@alextheromanian Not really. I have two ExpressGate-enabled motherboards (a M4N98TD-EVO and a M4N72-E, and in both cases ExpressGate can be disabled from the BIOS. Also, Expressgate must be installed into the hard disk as a separate partition or onto a USB stick that must be plugged into the computer before boot. Don't install it and/or disable the loader from the BIOS, and you won't have it.
it's said 8 secs for notebooks and 5 secs for desktops. But i don't know, this one video seems to be forever and still it ends before anything happens... hahah
I don't care if you have 6SSD's in raid 0 and ocd it doesn't effect the Express Gate initial boot time, because it's booting from a separate SSD with Linux based os.
Just recently, Asus has become comparable to top brands, like HP and Dell. They make reliable and affordable products. I think they're probably one of the best deals for laptops.
The Express Gate is a very good thing. On Vista the Power 4 Gear is working, and the PC is quiet when i'm surfing on the internet. If I start the linux with Express Gate, the fans of my notebook are very noisy, what is disturbing me. It would be good, if you can fix that problem, because that idea of fast booting linux is very good.
Seeing how that was the literal meaning of your original post, and all I did was refute it (to your apparent offense), I believe your sarcasm is unwarranted.
I love it, is a great feature from Asus MB, specially when none of my OS will work

By the time it took to open the browser using Express Gate I could have had my entire Windows booted up and loaded.

How can you launch express gate?
duykhang524 1 year ago
@duykhang524 you should have a motherboard that supports it.
then, you must enable it from BIOS Setup, then install it from the support CD of your motherboard.
hope it helps

Wow...5 seconds to boot into Express Gate...another 25 seconds to actually get where you want to go.
Nice Asus.

alextheromanian 2 years ago
Can I at least disable it so I can go directly to the OS on start up?
1HeartnSoul 2 years ago
@1HeartnSoul
Its just a feature you can just start up with your regular OS obviously...

ener599 2 years ago
do you need a firewall or is there one integrated? i mean i'd rather wait until the operating system is booted than getting a virus in just 5seconds!

Unix-based my friend. No virus exists for UNIX!

I read 5, but still... this seems to take a lot longer. Good to have a third-party video that's not just an ad by the company.

I overclock my Samsung Solid State Drive. So yes, you can make jokes all you want. Funny haha, but I am correct in my statement.
LizzyAston 3 years ago
your OC isnt going to effect how long it takes for express gate to boot. so no, you are not correct in your statement.
futurewolf42o 3 years ago 3
OK, so I won't get that extra second off the boot time? Gosh.
