@skaterkid12322 make sure you are pushing from your diaphragm, and make sure your throat is loose. If your throat tenses up, which ironically you shouldn't need to do to scream properly, you will dry out/scratch/hurt your throat. In other words, your belly should be tense and your throat should not.

This is not the right way to do it dude, the only bands that do this kind of screaming are the ones who do not sing. At the end of a show you would absolutely not have a voice left.

You're using your vocal chords, you're supposed to use what's called your false chords. I learned the same wrong way as you did, and so did many other famous lead singers for bands. Seriously though, you're bruising your vocal chords and can damage them for good.
