  • You have good taste in music

  • Beautiful woman, indeed.

  • Your playing my favorite song in the background.hahahha

  • god you're so beatiful, who ever is dating you better not let you go. you're one of a kind

  • british accent <3

  • i find it better to start from the ends working back to the roots, still i like your combing the ends method, will try this

  • thank gooodness i found this video! i plan on taking out my microbraids next week and i have hair just like yours (rougher of course) and my mum just happened to buy the detangler like a week ago... this is so helpful

  • I tthought your suppose to comb natural hair wet...not dry? I'm new at this, but that's what every vid I've watched say. As well,..to start at the ends when combing/detangling. I guess it's by choice and it depends on your hair. Thanks for the product review also. :)

  • did your hair take long to grow

  • Everyone has different hair types. So you can't speak for everyone. For example, I CANNOT get a comb through my hair (nor would I want to) when my hair is dry. Period. I can have a whole mess of product in my hair and it would make no difference. My hair MUST be wet for me to detangle it. However, I do agree with you about combing from the roots.

  • @2kooltk well she's doing this video for the ones who CAN GET A COMB THROUGH THEIR HAIR WHEN IT'S DRY.

  • omg I LOVE your accent!! nice hair too!

  • You're such a cool person! ^_^

  • doo gro is the secret to beautiful hair. ive noticed products for black ppl are so much better than all the other new bullshit they stay coming out with. my hair was thinning soo bad and not even a month later its doubled in thickness. love yr accent giRl <3

  • well i was gonna ask if you've ever tried starting to detangle at the ends..but your method seemed to work just as well if not better..love your accent and makeup..really good vid.

  • Your really inspiring. Im black, Brazilian and Ghanian, and Im 13. My hair is really frizzy compared to my other friends with afro hair. Loads of my mates relax and straighten their hair and you've really inspired to love my natural big hair.

    Thanks Jodie :) x

  • In 2 years when im 18 would you consider marrying me? ;D

I think im in love....also, Happy Valentines Day =)

  • my hair is like yours but its much thicker

  • don't care!

  • you should start at the end. your hair is gorgeous !!

  • thanks, I find i prefere to start at the root it's easier for me and takes less time. Point is im not breaking my hair while im combing it so it doesnt matter

  • Okayyy? didn't mean any harm

  • wow..beaUTifuL hair girL! im naturaL toO but i wasnt officially naturall unTiL June 09 I cant wait untiL my hair is that big! LuV.. luv it.. luv it..

  • Actually i detangle from the roots first then when i cant go down anymore i work from the ends up. Its much easier this way (4a).

  • thanks a million. i jus cut ma hair and i looked very much like a boy because it was so curly and matted. love the vid. lots of help. thanks a million ♥

  • Never start to detangle your hair from the roots. You start from the ends. And never detangle on dry hair.

  • Sorry but i will detangle my hair the way I like and the way i think is best for me. I don't appreciate being told how to deal with my own hair thank you. As long as i am being gentle with it and not breaking strands while im combing it really doesn't matter

  • Precisely...By all means do what you feel is best for you...However my comment was not directed towards you. Rather towards those who are just starting to learn how to deal with their natural hair texture... It may help them to know it causes less damage to their hair if they start to detangle their hair starting with the ends while their hair is wet

  • Ok fair enough, but did you know that when your hair is wet it is at its weakest and if anything it's more likely to tear and break if you comb it when it's wet. It's much better to detangle when it's dry with a detangler such as doo gro

  • That I did not know...I think it also depends on texture...My hair has extreme spiral (or "Z") shaped curls therefore I wouldn't dare try to detangle while bone dry...however a detangler is something I will look into...hopefully it'll help!

  • @JodieTheNutter You're absolutely correct!

  • great vid!!your eyebrows are gorgeous. How do you get themdone?

  • Thanks sweetie. My mum threads them somtimes or i use tweezerman tweezers to take the strays off

  • youre hot

  • gorgeous girl and i love your hair!

  • I have to say great background music! It so suits your look:D Very Mel B!!

  • Thank you! xxx

  • Jodie,

Can you do a video on your eye make up?

  • I think I may just do one soon! x

  • Us ladies with a tight curl pattern can't start the detangling process at the roots, the comb will just get stuck as all the curls bunch together, but its still a great vid for looser curls.

  • Well it seems to work for me, its much more hard work starting at the ends in my opinion and i can get away with it because my hair is not over thick. You saw the end result and you could see my method works. It REALLY DOES NOT MATTER, AS LONG AS YOU ARE BEING GENTLE WITH YOUR HAIR!

  • Very good point...LOL...I was doing my hair today && just the thought of detangling from the roots is impossible for my texture!

  • hello miss,

i'm a black french-malgasy woman and 6 month ago i had my hair released, the reaction of people around (black&white, my fiancé, friends & family) was not what i expected they did not understand why i had to free my hair, "it was out of line with the french culture"! but by seeing ur video i feel sooo stupid with my wig even ashame i'm gonna take it off and take care of my beautiful hair like i use to do

big thanks for the power that u spread

life will give it back to u:):):)

  • tu as raison bon courage à toi,

    Une soeur au naturelle

  • Glad I could inspire you! Be proud of your natural hair and have it out free and wild!

  • You're so beautiful, I love your fro. You've inspired me to cut my dreads and start growing my hair out in a fro again. Not right away of course, but in about a year or so. I'm gonna need to watch your posts to keep my hair healthy so keep making these high info packed vids. You have no idea how useful they are. Freaking uber fro...its so huge and awesome!

  • Thats so great to hear Nerefurian! It's comments like yours that make me want to make more! Please be patient more vids coming soon! Jodie xxx

  • i miss my afro...

  • try starting from ends and slowly working way to the roots, bc usually the ends r the most tangled

  • Thanks hun but i prefere starting from the top, point is i work on the ends anyway. I just do what I find easier and less time consuming

  • Its so Great to see someone who's british for once now i can purchase the products and your advice has helped

i get so mad with my hair sometimes

its so frustrating too much hair is difficult,,

    THANK YOU!

  • No problem! Will be making a video soon on all the best hair products I use! xx

  • Jodie i think ur so great, u dont have to take time and effor to make videos but you do it because your great! Love your videos and advice jodie!!!

  • I'm a black guy and i appreciate what ur motivation does for other black women watching ur video

  • you're so gorgeous! i want a big afro hair =( !

  • Thank you :)

  • I must say, you're really beautifull

  • This is the first time I have seen someone stretch the ends while detangling. That's what I found works for me, too. My ends are very tightly coiled and when I stretch it with my hands it lets the comb go through better. Kudos! Great advice.

  • Your hair is beautiful!! I'm loving the afro! Rock it Girl!!! :)

  • beautiful

  • I've only detangled on wet soppin with conditioner hair but this is a great alternative. Maybe even stretch out my fro and find the guts to wear it out in the street. lol Your hair is beautiful and you are a great role model, for sure!! :)

  • Jodie you are a great role model and a Goddess!

  • why do you start detangling at the root? i've always gotten less breakage by starting from the middle or end then working my way up slowly until the comb goes all the way through smoothly.

also, is your detangler oil or water based?

  • Because I comb my hair how it works for me. I don't think it matters to much where I start, as long as i'm being gentle with my hair while i'm combing it and working through the knots and tangles carefully it doesn't really matter. What's important is I do what you do up until the point where my comb stops which is where all the tangles are.

  • & because my hair is long and strong it also makes it fine to start from the root. It's just my preffered technique i'm just showing people the way I do things

  • LOL....So is your detangler oil or water based?

  • Thank you :) I can't really say how long it took me to grow because I get trims which have made it shorter and it then grows back to the same length! I wouldn't say my hair is long, but it's very thick and big

  • great tips! lovely hair

  • u have such nice healthy hair how long did it take u to grow ur hair that long?

  • lol thats alot hair! proper dedication lol
