Tried out my rode svm for the first time last night,and was very dissapointed.I filmed a band from about 4-5 feet away,and it sounds really distorted,even though i had the mic set for loud recordings.I have read that the closer the mic the better the recording but,all ive got is a very horrible bit of footage.I used the mic with a sony dcr-pc9e video cam.
