not my Lucia - definitely NOT - too heavy and dragging, not in sync with the character/role and I agree, the trills at the end are simply not there plus the eb sounds "cheated". Plus the Italian sounds a tiny bit gargled which spoils it for me (like Sutherland always does, I can't listen to her strange Italian diction plus hot-potatoe-in-the-mouth-deliv­erance).

I do NOT agree that Dessay too slides into the eb - I don't hear it and why should she? She easily reaches higher notes ?!?

I like her. However, must I point out, the trills are nonexistent, she doesn't even attempt some of them. Some runs are quite inaccurate (the upward and downward chromatic one in particular), often missing a note or two. And the Eb is achieved, like Dessay and Gruberova, only by sliding into it, and it sounds MUCH smaller than the rest of her voice. And this is a studio recording. I think she is wonderful as Donna Anna, for example. Lucia? Not for me, despite a beautiful voice.

It is you who are ignorant. A trill, to be a trill, has to have TWO pitches in it. You are just annoyed that I criticized her. She is an excellent singer, but inadequate technically. Listen to the "trills" in either verse of "Spargi d'amaro pianto", there are NOT two pitches, she merely shakes on the same pitch. 4'57"-5'10". Downward arpeggios are sloppy after that. It is sad that slipshod performances are overpraised nowadays.

well I am not really a huge fan of mrs. orgonasova, but you're right, the ah si trills are not there, but in the duetto with the flute and on per te there's a perfectly executed trill! and I am not ignorant, don't call me like that, please.

Her voice is breathtaking, effortless, I thought Joan Sutherland owned this aria, with Callas a close 2nd, but Organasova is simpley amazing!
