i have made a couple of kanzashi flowers for a few years now and it is so, so nice to see some of the little ways that petals are made. I don't read japanese and i had to figure it out from my japanese book, and lots of things can get lost without reading the instructions.
Also, do you make your own rice starch? I am running out of mine and i am unsure of where to get some more (the place i used to buy from stopped doing it.)
I am inspired by your work! I would love to try creating some beautiful pieces myself some day soon, but I have many questions. Are you available to answer them?
with all do respect , what's the difference between "Tsumami" and "Tsunami " ? I like to learn ...Excuse me if this could be an annoying question ...It is out off the topic anyhow..
I understand that you became confused by the similar sound. There are many Japanese words sound similar to each other, but we distinguish the meaning by the character, but not by the sounds of the words.
Confusion was not by the spell( sound) , I was able to hear the difference ( I would love to learn Jappanese language)- but is was by the letters ( writting) . I was already knowing what "Tsunami" means ... Your explanation was helped me, than kyou very much .
I wanted to revise my typo "Tsumami(津波)" to "TsuNami" so I re-post this.

Hello, milkytinaben. Thank you very much for your question.
"Tsumami" (摘み)means "pinching", "tweaking", or "picking". We say "Tsumami Kanzashi" because we skillfully "pinch" a two dimensional piece of square silk fabric with a tweezer to create a three dimensional art.
"Tsunami"(津波)means the dramatic tidal wave caused by the earthquake.
