i think this is an ok accent. usually the accent filams imitate are really thicker accents from the provinces more likely. but this is a good accent, you still have a filipino accent but you can converse & more/less say english words that can be easily comprehended. i actually prefer this accent compared to losing your accent completely. i don't like the american accent tbh.
We all Filipinos know those words block, black, still and steal and so forth, but we don't just follow it.. no big deal for us.. as long as it is necessary to do.. heheheh and that's the truth here.. you just notice it becuase you guys focus in english.. pizz out..
I'm a Filipino and I don't know why others laugh at our accent. We were fully aware of our accent sounds like. We know it's not the coolest accent in the world and don't think for a minute that we don't know that your mocking at us.
huh i thought Filipinos have american accents !!!??? cause im a Filipino and when i first came to England everyone thought i was american even though i was tanned??? lol :) huh but i do have a kinda strong filipino accent!!! :) lol
that doesn't sound filipino at all. There's always a different accent other than the typical accent which people expect to hear. So i guess this is that version of the filipino accent.
@sniperforlife u don't learn it, u acquire it if schooled in the US. It's funny cuz even koreans learning english in the philipines aquire that ugly Filipino accent.
@emsing2001 my father, who is most certainly straight, has no accent when he speaks english. his mother taught the entire family to speak english when in the house and without an accent. he's very educated, sporty, and a man's man. he was in the military. your comment was very ignorant.
sorry. i always thought filipino accent is like a cross between spanish and indian, so not really attractive. coming from a fellow pinoy. thankfully, i didn't develop a filipino accent.
@kahitnalangano Hey, thanks very much for the comment! Pretty sensitive ears you've got there--most--well, Filipinos--won't notice the difference among those words, hence they mispronounce them. Where are you from, by the way?
@lisowzki It sounds close enough. Granted, you speak in a Filipino accent for most of the video so I can't really tell for sure unless you post a video of you attempting an American accent for a more extended period of time.
@sniperforlife This accent on this vid. isn't an american accent. Not close enough, actually. I only have two vids. I did brit and american accent on my second vid. check it out please. thanks.
@lisowzki The first few seconds until you said "doing" sounded pretty American to me. :P If that wasn't American, what would you call it? It didn't sound very Filipino or maybe my perception just sucks.
hmm its simple .. not exagerating or something .. atlis youre being yourself and not pretending to be somebody else .. its better than the other vids about fil accents ive seen .. btw, are you a filipino ?
@deocampo13 I see. And yes, I am 100% Pinoy, born and raised here in the Philippines. But my accent up there is like not my real accent. I've come to develop an American accent actually. But now I'm getting bored of it!
@lisowzki I love it!! and where in the phillipines like elocosur? cause thats were my grandpa was born! and ofcourse gotta bring back the pilipino accent!!
I don't thinks it's unattractive. It's not creepy unless you say something creepy. But it's just what it is. Could you or others really help that you're from there? I mean it's the way everyone speaks there so it's natural. I'm Filipino but I certainly don't sound like you and I couldn't even if I tried because I'm from a different country and my surroundings and up bringing has a lot to do with the way I talk. From my vocab to my accent.
in my honest opinion, some or most of the people from manila speak terrible. triangle is pronounced triangel or something. it's annoying. i'm from cebu and we can honestly say that the majority of adolescents speak better english.
Most of the Tagalog speakers really don't pronounce the schwa sound, as in tri-ang-g^l. That also applies to about (^bout) previous (prI- vj^s), etc. Well, that's an invitable part of our culture! Lol!

Sounds kinda like the Indian acccent(though I probably have this term wrong I don't know)
It sounds funny to me. It's commonly used to joke around. I've seen people make fun of that accent.
