Nixon's appearance on Laugh In was very quick, but the skit they are talking about in the sound clip was a much longer comedy routine just shown at the White House for Nixon's private birthday celebration. Apparently, a lot of the jokes in the skit dealt with football since Nixon was such a big football fan. It would be interesting to know if that skit is still in existence and if so, where.
The skit they are talking about was a VERY quick 3 second thing where nixon said "sock it to me"...a running gag line on the show
