing if u have some very good or funny vids...so take it easy this guy here did a good job

  • nah, its about 15.000.. I don't get why everyone thinks that its 50.000. Does the guy in cod say 50.000 or 15.000 btw? Anyways i'm working about chernobyl at school and the swedish wiki said that it was about 13.000 / 15.000 peeps living there :P

  • the scandenavian wiki sucks, its true, there was 50 000 ppl at the moust..

  • @ Bosto23,

Did research at school 50.000 people in Pripyat, 12.000 in the village of chernobyl, and 75.000 in the nearby city of "opatitji"

  • Its the small town that the plant is named of Chernobyl. It was housing about 12k ppl, now about 300 people live there. Pripyat, which was a city made for the workers of the powerplant housed 50k people

  • by using the words:

    u (you)

ik ( what does that even mean?

fuck what u fucking dont alright (escuse me?)

and do you mean that 5000 people used to live there, because you left off 10000 people if you did.... there were 15000 people in pyrpriat.

by sounding like a idiot, you didn't get your point across

  • there lived about 50 000 people in pripyat(2km from chernobyl) and 14 000people in chernobyl.

  • my neighbour lived there!

  • Sure you do.

Safe? My Arse nuclear power is safe.

Renewables are cleaner and more reliable than nuclear power will ever be.

  • nice video

  • I wish Greenpeace would have died in the accident, damn idiots!

  • ?????are you stupid they are try to clean that shit up becouse the russians just put big brick wals and hoped for people to forget about it!!!!!! they are good people that actualy give a f%#k.

  • At least they care about the future of this planet, unlike you, you fucktarded eejit.

  • I absolutley care about the future of the planet, but Nuclear power is a safe way to make energy, and you know that. you can't compare Chernobyl and the the accident there with modern day powerplants, that would just be plain stupid!

  • Indeed. Except of the fact that all the nuclear power plants of the world work under the same principle: the atom split.

  • Yes but the fact is nuclear power plants have different cooling and containment systems. This disaster would have never happened if the Boron control rods were not graphite tipped. Not to mention their are different ways of harnessing the thermal energy produced by the Nuclear reaction. Even the flawed RMBK reactors have been fixed and are fairly safe.

  • They want the nuclear power plants to disappear, but what other real options have we got? Windmills will never be producing enough power and not every country has mountains where to build dams, should we burn more polluting things to avoid the dangers of the nuclear power plants? I don't mean to be rude but we don't really have the choice.

    Nice video by the way.

  • Renard380, what the fuck would you know about renewables?

You don't need damned mountains for windpower, fool. You can put them over the sea where they can get lots of wind.

Nuclear kills people and the waste damages ecosystems.

  • Can you read? I said "not every country has mountains where to build dams" Do you think dams are used to create electricity from windpower? Get a brain before you spam.

  • good video

  • green peace are a bunch of NOBHEADS!

  • Interesting!

  • and the only reson america helped europe win WW2 was coz thay needed us to help them fight the japs and even then thay decided scince thay were losing thay might aswell nucem all.America sucks russia won the ww2 for us not the americans.

  • i agree, good call

  • kill who, you idiot? Ukraine is not part of russia and soviet union is collapsed.

  • there are retards everywhere, don't pay attention :)

  • u suck kill ur self :) u have no idea wut u r talking about

  • Great Video 5*
