why everybody hates anette so much? even she is not any terja, still nightwish is good band. of course best songs has been made with tarja, but anettes song aren't bad aither.
Personally? I'm a proper heavy metaller, and I always saw Nightwish as a joke band. I don't think operatic singing works well with any rhythmic beat, and should stay in opera shows where it belongs. Many of my circles of friends also believe the same, and that Nightwish were aimed at teen goths, as a bit of a gimmick.
As soon as I heard Dark Passion Play all that changed. I love nightwish now (the last 2 albums), and want to see them live. I'm so glad they've got a proper singer now.

@metaleroo4ever Oh, no, don't get my wrong, there's nothing wrong with her at all. Her voice is amazing and I've heard very few people sings with such a beautiful voice. My issue is with metal bands employing opera singers. I really don't think it works and I don't think it will last as a phase. I think it's sad what happened to her though, and hope she has success with whatever she does.
@Ax8472 Tarja made nightwish be as they are now, true anette has brought new blood into the mix, however people are varied and tarja was able to open the mind's of alot of people to her classical singing. Personally i think it worked, otherwise i wouldn't be a fan of nightwish. Most people see opera as "LOL, old rich people's music", and until you open your mind to what is out there in the world, you will alway's see it that way.

Anette doesn't really have a 'special' voice. With Dark Passion Play i was doubting about her, but with the new album, i really fell in love with her<3, she did a great job. And i don't understand why people really 'hate' Anette. I think if you don't like her, don't go to the concerts and just listen to their old songs!

Seriously, She's amazing, and I like her music a lot better than I liked Tarja's. Yes, Tarja's music was amazing all in itself, but it's two different sounds. They expanded and improved. So get over it because Tarja isn't coming back.
i think it's disgusting how people treat anette, i can agree she aint tarja, she has an entirely different type of voice, not the opera thingy. But that doesn't mean she's a bad singer, first time i saw them live with anette i was impressed by how she adapted to tarjas old songs. And besides, after what i've hear tarja wasn't really easy beeing in a band with, but very pleased with anette. Personality and chemistry means alot when your on the road for a long time.
@nonhasthisusername Amen to that. Hell, Tarja's actions are what led to her being kicked out but no one seems to understand that. The Tarja lovers take her side. Personally I wouldn't want to be in a band with someone who thinks they're bigger than the band. Like you said, band chemistry is very important especially when you do tours that last over a year. When you have someone that suddenly goes into diva mode, it can be real difficult to enjoy performing with them.

@GreenDay1981 I don't think anybody actually believes complaining will get her back. They simply just don't like Anette and neither do I. I don't go out of my way to find every video and post shit however. The years with Tarja as vocalist were simply amazing and I will never learn to like Anette. It was an important band for me so I just turn down the volume to minimum or turn the radio off when the new songs play.

@draickx I wouldn't count on it. Tuomas has already stated that he is happy with the choice he made. Sure Anette acts rather goofy on stage sometimes but she does have a great voice. People demanded that Nightwish get another opera singer but IMO, that would have been disrespectful to Tarja's legacy if they did that. They made the right choice in picking a regular singer.

The first song I heard of NW was song from the first album, I bought it, bought the others and DPP. I'm a metalhead, so its pretty obvious that I don't care for DPP. I'm not a hardcore Tarja Fan, Nor a Hardcore Anette fan like you. The music itself is not that good, I love the members though. Obviously the first album you bought was Once or DPP. And the concept? you mean the symphonic elements in the music? Or the image of a band that seems heavy because they dress in black?

Anette doesn't really have a 'special' voice. With Dark Passion Play i was doubting about her, but with the new album, i really fell in love with her<3, she did a great job. And i don't understand why people really 'hate' Anette. I think if you don't like her, don't go to the concerts and just listen to their old songs!

i think it's disgusting how people treat anette, i can agree she aint tarja, she has an entirely different type of voice, not the opera thingy. But that doesn't mean she's a bad singer, first time i saw them live with anette i was impressed by how she adapted to tarjas old songs. And besides, after what i've hear tarja wasn't really easy beeing in a band with, but very pleased with anette. Personality and chemistry means alot when your on the road for a long time.

Personally I wouldn't want to be in a band with someone who thinks they're bigger than the band. Like you said, band chemistry is very important especially when you do tours that last over a year. When you have someone that suddenly goes into diva mode, it can be real difficult to enjoy performing with them.

I don't go out of my way to find every video and post shit however. The years with Tarja as vocalist were simply amazing and I will never learn to like Anette. @draickx I wouldn't count on it. Tuomas has already stated that he is happy with the choice he made. Sure Anette acts rather goofy on stage sometimes but she does have a great voice. People demanded that Nightwish get another opera singer but IMO, that would have been disrespectful to Tarja's legacy if they did that. They made the right choice in picking a regular singer.

adr14ntr, If you think being a NW fan is worshiping them, attacking other NW listeners, liking them anyway even if you don't necessarily like them anymore. You are mistaken. Are you really that obsessed? I don't hate Anette, I've never met her, but my friends have! And thats their opinions! Like I said in my last comment, people like you who hide behind a computer, should NOT be aloud to talk about something they know nothing of! I am not a fan, that's correct, but neither are you.

Oh you are far more superior than me. What is it that people love to say ''I"m better than you'' is that why you attack random people for no reason? A girl replied to me feeling upset that a person could say she's not a fan just because she doesn't like Anette. I was comforting her by saying don't listen to others, listen to yourself. The first song I heard of NW was song from the first album, I bought it, bought the others and DPP. I'm a metalhead, so its pretty obvious that I don't care for DPP. I'm not a hardcore Tarja Fan, Nor a Hardcore Anette fan like you. The music itself is not that good, I love the members though. Obviously the first album you bought was Once or DPP. And the concept? you mean the symphonic elements in the music? Or the image of a band that seems heavy because they dress in black?

And I'm a fan of Metal, and the old NW music. No one is going to tell me differ. I've never said I'm a better person than others. Please explain to me why you think I'm so vain? I can say I don't like their latest album, and that means I've never been a fan? That makes no sense! A FAN does not mean they should attack anyone that doesn't like them anymore! And that girl I spoke to is a TRUE FAN. She is not a psychotic fan like you. You sure have some balls to say I'm a fan of myself. @singerprissy Look I never say that if you dont like everything about a band you are not their fan, why? becuase I love WT, and I dare to call myself a Within Temptation fan, but I didnt like their new album...but did I stop to listen the band? No!! I keep listening their old songs, though I dont like what they are doing now, but I keep loving the old sound, and I keep feeling admiration and love for the members of the band

Well I'm a girl for sure, you're gonna have to take my word. If you saw my channel, you also saw I don't just listen to metal, well its mostly metal. Don't laugh but I'm still a huge Jessica Simpson fan. Her pop days, not country. Thats why I know Anette can't sing but mainly I'm a singer myself. Are you saying that just because they change their vocalist they dont sound like metal?!? Really!!?? O wow!! I didnt know that metal was based on an OPERA voice!! I always thought that the most important thing in metal was the heavy sound, heavy sound produced by guitars, bass and drums... And I know that NW still have bass, guitar and drums, and they keep sounding heavy, but if they dont have an opera voice they are not metal anymore?? O wow! so Iron Maiden and Metallica are not metal bands!
