Have you programmed this in as one long song, or have you found some way of making the sequencer work as a live-looper? I'm just starting out with CZ5000 and looking to use it alongside a monotribe to do witch-house type stuff. Live-looping would be awesome.
Ending reminds me of parts of Atom Heart Mother Suite(?), by Floyd. Good stuff. I'm looking 4a decent CZ-5000/1000, if anyone has one 2sell. Owned a CZ-1000 when I was 12-13, and then traded it 4a Juno-106 when I was 17. Not a bad trade eh? But still, I wish I cud have found a way 2hold onto the CZ. Bought it new in 1985(with grassmowing$), and the membrane buttons already started 2fail. So that's why I'm considering the 5000 now. More grownup, sturdier board that still has all the nostaglia. :)
I have a CZ-5000 but I never use its sounds, but this video is a great example of the "FM-ish" sounds you can get from it. My CZ-5000 somehow still has its original slider caps for the volume and chorus, and they came off too easily at times, thats prob why most CZs dont have thiers after all these years. Too bad someone couldn't modify a CZ-5000 with knobs to replace the buttons on it. I might program mine more then. LOL :) TSF
Not bad at all. If you use some software samplers/synths. It would be a good single release. As funky as the CZ sounds it might be holding you back a little.
Damn, I tired to figure out the CZ-5000, but I couldn't... Great job man. It looks like such a fun instrument in your hands. Thanks a lot for posting.
Put a beat over that and and Dave Gahn from Depeche mode and you would have a new DM track.Very good, sounds analogue even though its phase distortion synthesis.I have one without the manual, would love to be able to get the sequencer to work on mine.Cool vid
I wanted to get one of those..... Before the only other Casio Keyboards I've had are the MT-220 (I got when I was ten), and my Casio CTK-601 (which is broke I have to fix)
what happened to the cat ? I have a CZ-5000 sequencer is broke. I got it for 40 bucks you can get some crazy sounds with it . I really wish I had the cartridge to save them. I need to mix the sound with my nord I bet i can get pretty wild with that oh nice demo and song.
this video made me lust for a CZ 5K for so long.. after pillaging craigslist i finally found one... the tune sounds like something from an old John Carpenter flick! keep it coming!
Yeah! great job! something worth listening to on the CZ 5000. What an awesome song. I have a CZ 5000 and the CZ 101 and they have a unique sound and the CZ 5000 rules! Great use of the sequencer.

It's a bit backwards without knowing exactly which buttons to press but I'm sure you can figure it out.. Just make sure you have batteries in it.

Batteries you say? is this battery powered?
also does it have midi in/out?
gavin916freak 1 year ago
@gavin916freak The CZ 5000 uses batteries for memory backup, the synth itself is mains powered. And yes, all the CZ series have midi in/ out :-)

I like it and it is a good demonstration of the sequencers capabilities and how it can be used with live playing

I keep coming back to this video- luscious and haunting tune, no apologies necessary or accepted! even the chaos at the end works for me :)

Is it a step sequencer, or do you record it?
Chumleh 3 years ago
I used the step sequencer to record the different arpeggios in the chord sequence.
