I'd just like to say you are AWESOME for focusing on people's personalities over their physical attractiveness because it just means you see through the bullshit! Physical attractiveness is a subjective matter, and can also be an illusion through the use of makeup, cosmetic surgery, etc. Personalities are what brings a person to light and represents who he/she is, and it is personalities that mainly determine the success or failure of any particular interaction with a person.

I think it's kind of a sad statement about society that having my view sounds like it has to be an act. I'm not sure what scene that I'm a part of is supposed to have that view either. I read some of the comments. But for the most part I think it has to do with DNA. People are going to find the people that probally would make the better child to be atractive.

As far as the other part of the atractive thing goes. I think partly it has to do with that you are good looking so you didn't really have to deal with the ugly type issuses that some people have to face. If you were to judge Brad Pit, feature by feature, he would be one heck of an ugly bastard; his eyes are tiny, his bottom lip curls up while his top lip can hardly cover his top teeth and that massive jaw is almost deformed. But if you look at the overall image that is conveyed, women find him to be very manly and attractive. Same goes with Angelina Jolie...

I do. I don't think it's anticonformist really, just an odd standard, I do care about the hair, after all. No, I really find Brad Pitt to be physically unattractive. It's his face that I especially dislike. I expect that I would find his personality unattractive, but I'm not well acquainted with it. I can recognize that she's physically attractive now, but it isn't something that I would normally notice or care about.

I think you're generally correct about that, but people do have different tastes, and mine can just be a bit far removed. I wouldn't call it entirely genetic, as I think our environment and culture influences it, also.

You look at the world a bit differently when you do that.
