This plane is ugly. Looks like an experimental prototype than actual operational unit. And why do they need this and the Berkut and now T-50, in addition to the Mig-29 and Su-37? The Sukhoi Su-37, now there's a beautiful plane! Graceful, powerful, manuverable and deadly.

This is a prototype for the PFI russian project, also refered to as MIG 1.42 or MIG 1.44. It is an inrcraft that weighed more than the Yak-141, was never intended to be carrier bound, the engine intakes are under the aircraft and not parallel to the fuselage, it was meant to be semi-stealth, have supercruise and other properties not found in the YAK-141
@52111centrumcz I believe that's called a Yak-36, the STOVL aircraft thing- this is the Yak 141. I believe everything you have said does not aply to the "MiG-39" which is destined to be almost exactly like the MiG-35 but it is tue about the Yak-141.
Just type Yak-141 into youtube search and watch a vid. The mig-35 is a deep upgrade of the Mig-29 with new engines, avionics, weapon hardpoints, engine intake and radar modifications. Basically an all-new aircraft that just retains the shape.

@JASHVEER22 It was a test for a future design. More then anything they were playing with the idea of coating over stealth looks but the canards in the front killed it. Also note that this was a test run to see who would build the new stealth fighter. Su-47 was the contester to this MiG-1.44 and Sukhoi won the contract - later early 2010 coming up with PAK FA T-50. Tupolev is now working on a new stealth bomber program. Hope that helped :)

This plane is ugly. Looks like an experimental prototype than actual operational unit. And why do they need this and the Berkut and now T-50, in addition to the Mig-29 and Su-37? The Sukhoi Su-37, now there's a beautiful plane! Graceful, powerful, manuverable and deadly.

@GCSDanger its unbelievable how stupid russians are on youtube. The only argument they have against the F22 is to call it crap without any reason. Yeah russian fighters have a few good things going for them but the russians need to get their heads out of their asses and realize that the F-22 is the best plane in the world at almost everything. America was pioneering aviation technology before the Russians even knew that airplanes existed. Plus russian stealth =pathetic, you cant even see the F22

@Direwolf56 Well I would say Russkies disparage the F-22 because it is overhyped. And you were wrong, the Russian airforce of 1914 was better equipped than the american one, which is funny since americans built the one of the first well functional aircraft. Russkies also pioneered the idea of Para units. The F-22 is NOT the best plane at almost everything. It is superior to any other at long range BVR engagements and attacking SAMs by using standoff weapons.

@FighterGuDude3214 Well, to be truthfull...NO. The Yak-141 is a one engine STOVL capable aircraft built in the 1970s. This is a prototype for the PFI russian project, also refered to as MIG 1.42 or MIG 1.44. It is an inrcraft that weighed more than the Yak-141, was never intended to be carrier bound, the engine intakes are under the aircraft and not parallel to the fuselage, it was meant to be semi-stealth, have supercruise and other properties not found in the YAK-141

@52111centrumcz I believe that's called a Yak-36, the STOVL aircraft thing- this is the Yak 141. I believe everything you have said does not aply to the "MiG-39" which is destined to be almost exactly like the MiG-35 but it is tue about the Yak-141.

Just type Yak-141 into youtube search and watch a vid. The mig-35 is a deep upgrade of the Mig-29 with new engines, avionics, weapon hardpoints, engine intake and radar modifications. Basically an all-new aircraft that just retains the shape.

? And that is relevant to the fact that you misidentified the aircraft in the video in what way? And yes, the parallels you drew to the MIG-31 and Mig-25 being related is similar to the mig-29 and mig-35. However the mig-25 to mig-31 has increased G tolerance and other tweaks that improve the performance a lot, while the mig-29 to mig-35 improve mainly the avionics, and a little more engine power with the RD-33K re-engining.

@JASHVEER22 It was a test for a future design. More then anything they were playing with the idea of coating over stealth looks but the canards in the front killed it. Also note that this was a test run to see who would build the new stealth fighter. Su-47 was the contester to this MiG-1.44 and Sukhoi won the contract - later early 2010 coming up with PAK FA T-50. Tupolev is now working on a new stealth bomber program. Hope that helped :)

I have never had an issue with them and i would feel safer walking the streets there than in america. and going by your quality respect, remember, most military innovations that the US use have been derived from stolen ideas developed in nazi germany or by the russians.
