  • Ty so much for this informative video! Had no idea how unsafe it was the way I've been doing my own nails. I will definitely be practicing the things you've shown. Do you know much about the ASP/Aspire line? That's the kind I get and I purchase it from Sally's Beauty Supplies. Is this a good product? It works fine for me, just wanted your input. Thanks again! :)

  • Thank you for doing this video!! Very important (and scary) information! I like to do my own nails, and still use primer and very lightly buff my nails. I should probably not do that anymore...

  • @vianneylu1 You are most welcome. You probably shouldn't. However, if you have lifting problems, primer would help, but the important thing is not to allow skin contact at all! Apply it only to the eponychium area and you should be fine. The buffing is OK for oil, but not recommended just before acrylic application. Let me know if I can be of any help. visit me on facebook for more tips and info. Thanks for watching. ◦◕‿◕◦

  • @vianneylu1 You are very welcome! If you must use primer try switching to acid-free. It's safer. And save the buffing for oil. ◦◕‿◕◦ Let me know if I can be of any help.

Visit me on FaceBook for more tips, information, and lots of nail art photos.

    Thanks for watching.

  • Yes, I know Lechat. That link didn't work for me, but if your talking about their "gel powder" system...That system is either a thickened adhesive or a gel. Neither were meant to be combined with a powder. It's a marketing gimmick. That combination will make weak enhancements that are subject to cracking, breaking, and service breakdown. There is no such thing as a gel powder. I hope this helps. ◦◕‿◕◦

  • HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF LECHAT??? Its like some kind of gel and powder process together, what do you think of this??/ do you think the product is just plain gel and acrylic?? thats what i've been hearing, I wanted to know your opinion on this??

heres a link to the process:

    youtubecom/watch?v=_9OMzgKAUMA

  • The beads used in this video were meant to show l-p ratio and consistency, they were not placed to show proper application. For acrylic application you’d place the bead ¼ inch away from the eponychium, and use the flags of your brush to press and push acrylic 1/8 inch away from the eponychium. By doing this you’ll get acrylic lying smooth and flush with the natural nail. Thanks for watching. ◦◕‿◕◦

  • In this video it looked like when you pressed your first bead you had a gap between the acrylic and the epinychium. When polish is applied, it makes this gap more obvious. How does one obtain a smooth look without gaps? What about fills after your nail grows out? Do you power file along the skin and apply acrylic? What is your approach?

    Thanks

    Kim

  • You are so right! I recently started taking a course here locally and they pointed out the proper use of nail dehydrators. I personally have taken primers out my technique and changed it with the dehydrate. great vid by the way

  • @SexySecrets4All Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Be sure to visit me on facebook:

    WildSide Nailz. ◦◕‿◕◦

  • mymain choice of product is NSI, my sister when to cosmetology school and she learned how to nails and used to do mine, she stopped doing them, and that inspired me to start doing nails, luckily i never use primers, not because i didnt want to, but because i literally NEVER remember to put it on :), after watching this video i see that wasnt a bad thing after all, i really love nails and want to go to school for it after i finish my 1st degree and your knowledge is really helping me prepare :)

  • @finessence808 I'm glad to hear your starting yourself off in the right direction. Anything I can do to help don't hesitate to ask. I wish you the best of luck in you studies. ◦◕‿◕◦

  • @finessence808 I did forget to mention this. I too am an NSI tech, but unfortunately they just do not have the color options to keep up with my clients demand for 3-D acrylic nail art. I compensate by using other brands of acrylic (CND, Organic, Artisan) to sculpt 3-D acrylic. This is perfectly ok to do since 3-D acrylic nail art is on top of the nails, and not part of its structure… just in case you were wondering. ◦◕‿◕◦

  • @LadyNailz so you did like the organic acrylics????? ive recently made my first purchase and havent used them yet, i cant wait!!!

    p.s. i love the smiley face ~*(^_^)*~

  • @finessence808 I love the Organic acrylics! Amazing! You're going to love them! I'm after the Gama collection and the new Disco... mind blowing colors! ◦◕‿◕◦ ◦◕‿◕◦ ◦◕‿◕◦ ◦◕‿◕◦ <<< extras just for you.

  • @LadyNailz thank you so much, kast question for today: whats your advice on brush cleaners???

  • @finessence808 If you spend a fortune on your acrylic brushes like I do ($45-$50 a pop) stay away from brush cleaners that contain acetone. If you want to prolong the life of your good sable, use only monomer to clean your brush, and maintain its shape when not in use. Only use non-acetone brush cleaner if you have to remove dried acrylic in your brush.

  • @LadyNailz sorry last 1, how do you do that (clean brush with monomer), and what brand is a non acetone brush cleaner???

  • @finessence808 Use monomer to clean your brush the same way you would if it was brush cleaner. Swish your brush side to side (rinsing) in a dampen dish or other small dish. Wait, i'll PM you with a couple of links.

  • @LadyNailz OMG i didnt realize there was so much i needed to know, hope im not testing your patience :)

but what would be the best nail files to use?? i use e-file for shaving & i want to switch to using normal nail files to file all around. what brands have you tried? i use NSI's and i love them, but i have a tammy taylor buffer & sometimes wonder if i should use it but it says its for gel. also can i use files and buffers on both acrylic and gel, even if it says its for one or the other???

  • @finessence808 whats the best sable brush you've ever used and which brands do you reccomend??? I prefer using a #10 brush just for personal preference but most manufacture #8's....

Also, whats your take on powder gels??

  • @finessence808 p3 omg im a maniac, I just remeber you saying something about working for NSI is the WINNIMING WHITE the purest best white out there????

  • @finessence808 I’m an NSI tech, and while a lot people think I'm an educator for NSI, I am not, not officially. I'm sorry but I'm not sure what you meant by: "WINNIMING WHITE." But I do think NSI's "Radiant white" is the brightest I've ever used. I hope this helps. ◦◕‿◕◦

  • @LadyNailz no theres a new white that NSI has on the website, and it says that its the whitest one ever its called winning white sorry lol thank for everything ~*(^_^)*~

  • @finessence808 Oooh, ok, I'm sorry I misunderstood you. No, I haven't tried NSI's new white, but if its supposed to be brighter and whiter than the radiant... then I'd definitely go with that. ◦◕‿◕◦

  • @LadyNailz does the Universal Nail Liquid work just as good with the attraction powders???? whats the difference between it and the Attraction Nail Liquid???

  • @finessence808 It sure does. The only real difference between the two monomers is NSI's Universal monomer is clear in color, meaning it has no UV protection in it. The Attraction monomer is violet colored because it has a UV inhibitor in it.

  • @LadyNailz whats the UV protection do? how come you have the GRAND kolinsky #8 instead of the Royal Precision, do they do the same things too???

Oh, and I found the book by Douglas Schoon on Amazon today!!!!

  • @finessence808 UV inhibitors prevent nails from turning yellow in the sun. Brushes are just a matter of choice, and what’s best for the job. I only have the grand kolinsky #8 because it came with NSI pro kit I purchased a couple of years ago. But nothing can part me from my Grand Master Precision Sculptor. And if you found Doug's book... girl, get it ASAP!!!! I swear you won't be sorry. It literally is the bible of nails.

  • @finessence808 Yes, they do the same thing.

  • @LadyNailz so both brushes are made of the same things?? im going to purchase the book, i think it will be worth it, and the price its decent, im super excited!!!

  • @finessence808 Yes. Either brush is fine. Good for you with the book. I'm excited for you. I can't wait for you to get into school. You keep me posted with that, OK? ◦◕‿◕◦

  • @LadyNailz i want thank you for all your patience and knowledge, i will cherish everything you've given me, no one else on here ever answered all the questions i was struggling with, i will keep praticing and will apply all of the new education immediately!! I have about a year left before i get my degree, so i should be able to enroll next year fall semester ~*(^_^)*~

Thank you for everything, ill be sure to check back if I have anymore questions

  • @finessence808 You are so welcome. I wish you the best of luck in all your endeavors. Keep practicing in the meantime, and I’m here if you need anything. ◦◕‿◕◦

  • @finessence808 Pt. 1)

I have many brushes. What size brush you use should depend on the size of the client’s nail beds. Using a brush too small will make extra work for you. Using a brush too big & you risk over-exposing your client to the chemicals.

  • @finessence808 Pt. 2)

I use my NSI grand Kolinsky #8 for clients with small to normal size nail beds. And my Grand Master Precision Sculptor #10 for larger nail beds like my own. My #10 is by Artisan and is from their Monet series. $45 and a steal at twice the price. The most amazing brush I’ve EVER picked up.

And there is no such thing as a powder gel. ◦◕‿◕◦

  • @finessence808 I enjoy educating & teaching, especially those so eager for proper knowledge. NSI are great files! I use them too. Any file that claims to be a “gel file” or “acrylic file” can be used for whatever you wanna use it for. They only say that so techs will learn to use the proper grit files for the job at hand. And that’s you’ll need to learn about files: using the proper grit. Ex: 80-grit is for acrylic & gel and should NEVER be used to file the natural nail.

  • @finessence808 I have sent you a link to my girl Lola’s YT channel, watch her video on "file grits."

If you have any more questions after, let me or her know. ◦◕‿◕◦

  • i have a quickie about when you say its bad to mix products...

when you say its bad to you meaning mixing like CND and NSI powders together to make another powder, or using them together???

FOR EXAMPLE: say i used a CND pink for the nail bed, for the design on the nail form/tip i use say organics colored acrrylic, and NSI to encapsulate the whole thing, is that dangerous???

by the way i absolutely ADORE that you give so much knowledge, this video really helped me with my acrylic beads

  • @finessence808 Pt 1) By mixing products I mean using more than one brand to sculpt the nails. It’s not dangerous, its just not wise to do so. Some companies won’t guarantee their products if they’re mixed with other brands. Some acrylic products aren’t compatible with other brands & you could end up with adverse effects with both the finished nails, & possible skin problems.

  • @finessence808 Pt 2)

It’s best to find a quality brand you like & stick with their products. I’m so glad my videos could be of help to you, that’s what I’m here for.

    Thanks for watching. ◦◕‿◕◦

  • Hi LadyNailz, I just wanted to say thank you so much for your videos, they've helped me understand how to do proper nails. I starting a course at college in september and im sure what ive learnt from you will be really helpful.

    Thanks again

  • @hayleyspencer18 You are so very welcome. Yes, the information contained in my videos will aid you greatly in your studies. Congratulations on your school, I wish you the best of luck. Please let me know If I can help in any way. ◦◕‿◕◦

  • @vivvz89 Look! You're not going win this conversation, Your point is ridiculous, as you say you haven't seen her, you're just assuming something!!!, she is not being anything but HELPFULL, professional, and thankfull for what this profession has given to her LOADS of knowlegde and experience wich she is sharing so stupid people who like to make things up dont do it with wrong information!!! SO be thankfull and stop trying to fix what doesn't need to be fixed!!! =)

  • Love your tutorials! Any chance you can send me links to sites for NSI products? I have a few, I just want to see whats out there..Have you heard of Nouveau brand? It's sold on PNI site, who makes nail drills and etc...I want to know if it's any good.

  • @CHiiCHii90 Thank you so much, I’m glad you enjoy the videos. I sent you a message with a couple of links where I purchase from. And I am familiar with Nouveau, they’re a generic brand—low quality. Good for practicing with, but I wouldn’t actually use it for doing nails.

Thank you for your support. ◦◕‿◕◦

  • where do u purchase your colored acrylic powders?

  • @yesica20100 "Nailtechheaven" and also "nailsuperstore"

    Thanks for commenting. : )

  • Is it expensive to go to nail school? I've always been fascinated at peoples nails when they get them done even though sometimes I look at them and go >,> sweet geezus what the heck were they thinking?! But lately I've gotten really interested in doing nails and it seems like something I would really enjoy doing... But I always change my mind a lot with what I wanna do with my life so yeah...

  • @ZINQ91 Beauty school (nail technology) was not expensive when I went, I think the whole course was under $1500. Now I have seen some states offering a nail technology only course for up to $10,000. Which I think is absolutely insane! Especially knowing students aren’t getting a proper education for that price. But it’s definitely worth looking into… there’s financial aid and grants available... Don’t give up, it’s worth the research—I promise! : )

  • omg i love your work very talented plz check out my channel and let me know what u think and if u like subscribe pls

  • @thecherrylady69 Thank you so much for your kind words, thanks for stopping by. : )

  • Could you please send me the websites for the quality professional products at reasonable prices? Thank you!

  • @Shawndac22 You bet I can... in fact I just did. : )

  • @Matty919 I get to everyone as quickly as I can, or else they'll seek advice elsewhere and it'll most likely be the wrong info. Like I stated in my video, you should never mix brands. Acrylic brands were meant to be used with their counterparts, and mixing them could have adverse effects. I have sent you a message with a couple of web site where you can purchase quality professional products at reasonable prices. Good luck to you, and let me know if I can be of further help. : )

  • wow u reply fast haha :) , where do u purchase your colored acrylic powders? and is it safe to use different monomer brand and a different acrylic powder brand? cause i think i read that in one of your videos.

  • and also is it just the monomer that i have to worry about the methyl methacrylate? do i have to worry about the ingredients in any acrylic powder? thank you!

  • @Matty919 Yes, just watch out for the liquid monomers... the MMA in powder is not the same

and is safe to use. : )

  • wow i'm so glad i saw your channel because i was going to buy this full acrylic set on ebay for 23$ with free shipping until one of the girls said that 'yichen' was a bad brand of liquid monomer. i'm just wondering if redi? is a good brand because i saw it on the 8ty8beauty site and do u think its safe to buy colored acrylic powder online because i don't know where else to look for colored acrylic powder.

btw im not a profession and im starting to do my own acrylics at home. thank you!

  • @Matty919 Hello, I have never heard of the brand "yichen.” That’s reason enough to stay away from it. As for the other brand… Redi is a low-quality generic brand of acrylic. Probably fine for practice, but not something you’d want to use long term. Yes you can purchase colored acrylic online, I buy all my nail supplies online. Just be sure to only purchase quality products. And stay clear of eBay no label acrylic products. It’s toxic waste.

  • i am using nsi liquid now and have no problem with it.i was using some liquid from b4 called: y.c acrylic liquid and yichen acrylic liquid from ebay if anyone is using these item pls get rid of it i am glad i did or else i would have been really sick by now.they smell horrible the scent can take over your house and it burns the chest and nose that was my experience from it.i saved the money and got some nsi products thats what i am using now.

  • @munajinx Good for you! If you experience any odd symptoms please see your doctor right away, and let him/her know you've been exposed to MMA. Congrats on the NSI products. Thank you for commenting. : )

  • I saw lately somebpdy using 80 grit file on natural nail. It was painful to watch. You are right. Its always about money and it will always be. All people cant afford best quality products and will never be able to afford and there will always be peopel who try to use 80 grit file. I think its good to make people understand the basics like you are doing. I hope that even if people cant use CND or NSI then they find as good procucts as possible and damage their nails as less as possible.

  • @Navitrolla I see it all the time and it’s so sad. They really have no clue they’re destroying their nails a layer at a time. CND & NSI are prime examples of quality professional products but at reasonable prices. So there is no excuse for anyone to be risking their health and nails. I’m so glad your enjoying the videos. : )

  • I love your videos. You're such a helpful tech who knows exactly what you're doing. I'm a huge nail enthusiast, I've recently decided to go with the NSI Attraction line too! Glad to know you recommend it. I wanted to know what type of electric nail file you use, and the grits of the carbide bits? That's the thing that's confusing me the most. LOL. Keep up the great videos.

  • @CHiiCHii90 I'm so glad to hear you're giving NSI a try, I'm so proud of you going with professional products. As for e-files, I don't use them; not for the appplication of acrylic, anyway. As you saw in the video, when the proper application is used, there is very little filing to do. Certainly not enough to require use of a damaging drill. Please let me know if I can be of any help with the new products. Good luck to you.

  • Since i started watching your vids i was shocked and amazed on how many things i was doing wrong. Thanks to you i am learning from my mistakes and im taking more precautions. But i have a question, in your opinion, what is the best acrylic brand that you would recommend?

  • @crazyflirt08 Pt 1) Good for you! I’m so glad I’m able to assist you. The first step to professionalism is knowing your mistakes and correcting them. So kudos to you! As for the best brand… I guess that could be a matter of opinion. The best brand of acrylic is one that is (of course) a professional brand, that has a smooth perfect consistency, pliable, with deep true to life coloring. I personally use NSI’s Attraction line, which lies within the elements I listed above.

  • @LadyNailz Pt 2) But CND’s Retention line is also great, and after the first of the year I’ll be trying out the Organic acrylic line. I’ve been loyal to NSI for years, but they fall short in the colored acrylic department. They just don’t offer enough colors, which I need for 3-D acrylic nail art. I don’t think I’d give up NSI, rather I’m thinking about using another brand just for my 3-D art.

  • @LadyNailz Pt 3) Careful of brands like OPI and Tammy Taylor, they are no better quality than NSI or CND but you’ll pay dearly for the name. That would be my recommendation to you: NSI Attraction or CND Retention, both are GREAT! quality with fair pricing. Good luck to you, let me know if there’s anything I can do to help. Thanks for watching my videos. : )

  • What is a trust worthy website where I can buy good acrylic system?

  • @ASUSENAGAVINO28 I just sent you a message, youtube won't accept links in posts.

  • I have learned so much please keep these videos coming = )

  • @ASUSENAGAVINO28 Aw, I'm so glad to hear that. As long as you need me, I'll be here for all of you. As much as I can, as often as I can, as soon as I can. : )

  • are there acrylic seminars for beginners? im fresh out of school and we didnt really touch on acrylic and after watching your videos i want to learn the right way where i wont ruin my nails or my clients nails!!!!! thank you!!

  • @anniestevens Their really isn’t any such thing as a beginners class. There is only one way (essentially) to apply acrylic, and whether you’ve been doing nails for 20 years or 20 minutes… the process is the same. But I’m shocked that your school “didn’t really touch on acrylic.” Well, the heck were you taught if not acrylic. Seriously, consider requesting a refund. However, I am here to help you in anyway I can. Just let me know. : )

  • @LadyNailz we only had to do 20 overlays with tips and 20 overlays. never did acrylic on a person, just practice fingers and hands. schools are getting worse these days when it comes to teaching! at least i work with 2 wonderful women who have been doing nails over 30 years combined. they have been wonderful to me but i want all the help i can get! and when doing acrylic in class we weren't really taught as in depth as your videos.

  • @anniestevens Well, good for you to seek out all the help you can get. That shows real professionalism. You're gonna go far in the business. Strange too, when I was in school, it was only the students who serviced the clients who came in for really cheap priced nails and hair services. I'm glad you're one of the luck few who has role models near by. Thanks so much for watching. : )

  • I want to thank you for sharing this info with us because I find it to be very helpful and useful I cant wait to see the other videos you have to show us because I really want to learn and know how to do things the correct way =)

  • @Verohnica88 Dude she is amazing! she is the BOMB!!!! And such a niiiiiceee lady!!!

  • @luisbalma yeah i know to be sharing all this is really great especially for me because im self taught you know so its great because I don't want to mess up my nails forever lol

  • @Verohnica88 SEE told you she is awesome!!! I'm trying to get her to try organic LOL!

  • @luisbalma yeah it would be great if she did try it i would love to hear what she thinks of the brand i really love it

  • @Verohnica88 RIGHT!!! We r on the same page here!!! =D

  • @luisbalma I know huh well hopefully u convince her

  • @Verohnica88 Then your off to a good start. The willingness to learn correctly

is professionalisim. Let me know if I can help. Thank you for watching, and for your support. : )

  • You are a flagship for modern acrylic application! I just hope that the institutions that teach acrylic application can catch up before I do my studies?

  • @CooksAndLooks Oh, I hope so too. We really need better quality instructors in the schools. These beauty students need help that they aren't getting from the instructors, and it's a shame. But if that turns out to be the case with you, think positive, you know where come. : )

Thank you so much for watching.

  • OH By the way!!! I know the GENTLEMEN its MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! hahahahahaha lol!!!

  • @luisbalma Aw, how'd you know? : )

  • @LadyNailz Girl please it has to be!!!! lmao

  • FAVORITE!!! The info here is soooooooooo valuable youtube should charge to be seen!!! lol!!! You did an excellent job here! Now little question I as you know use organic nails wich I PERSONALLY consider one of the MOST advanced if the THE MOST advance brands they use protein bond isntead of primer? talk to me about that? I know you r not too familiar with the brand but how about protein bonds?? Is that a pretty name for primers or just a diferent thing cause it WORK LIKE A SHIT OUT OF THIS WORLD

  • @luisbalma Yes, I am very impressed with what I've seen in the Organic videos. But if primer is "needed" in order for the acrylic to adhere to the nail plate and not lift... then it can't be concidered advanced. right. As for the protien bond... I'm not sure avout that. First tell me this: I sent you a link. The very first step... what is that he brushed on before he applied the form?

  • @LadyNailz the protein bond! but its different that nails primer! its not a damagin product!

  • @LadyNailz but i will search about it

  • @luisbalma Cool. I'm on it too.

  • @luisbalma dont give her any ideas about charging lol

  • @munajinx hahahahahahahahahaha

  • Thanks You! I am in 100% agrement with you methods & warnings. And speaking of safety, ensuring MMA free product is extremly important.

  • @BlueSageNails Well, thank you kindly for your support. I really appreciate you taking the time to watch my video, and to comment. : )

  • when I try to grab a bead of acrylic it will only form a small one so I have to do that step a lot of times.

  • @SuperSanchez21 Are you fully loading your brush with liquid then scraping only once? If yes to that, then your brush might be to small. A small brush can only hold so much liquid, and may not be enough to pick up a medium sized bead. Try switching to a bigger brush. A #8 is ideal, but not for everyone. I have to use a 10 on myself. I hope this helps, let me know if it doesn’t, there is another solution. Thank you for watching. : )

  • @LadyNailz I have a #8 brush

  • @SuperSanchez21 Do this happen right from the start, or after you've done a few nails?

  • @LadyNailz It happens from the start instead of it forming a bead it wraps around the brush I don't know if I am doing it right or it's just the quality of the powder.

  • @SuperSanchez21 Yes, it's either the product or the brush. If your brush is a good quality sable, then its probably the product. What brand are you using and how old is it? And is your brush new?

  • @LadyNailz the brush was new and the powder I think it's called high definition and I just bought it. it was cheap. but it's for practicing so I don't know if I should get a better quality maybe yes because this one is not working.

  • @SuperSanchez21 If you're sure your brush is good sable, then yes, it's probably the inferior powder. Ok, for practicing—if you can get it to work... but for yourself I would get something with a little better quality. I'm sure the problem will disappear. : )

  • @LadyNailz I am going to try to get a good one. I will let you know how things are doing as soon as I get it. Thanks I really appreciate you answering my questions and really fast. God Bless you.

  • @SuperSanchez21 Good for you! A very smart move. You'll see how easier applying acrylic will be just by using better quality acrylic. Please keep me posted on your progress, and let me know if I can do anything to help. : )

  • @DreamBubble101 What?! That's crazy, send me a message--so you can write more--and tell me what your doing? We can fix this. : )

  • The truth about cuticle oils?!!! *gasp* i cant wait either.

  • @monee127 Yes, it certainly was my favorite to talk about. I'm VERY passionate about cuticle oils, obsessive even, I'll admit. I actually collect them. Thank you for watching. : )

  • Thank you so much for this video I was having trouble with lifting and thanks to you and the time you took out to do this video I feel confident enough to continue trying. Alot of nail techs would never take the time to share knowledge with others for fear of losing business.God bless you.

  • @ST1526 Pt 1) Yes, I am unique in my efforts to solidify this industry. My fellow peers tell me “stop wasting your time.” And “they’re too worried about wounded pride, don’t bother.” But my efforts pay off. You’re the proof. I have no fear of losing business from anyone! And neither should ANYONE else—pro or not.

  • @LadyNailz Pt 2) There is a world of professional nail techs that are 10x’s better than me. Too many to count that can do exactly what I do faster and better. But they’re not me. And I am not them. Making it virtually IMPOSSIBLE to take anything from anyone. You know what I mean? Anyone can repeat what I do, anyone can replicate one of my designs, it won’t make them me. Thanks so much for watching. Let me know if I can be of help to you. : )

  • I so love the informitive videos your the greatest on here!! Honest and truley helpful, I do have one question I just use the sally's brand because I am not a licenced tech so can I use those brands with out primer and still get no lifting if not what could i do to prevent lifting with out primer?

  • @TheDpdelance Pt 1) I use Sally’s Beauty Secrets brand. It’s crap! It’s the worst! But I ONLY use it for doing my sample nails, NEVER on clients or myself. I don’t like using my good stuff for practice. But, you do not have to be licensed to use quality products. If you’re just learning acrylic application, then by all means use the cheap MMA free cheap stuff. But you’re definitely going to want to use quality products when you’re ready for people or yourself.

  • @LadyNailz Pt 2) Unfortunately, the cheap products will not allow you to go primer-free—the quality is to low. Anyone who wishes to go primer free for their own safety and advancement, must use advanced products like NSI or CND (and others). If primer use is a necessity for some, (those with no access to quality products, or have not yet perfected their application methods) IT HAS TO BE USED WITH EXTREME CAUTION.

  • @LadyNailz Pt 3) ABSOLUTELY NO touching of the skin. Dipping the brush into the primer, scrapping bristles twice, is more than enough primer to cover one whole hand. Dip again ONLY for the next hand. Lightly touch brush to nail plate ¼ inch from emponychium—it’ll bleed itself the rest of the way. If primer comes into contact with skin AT ANY TIME, wash immediately with soap and water, and start again. Thanks so much for watching, let me know if I can help you with anything. : )

  • thanks so much for this vid.. they made sure to tell us about MMA at my school so I already knew what u were gonna say about it. Its sad that people still use it after knowing the consequences of it... Can you do a vid on how YOU remove acrylic nails please? Thanks

  • @almondbrown09 Thank you for watching and comenting. Yes, I have an upcoming vieos on acrylic removal. I have so many I'm trying to get out for everyone, as quickly as possible... hang in there with me, I'm getting there... lol : )

  • after watching the part about mma i threw out my ebay monomers, cus i had chest pain and dry mouth and the smell omg took over my whole house.i bought them just for practicing cus i am learning how to do acrylic nails on my own until i can get time to go to the city and attend college cus i live in a small town you know and they dont have school for nails here :( well i purchased an nsi professional nail kit and is waiting for it in the mail. am gonna keep tuning in to your channel for new videos

  • @munajinx Well, good for you! That was a serious step toward professionalism, and minding your health. But please, promise me you’ll check with a doctor immediately if those symptoms don’t subside, or if those same ones return. And don’t forget to tell your doctor you were exposed to MMA.

OMG, I’m so excited for you about your NSI products coming in the mail. You have to promise me you’ll let me know the minute you sample them!!! I want to hear all about it. YOU ARE GOING TO BE AMAZED!

  • the first part of this video I liked.how I like acrylic nails your video really helped me.then came the second part of your video.I like that to.whan I saw you talking about MMA.I got scared(actually I should be scared).I rushed to my acrylic products

fortunately they do not have something like that in their composition.they have EMA.uf.I was relieved

  • @aoana15 I want to thank you for what you do.it helped me very much.yes I want to use acrylic and I want to use themproperly

and I accept criticism and advice from someone who really knows what he's talking about

because I know some time I work with acrylic wrong :(

  • @aoana15 You speak with a professional tongue, are you licensed, or have you just

monomer surging through your veins? : )

  • I am just an amateur(if I say so)

I like to do 3-D Acrylic design and because now I put tips on the nails that covers only half of it I put a very thin layer of transparent acrylic so it can smooth the entire surface

I would like to put acrylic glitter and other stuf but for the moment I'm in the stage of learning about acrylic and I do not know what I put it directly on my nails ( I do not know and adverse reactions after a long time period )

  • @aoana15 Just follow what I do in my video, and you shouldn't have any adverse effects. I do have a video planned for inlaid acrylic… I’ll show you how to cap the glitters and anything else you want. Thanks for your comments. : )

  • and who knows maybe later go to a school.but for now I'm in the stage to save money for this

you actually give us free lessons ...wow

because you went to a school, and you paid it,and now you come with some very good advice.wow.You're very generous with us

I am very grateful to you

  • @aoana15 Yes, all free for the taking. I’m a part of the nail industry, I have been most of my life. I want to see it stronger, and flourish, and filled with talented well educated techs. And that includes all future techs too. When the industry looks good, it makes me look good. And that—to me—is worth more than money. Anything I can do to help, I will. Thank you so much for your kind comments, and your support. : )

  • @aoana15 Whew, close call, huh? Yeah, people need to be real careful about the products they use. The cheaper they are the more likely they are to be more hazardous. The cheap stuff (MMA free of course) is just fine for practicing with, hey why waste the good stuff, right. But everyone needs to be more cautious about what they put on their nails. Thanks so much for watching. Let me know if there's anything I can help you with. : )

  • Oh I ♥ This so much Girl ! Thanks so much for making all of these videos :0)

This is really going to help a lot of girls and they are all going to appreciate it.

  • @TheNailDutchess Oh, thank you Dutchess, glad you're enjoying them too. I do know it will help a lot of them, unfortunately some are not as appreciative as others.

Thanks for stopping by. : )

  • Thank You for this video! what size of brush do you use?

  • @QueenofPInk101 The one you see me use in my video is a #8 grand sable. Too small for my own nails, for which I use a 10. : )

  • Now THIS is a tutorial!!! MORE PLEEZ!

  • @lololicious69 Hey girl, thought I saw you on a milk carton. How ya been? How are the products coming? Oh please tell me you were able to make some progress with them. : )

  • I really appreciate your videos they are very informative.

  • @Ecila007 You're so welcome. Thank you for watching and commenting. : )

  • 3part

and my natural nails were in a very bad shape :(, now that I do my own nails, whenever I remove the acrylic they feel great :), I know I must be doing something right but I want to find out more, fix and improve my technique there is never an end to education. Besides loving nail art I need something to protect my cracked nails :( two of my nais grow in half since I was a little girl, this is super painful when they get cough in something, ripping the nail and making my nail bed bleed :(

  • @cuteglitternails Yes, it’s a shame that we sometimes have to learn how to do certain things ourselves if we want them done right. And sometimes it’s just safer. What happen to your two nails? A childhood injury? I too have a condition on three of my nails that prevents me from wearing sculptured nails. It’s why I wear overlays. The skin under my free edge grows out along with the nail, and is very painful. FAR too painfully for a sculpture form to touch there.

  • @LadyNailz Thanks so much for commenting, and taking the time to watch. I’m happy to know I can be of help to you. Please let me know if there is any area I can assist you in. : )

  • @LadyNailz

My nails have been that way since I can remember, dont know if it was from hitting my nails with a hammer or a door :P , from birth or from all the problems I had growing up, my mom was anemic when pregnant, she donated blood , she didnt know she was pregnant until she was around 3-4months. I'm very sensitive to lots of things, allergic to many others and yes anemia is one of my biggest problems I had growing up, but I'm ok right now :). Ouch your ...

  • @cuteglitternails Wow! I too was born anemic. I am now curious to how much this can truly effect nails.

Of course it will make a difference in the way that nails grow and flourish... but I'm curious to do more in-depth research on the subject of nail health in anemics. I’m especially curious to know if perhaps the disorder “pterygium” that I suffer with on three of my nails is in anyway connected.Very interesting I'd say. : )

  • @LadyNailz

and ouch your nail problem sounds worse than mine, mine can be very very painfull, like pure torture when I dont have acrylics, but yours is always there, with overlays or without them :(.

  • 2nd part they all recommend that, and believe me when I say I read a lot :P I try searching for every bit of info when it comes to anything I want to do, not only nails, thats how I am :P but now I got you :D a great source of info :)

My first nail teacher was my ex nail tech, he didnt know he was teaching me :P I just stole some tips from him :P, but even when I used to love his work and the quality of product use, I wasnt totally satisfy by how he would prep or remove my nails, and...

  • @cuteglitternails Pt 1) Little lady, I have been waiting for you! I first noticed you earlier this year. I have watched you advance yourself in your nail art. You’re a quick learner, and you’re capable of seeing how something is done and teaching yourself… and after having read all your comments, I know now I was right about you. You are prime material for this industry. Girlfriend why? Why do you not have a license? We need you, and others like you.

  • @LadyNailz Pt 2) Yes, that is a shame about your old nail tech. I see it a lot though. So many talented people—perfect candidates for this industry, or those already licensed but making little mistakes that are easily correctable… but too stubborn, egotistical, and set in their way to learn any different. But I see now you’re not like that. Anyone who can recognize their own mistakes, and seek out the help like you do—showing a real desire to learn—that’s professionalism pure and simple!

  • @LadyNailz Pt 3) I see so much of myself in you, when I was your age, hungry for knowledge, with an unyielding thirst to learn everything! You have the heart of a TRUE nail technician. You have the talent to work your way to the top of this industry, making serious money and respected name for yourself. And if that’s something you are interested in… I would LOVE to help you get there.

Thank you for watching my videos, and your lovely comments. : )

  • @LadyNailz

Thank you so much for your kind words, I dont see a great nail tech in me :P and always question every single thing I do :P specially when it comes to making the videos, videos that I started uploading to show my sisters, in both coast, east and west that I was trying to do my naisl, people started to ask me to upload more so I did and that motivated me to keep trying to get better, and now I even learn from my old videos and all my mistakes :P

  • @cuteglitternails If I can see a great tech in you… you should be able to see it too. You’ll go far in this industry with the efforts you put into it. I’m really happy you’ll be entering school in the future, it’ll be the most rewarding thing you’ll ever do. : )

  • @LadyNailz

One question, what should I look for when enrolling to school to get a nail tech license ? what kind of school? I ask cause I'm pretty sure there are good ones and others with people that are just trying to take your money and not really teach you the proper way. Just like the discount nail salons.

  • @cuteglitternails I have sent you a message with a little bit of school information. Use those guidelines

to help find the best school that’s right for you. I wish you all the luck with your future

schooling, and I’ll be here if you need anything. But taking all that you have already learned with you into school… you’re going breeze through school and ace the exams. : )

  • @LadyNailz

Thank you so much for watching I truly appreciate it, and I have learned from people like u, many nail techs send me emails and share tips with me, so I'm more than thankful to you guys :)

I was talking with hubby the other day and decided that as soon as I get more free time (from school and other activities) I will enroll in school to get my license :), I dont think I will be working doing nails as a full time thing, but just part time, now I wont have to turn down all the..

  • Respond to this video... 2par

all the ladies that want me to do their nails.

  • 2nd part they all recommend that, and believe me when I say I read a lot :P I try searching for every bit of info when it comes to anything I want to do, not only nails, thats how I am :P but now I got you :D a great source of info :)

My first nail teacher was my ex nail tech, he didnt know he was teaching me :P I just stole some tips from him :P, but even when I used to love his work and the quality of product use, I wasnt totally satisfy by how he would prep or remove my nails, and.....

  • Thank you for sharing spreading some knowledge :) I can honestly use all the help or tips a pro can give me :), I dont find this type of videos on youtube, the way I used to get my info was by reading I have read soooo much, everywhere, about nails, and even stole info from the pros at nail forums, never heard anything about not even edging the nail plate :(,....

  • 80gritt??? now that is foolish.

    I always used 240grit.

I think even a 180 gritt file is too harsh

  • @UnderTheLilyShadow Yes, sad but true. If they would just switch to quality products, allow me to help them with their application, they'd find they don't have to shave their nails at all. That's how I know they're not doing it correctly. WE know the steps are: wash, shape free edge to remove snags, solvent, push back eponychium, remove cuticle, dehydrate, apply acrylic. There can't possibly be a shine on the nails after all that. So what are they trting to file off? : ) Right?
