  • FIFTEEN SECOND KNOCKOUT!

  • I remember watching this fight on TV. Nightmare's oil, or some sort of fluid came out of it after it got hit, much like blood

  • Someone needs to make a robot with spinning blades forges from a japan blacksmith.

  • HOLY SHIT. I WOULD'VE NEVER SEEN THAT COMING.

  • You do realize that Nightmare never made contact to the body of Whyachi because it was impossible given the longer reach of the weapon Whyachi had..

  • You guys do know that Nightmare kinda never made contact with SoW, due to the bot being lifted on that wedge, giving SoW a flawless, epic, though somewhat unchallenged victory.

  • this is one of my favorite battlebots bout ever! i wish this show came back!

  • 0:07 imma touch juu

    0:10 NO FUCK YOU

    and then...

    0:11 Touch.

    I fucking hate spinnerets.

  • It's like SoW is designed to be perfectly against Nightmare. He'd win 10 out of 10. I love seeing stuff people spend tons of money and time into building get mangled like that lol. The kid in Nightmare's team was about to cry LOL Very predictable result though.

  • Fucking buried.

  • Son of Whyachi Wins! Flawless Victory!

  • Knights of the OWNED Republic.

  • Me, in fifth grade: *wakes up Sat Morning* Huh, what's this Battlebots program? Little brother: It's a show where they get robots to fight.

    Me: Hmm, that sounds cool.

Little brother: My favorite is Diesector.

    Me: Is he fighting now?

Little brother: No, it's Nightmare. He's really cool, and good too! He's fighting a guy named Son of Whyachi - he's kind of weird.

Me: Huh. Okay, I guess one match couldn't hurt.

AND FROM THAT DAY ON, SON OF WHYACHI WAS MY FAVORITE BATTLEBOT.

  • OH THE Humanity?

  • Question: Was the countdown really neccessary? Just a thought.

  • reminds me of when nightmare sent slamjob flying

  • woah,poor nightmare.but one hit KO

  • And THIS is why I wish they brought Battlebots back!

  • There's really only one way to defeat something like Son of Whyachi, and that's having a robot with such a strong hull that hitting it will cause more damage to Whyachi's arms than your robot will take. Cause enough damage, the high speed of the spin will tear the thing apart.

  • technically SOW was a stomp bot during this tournament

  • i hate son of waychi because they think there so cool for makeing a spinning robot and they are super cheap

  • Nightmare is super effective against wedge bots, he's like the anti-wedge. however, spinning bots have an advantage over nightmare, and some wedges are effective against spin bots. it's like rock paper scissors

  • @Turbulence654321 Son of Whyachi has one big advantage, More damage clearance, a spinning hit is quicker than a spinning cut, have you tried to cut something that's moving? very difficult as proved here

  • i stand corrected:15 SECONDS

  • IMO, battlebots was a good show, but next to robot wars it was total shit.

  • The person who activated the ramps did a disservice to the science of robot fighting and a veteran in Nightmare. They should have been able to meet in the middle of the ring, spinner vs spinner.

  • @akaTheWave Yeah. That was low. Tilting Nightmare left and right like that. He was already off balance before the hit even happened...

  • That was nothing. Look up Hypno-Disc vs Splinter.

  • @XzeroX999 gay!

  • @tegulum1 How so? It was a lot better than this fight, marginally better than SoW vs Biohazard, which is the best battlebots fight.

  • @XzeroX999 I just never liked robot wars and they never seemed to stack up as well against battlebots. The fight is entertaining but it doesnt touch the drama of what happened above...

  • The problem was that Nightmare let SOW get up to speed before attacking. If it it was a Robot like Razer, they would have gone straight for them and not let them get that spinner working

  • 1 HIT K.O

  • "This is gonna be classic."

  • I love how the judges were trying to lead up to a great fight and then nightmare just gets killed like it's nothing

  • Flawless victory

  • I'm amazed that the only parts Nightmare lost were its wheels. That said, I don't think the refs needed to count him out on that one.

  • i call it a instand ko,not a countout! he got instant kod in 11 seconds

  • I acaully have part of the belt from this :3

  • Heh, I remember seeing this on television. What you can't really see due to the quality of the clip, but when you see the wheel of Nightmare going flipping around, there was actually some sort of liquid spilling from it, it looked so much more brutal.

  • Son of Whyachi was ALWAYS going to win that battle

hard to cut something Vertically when it's moving Horizontally

the saw of Nightmare couldn't cut through momentum itself and was hit with that very momentum in the form of a deadly left hook from Son of Whyachi

  • I was always a bid surprized how well Nightmare did though such a simple yet highly effective design... though as been said before its only defense was a good offense, if offense failed.. its got nothing.

  • I don't remember ANY Battlebots moment that was more epic than this.

  • Not suprised, Nightmare never had much defense.

  • God I loved this show. I especially loved Son of Whyachi.

Is it true they're bringing it back?

  • that was a simple bitch slap

    lol

  • yeah i knew that was gonna happen when i saw the title

nightmare vs son of whyachi.... so stupid lol

  • Nightmare got bitch slapped so hard BOTH wheels flew off.

  • @Baschemon agreed

  • son of whyachi bitch slap it (x_x)

  • Lmao I love how they slowly accelerate towards each other... like its going to be a very intense battle then nightmare just gets owned like it's nothing

  • nightmare used rapid spin, son of whyachi used counter, its super effective nightmare fainted, trainer got £0

  • Apparently a buzzsaw doesn't have a chance against a mechanical backhand.

  • Nightmare got buttraped

  • 10 secs in and he got OWNED! HAHAHA have a taste of ur own saw Nightmare. hehehe its nice to see some small robots destroy big ones.

  • Im disappointed. My memory of the fight was obviously exaggerated. I remember Nightmare getting torn in half.

  • super bitch slap

  • Oh my god, I remember the days where whenever Nightmare was in the ring, he would demolish everyone else. (Of course, I was just a kid back then, and I may have been watching only the right episodes. I also have no idea what seasons I was watching either.)

I'm assuming this is a later season, and everyone has a way to beat Nightmare now XD. I feel kinda bad for him in this fight too. Nightmare was one of my oldtime favorites.

  • This was pete the hazard runner's fault.

Nightmare had a better chance flat on the ground, pete raised him up.

  • Pete wanted to raise SOW actually, since it was being slow. Wrong button...

  • Top 5 Discs Of Doom

    1. Son Of Wyachi

    2. Hypno-Disc

    3. Nightmare

    4. Pussycat

    5. 259

  • According to Jim's web site, Pete was actually attempting to activate the hellraisers under SoW, but pressed the wrong button.

  • All 3 wheels off awesome damge there!

  • nightmare just got PWNED

  • dude that's worse than a pwning

  • I'd consider that Son of Whyachi's Trademark Left Hook! ^_^

    Nightmare: "Aaaargh, THE CHAINS! NOOOOOOOOO!"

  • son of whyachi = best battlebot ever

  • Too bad nightmare didn't have a big rock attached to it's back to use against a more massive spinner.

  • haha, pwned

  • I remember seeing this when it originally aired and thinking what a mismatch this was. It's like Whyachi was designed to beat Nightmare.

  • Designed to beat Biohazard as well.

  • love how the fluid comes fying out from nightmares dismembered motor

  • You do not get much more owned than that, I'm afraid.

  • SOW = CHUCK NORRIS!!!

  • son of whyachi should of competed in robot wars the 7th wars, then put the in heat h of round 1 battle 1 and get son of whyachi to fight scraptosaur, ming dienasty and ceros.

  • he would have beaten everyone lol.

  • 0:12 Whyachi sent Nightmare to the moon!!!

  • if i had made nightmare i would give it a tank body instead of that and a horizontal blade in the back. ziggo could probably take down nightmare

  • That was more epic than the Headshot and Falcon Punsh combined!

  • Pete saying sorry for working the hazards? My god its the end of the world.

  • Nice One-Hit-KO!

It was also the speed and momentum of Nightmare's disc that sent itself over in the first place. That flip also happened on Robot Wars UK in a fight between Fluffy and 259, though it wasn't as brilliant as this one.

Even so, it would've lost anyway as both wheels were torn off.

This fight was short and sweet!

  • shit crushed in one hit

  • Fatality.

  • FATALITY?!? THAT WAS A BRUTALITY!!!

  • WOW da shortest match EVER!!!

  • If you were paying attention, this would've been Nightmare's fight if the ramp under Son of Whyachi had been activated instead of the one under Nightmare.

  • Whyachi would have killed it no matter what. The hammers had room between them to slam the blade, whereas the blade didn't have anything to cut but the support bars, in which case the next hammer would have mauled it. This was a foregone conclusion...

  • Yeah, I have to agree. There weren't many favorable outcomes possible for Nightmare this time. It was inevitable.

  • Well if Nightmare was going to go down, go with with a bang and in a rubble of metal.

  • Awesome, and unexpected...

  • THAT WAS F**KING FAST

  • IT'S SUPER EFFECTIVE !!

  • IT'S A ONE-HIT KO!!!

  • @Hulex Foe Nightmare Fainted.

  • Comment removed

  • @Hulex CRITICAL HIT!

  • @Hulex Critical hit, too!

  • @Hulex ONE HIT KO

  • ouch, man that son of whyachi is baaaad

  • I'm so glad you posted this... I miss battlebots

  • new battlebots is coming in april

  • when will battlebots come back to comedy central?

  • u sure? i think its may already..

  • search battlebots 2009.

  • Only one word for that: SHAZAM!

  • How come Terry Ewertt couldn't make the superheavyweight Whyachi as powerful as his son. He did one not too powerful hit on Odin 2 and then his rotor was stuck at the speed of Technofool.

  • Bots with spinning weapons generally didn't do very well in the SHW division.

I know your going to say Minion, but in most of the matches I've seen with Minon he seemed to always used the wedge.

The saw on the back never really did any damage, that I noticed anyways.

  • WEll, the thing about spinners ios that they're powerful, but vulnerable. Their greatest strength is also their weakness. the best tactic to use against spinners is to make them drive themselves into the hazards.

  • Minion hit Toro hard in Season 3 with his blade, disabling Toro's flipper.

  • That blade provides 360 degree protection fro almost every weapon type.Only long flippers can get under it!That thing spins o fast, like one nail on each of the points would just....wow......SoW just.....wow

  • Hazard has a similar design, except with a different blade.

  • i seen something VERY weird with twister once, where they wanted full protection so they put the blades on all four sides. it drained the battery like hell, but it was strong.

  • LOL HE GOT ASSKICKED. 1HIT

  • it's moments like that battle that makes me wish that Battlebots was still on Comedy Central...that show was the BEST!

  • owned? O_o i think its owned fer shure.....

  • SOW'S weapon also has a severe weapon advantage. The weapon alone weighs around 85 pounds according to some BattleBots book. NM woul've got hit either way the bot went.

  • If you look closely, Nightmare gets hit by a moving arena panel, knocking it off-balance right before the robots make contact.

    Totally unfair.

  • Yeah, Jim Swentouski [sp?] posted on his site about that. I would have liked to see what happened if Pete the hazards guy didn't screw em over.

Pete's still awesome, though. He better be manning the hazards again.

  • I'm still bitter about the 50% weight advantage alotted to SOW for being a walker...

  • It was disqualified the next season wasn't it? It became a super-heavyweight I think. Ingenious though!

  • yeah and self-destructed against swirlee at the start of the fight....swirlee never even touched whyachi. not that it would of matters.

although it was exciting watching whyachi spin out of control.

  • I don't know about anyone else, but this outcome was obvious.

When you have a plane that hig and a counter plane (with a much better base and lower center of gravity) it was over before it started.

  • no kiddin!it was very top heavy!!!

  • actually,i was off by 3 seconds!the total was 13 SECONDS!FROM THE BEGINNING OF MATCH,TIL THE KO OF NIGHTMARE IS A INCREDIBLE TOTAL OF 13 SECONDS!

  • That's SOW's trademark right hook, that is =P

  • fucking hilarious man! LMAO

  • actually Nightmare lost because horizontal spinners always win against vertical spinners(except when Nightmare won against Surgeon General in Season 2). Ankle Biter vs F5 (HS vs VS) F5 wins. Hazard vs Heavy Meal Noise (HS vs VS) Hazard wins. Nighmare vs. SoW (VS vs HS) SoW wins.

  • Nightmare was trying to turn just before impact so his disk would hit SoW in the direction the hammers are turning. What went wrong is that the hazard guy (Pete I think) fired the ramps under Nightmare so it couldn't turn. Pete actually meant to flip SoW because it wasn't advancing, but he hit the wrong button.

  • All i can say is OUCH

  • OWNED!!!

  • owned AND PWNED!!10 seconds!that`s a slaughter,folks!

  • so,without fighting it out,or trading insults,if you are willing to be reasonable(if are able to,of course!),and answer a simple question: why be so abusive and insulting?

  • a question to gattling, and this question is not intended to CAUSE A FIGHT,but to just find out something:why have you been so abusive?it`s not like "robotwarsking" had threatened your family,or something like that

  • Good point-I didn't exactly march into his house with a gun!

  • exactly!i guess he does not know how to be reasonable, nice,or intelligent

  • the problem is that, NM 's blade cant hit SOW before SOW's hammer make contact. SOW actually strike a massive blow on NM's disk, but its so powerful that both wheels was knocked off and it went rolling into the corner.

  • This is an oilest fight ever! (get it?)

    SoW FTW!

  • Nightmare: "I'll tear you to pieces when my disc connects"

    SOW: "We'll see about that"

    *Nightmare hits hellraiser*

    Nightmare: "What the..?

    *WHAM! Nightmare goes flying*

    Nightmare: "Oh knackers!"

  • holy crap!!!

  • nightmare lost because jim had intended to make a last-second turn towards S.O.W so the blade would connect, but the hellraisers popped up underneath him and screwed up his plan. i guess that's why they removed in season 5.0

  • this moment is what made me love the show

  • lol your video description is what im thinking so true with only 1 hit i thought this would be an amazing match

  • Vertical blades are not good against FBS, because FBS just keep spinning and so vertical spinners cant get a grip.

  • only 1 hit? wow

  • I feel guilty for causing this to get out of hand b/c I replyed to an earlier comment saying that the ramps had nothing to do with

Nightmares loss. And then,Gattling replies to me and calls me names. And out of nowhere,Chris

jumps in and takes this situation further. All

Im trying to say is,can u 2 just get along? If

    u cant,then get a LIFE!

  • man so obvious nightmare would lose,no chance that lame blade would do anything to the son!horizontal beats vertical...

  • typhoon versus son of whyachi

  • It didn't hit the wheel; it hit the wheel AND Nightmare's blade. The whiplash is what ripped off both Nightmare's wheels; sending them flying across the arena floor. The floor did help with that, but it was by no means a deciding factor.

  • It didn't hit the wheel; it hit the wheel AND Nightmare's blade. The whiplash is what ripped off both Nightmare's wheels; sending them flying across the arena floor. The floor did help with that, but it was by no means a deciding factor.

  • "this is gonna be classic" *nightmare gets owned* *round ends* lol

  • Nightmare got wrecked.

  • WOW!!!!

  • shut up you retard

  • I always hated those ramps, pistons, and spinners.I always thought that they were pointless arena hazards.I'll agree and say that the ramp did play a factor in

Nightmare's loss.I always thought Whyachi was

unstoppable be4 that huge impact in S4 when he

hit the screws for some odd reason.

  • Yep. The stupid hazard did play a HUGE factor in nightmare's loss.

That thing made one wheel of Nightmare to quit the ground, and Whyachi's hammers to hit one of his wheels. If the discs hitted each other however, it'd be a different story.

But why just Nightmare drove just straight into the hazard? Whyachi's spiner speed was maximal, it was useless to rush in.

  • ...somewhere an English teacher is crying

  • L0L

  • Well,I will agree w/u on both comments about

Nightmare and Mauler.Nightmare would either get owned or he would own his opponents(like

    Slamjob).And Mauler,well,he couldve gone all

the way in S1,but had no luck against Killerhurtz.Mauler was just pathetic in S2 and beyond b/c of the spinner upgrade, which

had no success. The point is,spinners rule!

  • i can imagine by some stroke of luck nightmares blade dumping all that rotating energy into whyachi would of been spectacular. your point about horizontal spinners is obviously true but it could have ended differently

  • Well actually, Mauler used to be nearly unstoppable back in the day (I once saw him smash a bowling ball into dust), as the spinning hammers were at a good height, and could easily connect with any robot. However, when he was "upgraded" to Mauler 51-50, the hammers became too low to the ground, meaning that hazards could hit the hammers, making Mauler wobble, and sometimes flip over, like he did in his battle with Bigger Brother. I could also swear that he's not as powerful as he used to be =(

  • Yes, that was the point I was trying to make, you fool. I was saying that the hammers were too low to the ground, which enabled the killsaws to knock one of them off and cause Mauler to lose his balance and spin over.

And plus, I knew what I was talking about, so get your facts right before you even try to flame me.

  • The point I was making was that I knew it hit Bigger brother (Which broke the hammer), and then the Killsaw finished the job by lifting Mauler a bit, then sending it spinning. And don't try and make yourself look all tough and cool (Which you fail miserably at) by shouting and swearing if you don't get your way with people.

Anyway, I've had enough of this petty argument. Both of us could be right in different ways, so let's shut up about this subject and forget it ever happened, K?
