  • here's to all the fakers-- HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOLLDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD OOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNN O N E M O RE TI M E WITH FEEEEEEEEEEEEEELING

  • Four people don't know great singers (and killer guns) when they see it!

  • literal LAMO XDXD

0:28 random chocking to death guy

    i just couldn't stop laughing...

  • good lord i love this song.

  • This is such an amazing song! This is going to sound a little rude, but I never guessed it was this amazing when I heard my sister singing it. It sounded like a decent, maybe below average, song, but this...This is just amazing!

  • do do do do do do bee do bee doo bee do bee do bee do do bee do :)

You thought by now you'd be so much better than you are(:

sometimess i want her to become more famous but then i think to myself, i don't want to share her :) lol

  • Those poor four people who have no taste of music.

  • Hahahaha! Beat that Lady Gaga! She sounds good, if not better, live and her brilliant lyrics render yours elementary!

Sorry, had to get that off my chest.

  • *lol* at the cough

Doesn't take away that it's a gorgeous song though =) I love this woman, she's such a talented artist.

  • sublime

  • whoa this version is WAAAY better than the studio version.

  • this is so beautiful and soulful. regina is amazing.

  • I like all of her songs on Far both ways. I like it with the other instruments. Its different to her other albums. But all of Regina's albums are different to each other and I like it that way. I like this album version but I can still appreciate the simplier version. Yes, I agree it is a totally different song with a different feel but I don't think thats a bad thing.

  • it's about the fact that they changed the feeling of the song by adding more instruments and sounds. this live performance makes the song sound sadder than the album version.

it's a different feeling, as simple as that

  • i. love. this.

  • I can't agree exaggerated's comments. I love the production on most of Far. Some songs I agree are better off simplified, like Calculation, but this song as well as Folding Chair are in my opinion better with the extras. But I could still listen to this woman whatever she sings till all hours of the night and was so glad I could see her live this past June

  • I wish she left this song alone with just the piano, along with Genius of the Year and Folding Chair. Gah! She has such amazing talent I just want it all to be her and not some random studio sounds added.

  • oh thank god!!!!!!!! finally one with the same thoughts!!!!!!! regina was so pure in the first three albums and i still love her....but those song are, im sorry to say that, ruined with those commercial sounds....

  • Yes, because bass, drums, orchestrations and layered vocals are such completely random sounds.

I wasn't as keen on Begin to Hope as most of her albums, not BECAUSE there were other instruments, but because half the time they weren't used too well. But Far is a great sounding album where every song is, in my opinion, perfectly balanced. Love it!

  • i prefer this version so much, as well. its so untouched and regina-ish.

  • But does she..? Or is it pressure from the producers of the album "/

  • that cough at 0:30 scared the crap out of me!!

  • Me too! I was watching at four or so in the morning and wasn't supposed to be up so my instant thought was OMGIAMINSOMUCHTROUBLE. x]

I love this song so much, though. I think that most of her work is much better live. It really does have... Feeling.

  • Me too! My heart stopped!

  • Are you talking about the cough ???

    come on..

    funny though

  • yeah...and i think it did the same with regina... i could hear how she misses the tone the very same moment...or is it just me?

  • Hahahah I listened to it right before I fell asleep and BAM! sooo scary!!

  • agreed!

  • She ruined this song on her new cd!

It's cheesy.. this here is so pure.. i cry. The cd has this song sped up, and it's overdone.

  • I agree. I wouldn't say "ruined", exactly, but I was so happy to see this on her new CD, and I was definitely disappointed with the outcome. Still a pretty song, but the live version was damn gorgeous.

  • ahum.

  • While I so wish I had this song, and many others, on a CD--I love that there are only live recordings of it, and that you have to hunt around YouTube for some of her greatest work... To me, it feels like that way, only the people who truly love, appreciate, and understand her work can get to it. :)

  • I agree completely. =)

  • IT'S GOING TO BE ON FAR:DDD

  • I wish I could find a clearer and louder version of this D:

  • This is one of my all-time favorite songs of Regina Spektor. This is probably the cleanest version on YouTube, yet that man coughing ruined it.. :[ But otherwise, I love this song! Regina Spektor is a lyrical genius!

  • it's so beautiful and relatable! it reminds me of a small child trying to live up to their parents expectations, and not really meeting it in the way everyone wanted but in their own hard-earned unique way

  • i feel like regina is a love her/hate her type of singer, because her lyrics are really different and real. i love her, obviously. and i love the people who love her. all the people who appreciate her music are some of the most amazing people i've ever met. i know that sounds weird, but it's true.

  • i'm proud when i hear of her success, but i cringe..

The greatest thing about her is that she's like a well kept secret. Not just anybody knows how mesmerizing her music is. It's like therapy for me..

  • i generally feel the same ...i mean, i don't like it when my favorite artists become extremely popular or very well-known...i think they start to make music more "for everyone"...for example if you compare begin to hope and songs, you'll see the difference...although they are both awesome records but i prefer her less known stuff

  • "do-do-do-do-do-dew-e-ew-e-ew"I LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love regina spektor with all my heart<3

  • why hasnt she released this song it is so good words cant even describe

  • this song has gotten me through some hard times

  • This song's beauty in it's purest form.

    period.

  • Regina=<3

    She rox my technicolor sox.

I think the only reason she isn't more popular is because she has a 'different' style of singing and a 'special' voice.

But that's why I <3 her and her music even more. She's so original.

  • Regina isn't more popular? I dunno she seems pretty popular to me and if by a special voice you mean an amazing vocal range and that sounds like the best thing ever then I guess that is pretty special.

No offense meant but I think its probably just the people you know because everyone I know loves her.

  • She isn't a household name... most who hear her love her, but she's not Britney Spears or anything, thank the lord.

She does have a different voice/style... like the noises in 'music box', that's not everyday top forty kind of stuff.

  • Thats top #1 stuff in my books =)

  • Haha, the only reason anyone knows her in my school is because I've spent all my time recruiting them as Regina lovers :P

  • me too i've been recruiting my classmates to love her and i've been seccessful!! hehehe..

  • I have brought Regina to my class!

  • I've been using Respektonline and absolutely love it! Thanks!

  • ditto. =]

  • Ahh! I know you've probably been asked but where did you find this song? Can I download it anywhere?

  • I'm pretty sure you can find it on RespektOnline, just do a search for the exact song name and it should return a list of all the versions of the song they have an mp3 for.

  • Her best song. This is Regina at her finest. This song seems so much more mature, and confident than all of her other songs. She truly has grown into quite an amazing artist. I cant wait to hear whats to come.

  • omg. this is so beautiful, and thank youuu so much for the lyrics on every single one of your videos, i just stare at them with awe. they're like, magical. <3

  • Thank you so much for this!

  • this is the best recording ive ever heard of this song nick:) too bad theres no live vid:(

  • i don't know why this doesn't have more comments, beautiful performance and such an amazing person. regina seems to have a much deeper understanding of things than a lot of people and really pours out the core of every emotion into her music.. that sounds pretty lame, haha but if you're a fan then i'm sure you'll understand.

  • indeed :D

  • no i totally understand what you mean. i am a total regina fan and seriously all of her songs have somethin behind it (emotion) and you can tell she is a truly deep person!

  • she sounds so good live! "breathing is just a rhythm." i love the lyrics

  • She is too amazing for words. Her words are to poignant ant intelligent, I just couldn't be happier that people like her still exist when Lindsey Lohan and Paris Hilton are running around getting arrested all the time and all the little girls want to be just like them, and all the little boys want to be with them. Maybe Regina should start visiting schools around the country and teaching kids that SHE is was rocks, not those other bitches. Regina=love.

  • well said man

  • i totally agree, next to those idiots who sing about shit and use words so blunt and stupid(yet they still probably dont understand them themselves)and then there are people like regina spektor.amazingly intelligent, complex, she is what matters in the world, and i love her for that.

  • true story. Although i have to say i think Begin to Hope was not her best work.. But i still love it and her and its a whole shit ton better than most other newer stuff out so even though I think it may not be up to her par i still think shes wayyyy above average musically speaking. I hope she puts some of the new stuff that shes been playing live lately on her next album.. Whenever that comes out. no matter what, Regina=love.

  • *jaw wide open*

Of all of reginas songs I have been looking for one that reflects in my own mind her real feelings towards life, complicated, frustrated, rational, emotionally fragile, complicated at the end of a reluctant relaxed acceptance. SlickNick your views on this?

  • this one is amazing, its so simple and beautiful, like all of Regina's best.
