Our Filipino Accent

i think this is an ok accent. usually the accent filams imitate are really thicker accents from the provinces more likely. but this is a good accent, you still have a filipino accent but you can converse & more/less say english words that can be easily comprehended. i actually prefer this accent compared to losing your accent completely. i don't like the american accent tbh.

We all Filipinos know those words block, black, still and steal and so forth, but we don't just follow it.. no big deal for us.. as long as it is necessary to do.. heheheh and that's the truth here.. you just notice it becuase you guys focus in english.. pizz out..

I have Korean classmates who picked up the Filipino accent. They sound like us now. But they can change the accent easily just like us.

I'm a Filipino and I don't know why others laugh at our accent. We were fully aware of our accent sounds like. We know it's not the coolest accent in the world and don't think for a minute that we don't know that your mocking at us.

It sounds funny to me. It's commonly used to joke around. I've seen people make fun of that accent.

that doesn't sound filipino at all. There's always a different accent other than the typical accent which people expect to hear. So i guess this is that version of the filipino accent.

@emsing2001 my father, who is most certainly straight, has no accent when he speaks english. his mother taught the entire family to speak english when in the house and without an accent. he's very educated, sporty, and a man's man. he was in the military. your comment was very ignorant.

I don't thinks it's unattractive. It's not creepy unless you say something creepy. But it's just what it is. Could you or others really help that you're from there? I mean it's the way everyone speaks there so it's natural. I'm Filipino but I certainly don't sound like you and I couldn't even if I tried because I'm from a different country and my surroundings and up bringing has a lot to do with the way I talk. From my vocab to my accent.

in my honest opinion, some or most of the people from manila speak terrible. triangle is pronounced triangel or something. it's annoying. i'm from cebu and we can honestly say that the majority of adolescents speak better english.

Most of the Tagalog speakers really don't pronounce the schwa sound, as in tri-ang-g^l. That also applies to about (^bout) previous (prI- vj^s), etc. Well, that's an invitable part of our culture! Lol!
