I had no idea that this song was on a Brothers Johnson album, since neither George and Louis Johnson sang lead on song. One day, I just googled the lyrics and it came up as a song by them. Imagine my surprise! Just want to thank you again for posting this song. It is very calming.......

    very smooth groove

    these guys are badd men

  • @ssnake6 I think it's Richard Heath

  • @shydmples That is Richard Heath singing the lead. Richard is probably one of the most talented people you'll ever meet; he is an exceptionally nice person. I have known Richard since 1971. We attended the same high school (Morningside High School in Inglewood, CA). Besides being a talented musician (played percussions on Michael Jackson's OFF THE WALL album), Richard was a supreme martial artist - one of the best black belts in California when he was just 16 years of age. FYI...

  • @OGSINBAD22 Nice!!! Very nice...Thank you so much for the insight...I didn't know that much about Richard Heath...thanks again!!!

  • Ooo... this song brought me to tears just now. I remember it. Picturing dancing with my future husband on it. He's far away but, I really do treasure him. Thank you for posting. :)

  • Its 1980 again, I just graduated high school, was preppin' for college and had no worries. Life was sooo good back then. Youtube is like a time machine!!!

  • I remember back in 1982 when on every friday i could hardly wait until school would end, and i would go home to catch the bus togo and vist my lady Sebrena. We would laugh play and talk while this album would serve as our back drop, and when it was time to leave we would hold eachother tight and kiss until tears ran down our faces as this song would play, only to repeat the same emotinal high on Saturday. Thanks for this one Brothers Johnson

  • Such a beautiful song off what I consider to be their best album. Excellent upload!

  • The prettiest song ever written- Thank you Rod Temperton. (The Same man who Wrote "Thriller")

  • Oh right. Can't forget about Rod. Hooked HEATWAVE up bigtime. Helped Quincy out on the OFF THE WALL album too. Remember HEATWAVES .....STAR OF THE STORY?......CLASSIC

  • Man you on a role ain't you? Yeah I used to jam this whole album. Each cut was a jam. There was one if I'm not mistaken called THIS HAD TO BE. Real funky bass playin and had Michael on background vocals.....Michael Jackson for those who might not know who I'm referring to.

  • Yeah,I love this album too!!! This was the time when Quincy was in the zone!!! Everything he touched was "Platinum"!! Good move on his part to bring Rod Temperton on board as one of the writers also!!

  • @musicminor25
