in terms of this video being fake or real i don't really care but to me she looked like a very sporty person. sporty type people; i am guessing, would their muscles already not be extremely toned and flexible, so handling these kinds of exercise and bending would seem normal practice, so my question is would being a sporty person have a quicker recovery time than an average healthy person and therefore that's why she seemed to be handling these exercises so well
I just had ACL reconstructive srugery and i can assure you....one day after the surgery i was hobbling around with a frame for about 2 minutes before i had to lay back down for 2 hours plus morphine......
This is very real. My 14 year old daughter just had her ACL repaired by Dr. Sanders on Wednesday August 3, 2011. Today is August 6, 2011 and she had done everything I have seen in the videos from the Sanders Clinic. She had a complete ACL reconstruction. She is already bending her knees to 145 degrees. Dr. Sanders has called everyday to the Therapist, Allen, to check on her progress. She is only three days out and is completely walking. In her case she has had very little pain. Video comig
this does look fake...i had acl surgery and yea i was up and on high heels by the weekend but i i wasnt able to put my legs up like that on the next day..its crap
This is either fake or just showing a really unique situation. The I had a hammy-ACL reconstruction and the aim of the program was to be able to be fully weight bearing in two weeks. It is possible that someone might be able to walk without crutches but when your knee is that swollen and tender you would be doing more harm than good. Have to say this looks like bullshit
This is completely fake. I've done hours and hours of research on ACL repairs including patella, hamstring and cadaver grafts and there is no possible way a patient can be walking 24 hours after surgery. FAKE FAKE FAKE
it's not fake. healing changes from person to person. Mine has been a week and ı'm doing pretty good. not like that gal ,but generally better than most people. I guess its because I used to do sports and my leg is very strong. But wondering when will the strange feeling be gone..
Its one day after surgery??? Just looking at the selling on her knee it is probably a fake or a minor surgery. Im not being negative because i didn't achieve what she did but from what i've been told, seen and read it seems unlikely
I find this video hard to believe. I had mine done at the University of Michigan. The same doctor that works on Michigan athletes. I was throwing up the next day. Unless this girl is a superwoman, there is no way she would not be crying while being forced to bend her knee. I was advised against cadaver transplants because of the high rejection rate. "Can i dance salsa and meringue?" that line is just cheeseballs and a bit scripted along with the music. With all due respect, this is scripted.
I remenber the day after my ACL surgery in which the tendon was harvested from the same knee. I was able to get up and walk, not to this extent but walk all the same.
The reason I could do this was because I was on super strong pain killers!!

Its been 5 days since my surgery and i carnt walk like this, how the hell is she doing it, im walking still with a bent knee as i carnt compleetely straighten it
i tore my ACL three times and i was on my butt all three times after surgery..i went to rehab probably the next week and the farthest i could bend my knee was about 70 degrees or so..so idk how shes doing this but i guess all people are different..but i couldn't do any of the things she is doing so its kind of hard to believe sorry to say.

Dr. Sanders...have you ever done ACL avulsion fracture repairs? I live too far away and am 7 weeks into recovery...but just to keep in mind because if things do not continue to go well...I do not want to mess with it and will consider traveling.
I have not repaired an avulsion fracture in an adult in many years. The results usually lead to a persistant flexion contracture, something that I almost never see anymore in a reconstruction. In short, a better result identical to that seen in the videos can be expected with the standard ACLR

I got my acl done a week ago...used some hamstring and i wont be able to fully weight bear for at least another 3 weeks im sorry i cant believe this video
I believe its real. Definitely not normal results, her legs look strong and the surgeon must be really good too. I know a girl who had two ACL surgeries and did not need to use crutches after either and had a quick recovery similar to this.

I don't think this is fake at all. I'm 17 and I've already had an ACL reconstruction surgery done on my right leg, but that was with a hamstring graft from the same leg. That was a very long recovery. I recently tore my ACL in my left leg and now I'm going to use the patella tendon graft. I really hope that my recovery and rehab can be even close to this. I'm super jealous! haha I hope to be walking like that in about 5 days post op.
Is walking one day post op versus five or even ten days going to make a drastic difference in the outcome NO. It would be different if they had this person jumping and doing multi-directional movements. Go watch Nate Adams documentary and you will see where they got him out of bed and standing one day post op femur nail. It's not an ACL but the idea is the same get them up get them moving. Again I am not endorsing Dr. Sanders.
I have no affiliation with Dr. Sanders. What I do have is fifteen plus years working in rehabilitation as an Athletic Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Specialist. There is nothing "magical" about Dr. Sanders program both surgically and with rehab. I have had the same results in my practice. What you do have is a committed Doctor, patient, and rehab personnel. I can tell you from experience that if any one of those pieces is missing you will have poor outcomes.
This is soooooo fake!!! I cannot even believe that somebody would believe this. I have known several people with ACL reconstructions several different ways. I personally have had 3 ACL reconstructions 3 different ways. This is fake and there is no way of convincing me it is real! It seems like the girl is talking off a script.

@sandersclinic I'm a 17 year old and 2 years ago i tore my ACL, and had a keyhole hamstring ACL reconstruction, and after a year i still didnt have the full strength back, and it tore again after 9 month., not my knee very loose and even dislocated 3 times last night
according to this video this person appears to have no pain at all and can do full leg extensions, and is also not walking with any kind of limp. It really is hard to believe. I just got my acl and meniscus repaired 3 days ago and i can do quite a bit of exercises too but I have to take pain killers to control the pain!
fake!! doctors say after acl-operation ABSOLUTELY NO PRESSURE on the first day!! after that you start with little kilos. i was allowed to walk without walking frames only after 2 weeks!!
This video is BS. There is no way they can pull a patellar to replace ACL and have this much motion in one day, let alone have her walking around on it. I can see maybe a cadaver, but no way this is possible. Also, no swelling?
@mrhyak No, this video is NOT fake. It is real. I am one of Dr. Sanders' patients, and he does this stuff all the time. He is an excellent surgeon. There is a reason why he was named Houston's TOP DOC, and he also has a Facebook fan page. And he's has a great personality, too. Ask anyone in his waiting room, and they'll confirm that he is a great surgeon!!
Well, I don't know with any certainty that this isn't possible. But my personal experience was a full replacement, coupled with a meniscus repair. I can say with confidence that it would take anyone a few weeks minimum to recover some semblance of mobility in that event. However, as I understand it this particular procedure was much less invasive, and didn't entail as high an extent of repair. That being stated, if this is entirely truthful, it is remarkable. Keep up the good work.
this is so fake because i have had my acl done 4 weeks ago and i know what it feels like and i could not do any thing for a week. secondly if this was real how becomes pro footballers have the same treat meet as me when football clubs can pay millions for a player and when hes acl ruptures they are out for 7 months to a year if you could recover this quick all clubs would be paying for this treatment !

I dont believe that this video is fake. I had an allograft(cadaver) graft done on July 2nd, and I was able to do these actions the day after the surgery. When you harvest the patella tendon from the affected side, it increases the inflammation in the area leading to a slower and less effective recovery. I can see how taking the patella tendon from the other leg effectively makes this an allograft procedure, mixing the short recovery time with the safeness of your own tissue.
@sandersclinic im sorry but it is hard to believe this. this looks more like a minor meniscus surgery result rather than a bone patella graft.. im not saying its impossible to move around as it is an outpatient thing sometimes but defenitely not without a brace. the patella graft takes some time to attach to the bone and she should not have such range of motion just a day after. ofcourse i may be wrong since im not a professional and if this is true then you have achieved something monumental.
@zapface94 im not disagreeing with you but if it was a meniscus tear then it takes about 3 months or so to get back to a sport (normally) so idk what this is but still hard to believe since i tore my acl 3 times alredy. :(
totally agree wiv every1 hee this is totally fake.sorry but no way can he do that after 1 day.i had an acl reconstruction using the hamstrig+ a Meniscal Repair of the left knee n couldnt walk on the knee for 4 wks because of the meniscal repair so no way could he do all that after only a day
im a non beleiver. funny how they use a hot chick. reminded me of a porno. thought at the end was just gonna bust out into a big orgy. if this is so great why arnt the worlds greatest athletes getting this kind of treatment for there injuries? if it is true then wowza ill crack a fair dinkum stiff one

If this is real, and I want to believe that it is, then this Clinic has stumbled across some sort or miracle for postoperative recovery. There is simply no way that the surgical process would allow the tight bending without extreme pain. Maybe the patient was drinking some sort of very strong 'mixture' disguised as water.
This is so fake. SOme businesses will do anything to drum up business. Must be slow in the ACL reconstruction department. I have had my left ACL done (bone-patellar-bone) and can positively say this is bogus. I recovered extremely quickly but nobody does this.
If they had showed the incision you'd see it is far from fresh.
This is not fake. It has been made with my patient and under my direction. The mere fact that dozens of videos have been posted, with many different persons involved such at patients, therapists, and office workers, should make the light go off in your head. It just aint possible to involve so many people in a fraudulent action.
I am sorry that your experience with ACL surgery has been a bitter one.
This is soooooo fake!!! I cannot even believe that somebody would believe this. I have known several people with ACL reconstructions several different ways. @BondConsultingEngInc I really dont think it is fake, 24hours after my ACL Reconstruction using my hamstring i could pretty much walk straight away the only thing that really stopped me was the dizzieness from the anasthetic. My hamstring graft was taking from the same leg, i also had a pump that went into my knee for pain for 24hours. I am 2 and a half months post op and im doing great ive started balance work/ running/jumping etc Couple of months i will be turning. Physio is the key.
@BondConsultingEngInc there are differnet rehabilitation programmes in place the new 'accelerated programme would enable you to begin weight bearing ASAP, depending on your strength and ROM prior to the surgery.
This would be nice if it was real...unfortunately your muscles wont heal and get strong that fast (1 day) not to mention splitting open the fresh wound bending the knee like that. There is no way around the healing process, for the worlds best athletes it takes at least 6 months (WITH THE BEST TREATMENT AVAILABLE) to heal and get back to around 85-90%....
wth i just had acl reconstruction surgery done on my left knee,on the 21st, using a cadaver graft. i can hardly move my leg at all without having to pick it up with my hands.im also still on crutches and hardly able to put any weight on it. in a lot of pain too.how can i do physical therapy if it hurts so bad?i am taking percs, felxeral, and baby asprin. i also take lyrica and ativan for something else. but even with all these drugs im still hurting :(
dis regard my last comment. If this is real You do Awesome work. Guess I am just jealous I am not able to bend my knee fully 8 days after. What do you recommend to gain my range of motion back?
BS. There is no way her legs are that straight 1 day after. I am at 7 days after reconstruction and I am almost at full extension. My angle is only 90 degrees. I am pushing it fully.
I would say that this video is possible. It is a totally different operation than getting operation on only one knee. It is a lot less tramatic on one knee which is why they may be able to walk and the recovery is quicker. Although I would disagree with this video acting like this surgery is the way to go. Any surgery will cause problems with your body and instead of one leg experiencing later problems both will. And Sanders don't deceive people just to encourage more business for yourself.
Just had mine done 12 days ago and I'm just starting to ween off crutches. My girlfriend tore hers and was walking on day 3. I find this video unbelievable too. I was in A LOT of pain until a couple days ago. I had a top notch surgeon who fixes professional and college athletes and performs multiple ACL surgery every week, so i have a hard time believing it's his fault my recovery has been slow.
guys this is true althou i was freaked out but when i told my doctor he told me that this is 100% true and there is various cases, by the way i had back slab for 1 months becous of my injury (the unhappy traingel) and asked me to be paichent and thank god now its 4.5 months after the sergury and i doin every thing exept for (jugging+runing+hightjumps) and he told me to wait 6 months after the surgery or until he tells me i can :S isnt that taking a bit 2 long doctor THANK YOU
Come on. No one in their right mind would believe this. If it is too hard to believe it is. Beyond the obvious, she is going beyond 90% on her knee. She would have torn her meniscus. I am on my 5 week and I am still on crutches and cannot drive for 6 weeks. I have heard many horror stories of what happens if you go with the wrong doctor. Go to one that works on professional athletes. Sorry Dr. Tuxedo, but i cannot tell a lie on your behalf.
@AndraFilm I am guessing you meant to say 90 degrees and not 90 percent. If you did mean 90 percent please explain. If you meant 90 degrees why would she have torn her meniscus?
@ACLCENTRALdotCOM 90 degrees. I don't know where the degree symbol is on my keyboard. Anyways, based on my own experience, it takes about six weeks for repairs on a meniscus to heal. If you have more questions I can give you the number to my physician's assistant or surgeon at the University of Michigan. I am 2 months out now and my knee is still painful and has taken a great deal of PT to get to where I am now. So please do not believe what you see.
Fully weight bearing, grinning, and almost gait-normal walking one day post surgery?
Anyone who beleives this would also beleive that you can be back to breakdancing one week post op. This is a total nonsense, ask anyone who has had an acl reconstruction roughly what their rehab was. I mean anyone who hasnt got a self interest in promoting their own surgery,
no pain no nothing?? you just go in and walk out like your at Wal-Mart. I can maybe understand walking but i mean you just got your legs sliced into. How do you just walk away from that. Unless they smoked that much weed to heal the pain in 24 fkn hours
I agree with all of you, this video is fake. I had my ACL surgery 6 weeks ago. I could not walk for the first week. Also I was using a brace. The first 48hrs is very critical and you will be under the influence of anesthesia. So there is no way that she can walk like that with no problem in the first day. What are the odds that you can tear both of your right and left ACL as the same time? Cant believe it. This is a fake video
I am pleased to inform you all but this video is real and made under my direction. This young woman did not have ACLRs on both legs. She had a tendon graft harvested from one leg, and ACLR on the other.
Most folks believe they got the best treatment available and their doc is a superstar. It is impossible for them to believe that they have suffered so much while another person just about got off scott free. Their minds order them to call an better alternative a fake.
As the doc said she did not tear both ACLs. The graft comes from the leg that has a good ACL. I hope your anesthesia didn't last 48 hours and if it did make sure you never go back to that anesthesiologist again. Dr. Sanders performed my surgery and what you see in this video is what every ACL patient does on day 1. I forgot to mention his patients walk out of the recovery room with out crutches or a brace. Dr. Sander's Accelerated ACL Rehabilitation is the best hands down.
My anesthesia lasted for about 48hours. The thing that it seems not reasonable to me is that now you have two incision in the 2 knees. How this can speed the recovery process. It also would increase the chance of infection. if you use your own graft your body will be weak at least in the first day after post-op
I am sorry you did not receive the best treatment available, but that is no excuse to call someone a liar when you know not what you are talking about.
you dont know what you are taking about either. You are here to promote your site
ACLCENTRALdotCOM. if some one else can say that it possible to walk in the first day after the surgery. i searched everywhere and no one says that he/she walked after the first day. So please be realistic, you got two incisions and two screws in one knee and you walked normal in the first day come on. Think before you talk
I walked after the 1st day. I had mine done by Dr. Tadashi Funahashi @ Kaiser Permenente in Orange County. The current method for the clinics that are up to date is that the knee needs to be weight baring and moving ASAP.
The longer you put it off, the more scar tissue you build up that really messes up and prolongs or prevents rehabilitation.
The guys I know who didn't have great outcomes are the guys who were wusses and didn't get on their feet and/or do their stretches.
I have no screws. You are really showing your lack of ACL reconstruction research. You just keep spewing your ignorance. You know so much I bet your doc and therapist have it easy. I am here because Dr. Sanders did a great job on my knee. If he had not I would be here letting you know that. I wish you the best in your recovery and pray you don't have to go through it all again.
what you mean you dont have screws, i hope your doc did not use glue. I know what i am talking bout. search you tube and you will see that the surgery requires screws. it seems you are showing more ignorance than anyone that i have talked before. just send me approve that the ACL reconstruction could be done without screws and i will believe you.
I am sure YouTube is really happy they are your sole source for medical research!! I now know who made your graft choice for you. Great job aelgawis!!! You have once again proven why they must print the words "DO NOT EAT" on descant packs.
I did say search youtube because i know you have limit mind and brain so you wont understand any better. It seems that do not understand what i asked you and keep talking out of your --s. So i asked you to provide me with a proof showing or stating that the ACL reconstruction could be done without screws (use your medical research a talent if you have any). If you dont post the proof, stop replying and go have a life
Enough. Google "linvatec_sportsmedicine_newsletter6.pdf " and click on the link which ends in newsletter6.pdf. It illustrates a strength test of a few fixation devices. Notice how low your screws are on the chart. This is only a few of the many fixation method/devices. I would like to apologize to Dr. Sanders for polluting his comments with our childish bickering..
I am not a med student. I graduated from medical school 29 years ago. My name is Mark Sanders and I am a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon with a Supspecialty Certificate in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. I have a medical liscence in NY and Texas and practice in Houston and Gainesville, Texas. This videos are of real patients at the post op times noted and have been made under my direction. If you see an old bald guy with a bowtie in the video its me.
I am a med student and I can tell you for a fact that this is fake. First of all the person would be in way too much pain within the first 24 hours of undergoing an ACL reconstruction to walk let alone get the full range of motion n the knee, and no doctor on earth would advise walking so early after surgery to begin with.
The therapist said she would feel her best during therapy. He could not have said anything more true. The best I feel is during therapy. I am 4 weeks post-op and it has been like that since day one. The more I move the better I feel. But don't do any more than you are instructed to do. The extra work will cause more harm than good. They know what they are doing so listen to them. Visit ACLCENTRALdotCOM to talk about your or your child's acl injury and recovery.
We typically use the patella tendon autograft. This, of course, depends on the patient, their history, medical condition, and future goals. Please visit our website listed in the video summary for more information. Thanks for watching!
The literature supporting early ROM and exercise is plentiful. Two journals to look into are "The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery" and "The American Journal of Sports Medicine". You can find more information on ACL accelerated rehab at our website listed in the video summary. Thanks for watching!
Is it possible to request this type of rehab to my doctor ? I'm in Toronto Canada and my ACL reconstruction + meniscus repair sugery is due in 2 months...
Your rehab should be determined by your doctor. It is unlikely that your doctor will change his/her rehab protocol. If you are unsatisfied with your current plan, you might want to find a new doctor. Thanks for watching!
I actually tore my patella, dislocated my knee cap,and fractured my tibia and they put two screws and a pin in my knee.I don't know how they can just take the whole patella tendon from the opposite knee but awesome recovery!! =]
The surgery involves taking 1/3 of the tendon (approximately 10 mm), not the entire tendon. For more information on the details of the surgery, please visit our website in the video summary. Thanks for watching!
wow that is amazing, how is that possible. I had acl surgery on the 16th of january with a patella tendon from the same knee, and I am still on crutches and not able to walk proper.
Part of it is because the patella tendon was taken from the opposite knee. This allows you to cut your total rehab in half, essentially. Another reason is that our patients begin rehab in the recovery room so as to prevent stiffness, and ultimately, an incorrect gait. Please visit our website in the summary for more information. Thanks for watching and best of luck with your recovery!
It is possible, and doctor never let me use crutches, but a lot of excercises :) This is my 5ht week after surgery and I can do lot of things without a problem...check out all i can do now... clicking on 5 weeks after ACL reconstruction @ sanders clinic.

Video comig

Dr. Sanders...have you ever done ACL avulsion fracture repairs? I live too far away and am 7 weeks into recovery...but just to keep in mind because if things do not continue to go well...I do not want to mess with it and will consider traveling.
swimchica623 1 year ago
@swimchica623
I have not repaired an avulsion fracture in an adult in many years. The results usually lead to a persistant flexion contracture, something that I almost never see anymore in a reconstruction. In short, a better result identical to that seen in the videos can be expected with the standard ACLR

This video is BS. There is no way they can pull a patellar to replace ACL and have this much motion in one day, let alone have her walking around on it. I can see maybe a cadaver, but no way this is possible. Also, no swelling?

JTWebsites 1 year ago
Well, I don't know with any certainty that this isn't possible. But my personal experience was a full replacement, coupled with a meniscus repair. I can say with confidence that it would take anyone a few weeks minimum to recover some semblance of mobility in that event. However, as I understand it this particular procedure was much less invasive, and didn't entail as high an extent of repair. That being stated, if this is entirely truthful, it is remarkable. Keep up the good work.

If this is real, and I want to believe that it is, then this Clinic has stumbled across some sort or miracle for postoperative recovery. There is simply no way that the surgical process would allow the tight bending without extreme pain. Maybe the patient was drinking some sort of very strong 'mixture' disguised as water.
huntingman007 1 year ago
This is so fake. SOme businesses will do anything to drum up business. Must be slow in the ACL reconstruction department. I have had my left ACL done (bone-patellar-bone) and can positively say this is bogus. I recovered extremely quickly but nobody does this.

GeneratedUK 6 months ago
@BondConsultingEngInc there are differnet rehabilitation programmes in place the new 'accelerated programme would enable you to begin weight bearing ASAP, depending on your strength and ROM prior to the surgery.
jesstar05 5 months ago
This would be nice if it was real...unfortunately your muscles wont heal and get strong that fast (1 day) not to mention splitting open the fresh wound bending the knee like that. There is no way around the healing process, for the worlds best athletes it takes at least 6 months (WITH THE BEST TREATMENT AVAILABLE) to heal and get back to around 85-90%....
Verdict : FAKE

BS. There is no way her legs are that straight 1 day after. I am at 7 days after reconstruction and I am almost at full extension. My angle is only 90 degrees. I am pushing it fully.
FreaK42WheelZ 1 year ago
I would say that this video is possible. It is a totally different operation than getting operation on only one knee. It is a lot less tramatic on one knee which is why they may be able to walk and the recovery is quicker. Although I would disagree with this video acting like this surgery is the way to go. Any surgery will cause problems with your body and instead of one leg experiencing later problems both will. And Sanders don't deceive people just to encourage more business for yourself.

ACLCENTRALdotCOM 1 year ago

This is a fake video
aelgawis 2 years ago

Just a quick question, how did this athlete recover is she back practicing her sport again?
rehanb 1 year ago
As the doc said she did not tear both ACLs. The graft comes from the leg that has a good ACL. I hope your anesthesia didn't last 48 hours and if it did make sure you never go back to that anesthesiologist again. Dr. Sanders performed my surgery and what you see in this video is what every ACL patient does on day 1. I forgot to mention his patients walk out of the recovery room with out crutches or a brace. Dr. Sander's Accelerated ACL Rehabilitation is the best hands down.
ACLCENTRALdotCOM 2 years ago
My anesthesia lasted for about 48hours. The thing that it seems not reasonable to me is that now you have two incision in the 2 knees. How this can speed the recovery process. It also would increase the chance of infection. if you use your own graft your body will be weak at least in the first day after post-op
aelgawis 2 years ago
I am sorry you did not receive the best treatment available, but that is no excuse to call someone a liar when you know not what you are talking about.

ACLCENTRALdotCOM. if some one else can say that it possible to walk in the first day after the surgery. i searched everywhere and no one says that he/she walked after the first day. So please be realistic, you got two incisions and two screws in one knee and you walked normal in the first day come on. Think before you talk
aelgawis 2 years ago
@aelgawis
I walked after the 1st day. I had mine done by Dr. Tadashi Funahashi @ Kaiser Permenente in Orange County. The current method for the clinics that are up to date is that the knee needs to be weight baring and moving ASAP.
The longer you put it off, the more scar tissue you build up that really messes up and prolongs or prevents rehabilitation.

what you mean you dont have screws, i hope your doc did not use glue. I actually tore my patella, dislocated my knee cap,and fractured my tibia and they put two screws and a pin in my knee.I don't know how they can just take the whole patella tendon from the opposite knee but awesome recovery!! =]
ChrisTech213 3 years ago
The surgery involves taking 1/3 of the tendon (approximately 10 mm), not the entire tendon. For more information on the details of the surgery, please visit our website in the video summary. Thanks for watching!

wow that is amazing, how is that possible. I had acl surgery on the 16th of january with a patella tendon from the same knee, and I am still on crutches and not able to walk proper.
phshockey27 3 years ago
Part of it is because the patella tendon was taken from the opposite knee. This allows you to cut your total rehab in half, essentially. Another reason is that our patients begin rehab in the recovery room so as to prevent stiffness, and ultimately, an incorrect gait. Please visit our website in the summary for more information. Thanks for watching and best of luck with your recovery!
