Wayne, t-pain and them all use auto tune in creative ways to make it sound like a vocoder, which is why they are often confused. I've heard this girl sing straight and she definitely does not need auto tune.

I don't know, there's this coldness and aloofness to this song that is hard to cut through. With AC, there's a heartbeat.
