  • @doubledoubleswifty Oh,thank you very much for your kind reply. Since my fist visit to H.K in 1989, every visits had brought us so many satisfactions in every respects of this city. I and my fellows always look back to the memories of H.K with happy feelings. Unfotunetly in these few years,I coundn't have the chance to go to there,

but I am looking for taking get on the lovely Star Ferry some day. Thank you again for your kindness.

  • I still remember the clock of the old building made sound, just like this: dong dong dong. Do you remember?? I like that.

  • HK is the most amazing place I ever visited. If you ever get a chance take the Star ferry to Kowloon and back, just for the view of the skyline lit up with tall buildings. V. beautiful city.

  • Sorry, May I ask what happened to Star Ferry? Has the service been stopped?

  • No, the Star ferry service is still there, but the old Central pier has been demolished to make way for a road....and has been replaced by a joke of a building.

  • wat was that song sung by anita mui? (i think)

before, i talked to my cousin about the issue on the star ferry, i was totally oppose to the government.

but after talking to him, he taught me a very good lesson. "How could human move forward if we have to keep all the old stuff?" havent talked to him for 2 yrs but he became more mature than 2 yrs ago...

  • dude, its not just about keeping old stuff. Have you seen what a horrible building we have replaced it with? It is tasteless 'Fake' architecture by copying (very badly) edwardian details. Out of place, Out of scale. Makes me sick and angry.

  • Unfortunately these idiots in our government make the decisions and they will not listen to the people. Just like how we are losing our Street markets, a significant physical piece of Hong Kong's history has been replaced by fake 'Disney style' Heritage.

  • @spudmaster

    YOU ARE QUITE RIGHT!

I THINK THE ARCHITECTS WHO DESIGNED THE FACADE OF THE OLD STAR FERRY WOULD TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU!

  • Brought back great memories. Thanks for sharing this.

  • I was very sad to here the Star Ferry is no more,

    Good video. From Australia

  • just as sad as hk getting handed back to china! we are losing all our colonial history...

What british? we never had british here - the eyes of the mainland haha

  • For me, HK is still a British territory.

  • If you feel so strongly about losing the Star Ferry, then DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! dont just say goodbye!!

Join www.project-see.net, help us save the Star Ferry and Clock Tower from demolition!

  • childhood memories....

  • very nice one ~

  • I love this. I was thinking to take video of the star ferry for a mth. Too busy. When I have time this week, I can't find my dv and dc. What has happened? But your video is good enough.

  • it gives me tears when i am watching this video....

  • Same to me.

  • cool, hong kong is the best

  • very nice!
