  • 0:43 Isnt that the crash they use in Cars in the final race?

  • Crashes are fun to watch, but but unfortunately theres a chance of one of them dying

    :(

  • who wrecked at 2 50 and did it kill him

  • @goreds03 It's Kevin Cogan. Kevin lost control of his Indy car coming out of turn 4, on lap 3, of the 1989 Indianapolis 500.

Kevin spun into the inside front stretch wall, rebounding into the attenuating barrier at the pit entrance, practically disintegrating his car and slicing it in half as it came to a stop in the pit area.

Miraculously, Cogan climbed out unhurt. Kevin can be seen raising his helmet shield as he slid along at 2:50.

  • @CR250R40 who is that at1:18

  • @Jeff782420 It was a SCORE race in 1986. The Legend Walker Evans is the racer tumbling down the steep Riverside International Raceway track. Walker had just crossed the pavement, headed uphill, made the sharp left to run aside the front S's [pavement] section, unfortunately over-corrected and hit the outside wall.

I miss that great, historic track and those fantastic heavy metal trucks. Evans and Mears. Great rivalry.

  • 4:56 - wow, that was a biggie !

  • finally at 7:05 Crash and bash Earnhardt gets some of his own medicine for the blocking he did.

  • 1:32 AND THEY ALL FALL DOWN :P

  • good video

  • The last crash in the video : Did he die ?? :o

  • @SuperAZERTY10 He lived. Only suffered burns to his wrists. Flames entered where the gloves and jacket arms meet. Nomex firesuits work well.

  • @CR250R40 Looked pretty damn bad to me.

  • what race was that at 3:20

  • The Mike Mcdowell Nascar crash really showcases the safety of today's cars. If that would have been one of the old stock cars the guy would have been dead. That was the hardest G-force hit ever recorded in a nascar stock car. 2010 elliott sadler's crash at pocono was very close 2nd. Obviously drivers can still die in the car from things like stroke or heart attack. But i dont see a nascar driver dying ever again from a crash alone the safety is just spot on.

  • Nice Video...Best that i have EVER seen

  • That was a good video. keep up the good work :D

  • who is this song by?

  • @woodster402001 The first song is Crash by The Primitives. The second song is Ready to Go by Republica. The third song is Every Time I Look For You by Blink-182. The last song is Hells Bells by AC/DC.

  • 1:42-1:44 wonder what that guy was thinking.

  • this song is from dumb and dumber

  • that last crash i have never seen so much flame on a car and it not be blown to kingdom come. Driver is lucky to be alive

  • I FUCKIN LUV THIS SONG!!

  • Mark Martin once said " When you Wreck at Talledega ... you Wreck for half an Hour " .. lol , about that last clip drive your fire truck the wrong way * up * the drag strip with BOTH cars coming at you , then watch the burning car blow past and turn around and try to catch it ... does that remind you of the Keystone cops .. or is it just me ?

  • The battle at 2:52 was the coolest

  • blink 182 for the win!!!! great band!!!! it was a very pleasent surprise to hear them in this vid!

  • first song?

  • You're a BEAST video maker! Thanks!

  • wow the last thing is pretty bad ... poor driver in there.

  • Does 4:02 still count as a win?

And what is the music called in that clip?

  • @qwertylockley It does count as a win but he couldn't fix the car

  • Great video :D Im just curious, were any of the drag race crashes fatal? :)

  • @icanbyournumber1girl Thanks for watching. Much appreciation. None of the crashes were fatal. I would NEVER show or even use video of a fatal crash. All the riders and drivers in my videos lived to race another day. Thanks again for watching.

  • @CR250R40 Ahh thats good, and much respect to you for not showing fatal crashes :) cheers

  • Who was that at 2:16 ???

  • @3intimid8or The racer flipping down Daytona's backstretch (1989) in the #83 Oldsmobile is "Lake Speed." No relation to Scott Speed.

Lake's best Winston Cup Championship standing was 10th in 1985. Speed's second best season was 1994, finishing 11th.

Lake Speed stopped Cup racing in 1998. The 1978 Karting Champion captured 1 win during his 402 Winston Cup Starts.

  • whats the name of the first song??

  • hope that last crash had a survivor =/

  • @oXFalconXo he lived

  • @oXFalconXo Don't think so :(

  • @oXFalconXo Yes he did survive

  • that sucks for davey allison at 7:32 instead of celebrating his win in victory lane he celebrated his win in a hospital.

  • @storm24awesome that green car driver is an asshole, not cool flipin people :(

  • I love NASCAR

  • The last wreck is a perfect example why fire suites are so helpful

  • whats the song at 2:08?

  • awesome crashes

  • 7:12 and 7:25 cant be legal

  • 1:29 TOTAL FAIL :D

  • lol, this song wuz in dumb and dumber

  • HELLS BELLS!

  • 7:12 super powerslide =)

  • Nice vid. Now i understand why they use restrictor plates at Talladega and Daytona

  • the first song is The Primitives - Crash :D

  • hells bells by ACDC.....yup its a good song

  • does anybody know the name of the last song? cool tune

  • graet vid wat are the names of the songs

  • hey man great job on the video and did the guy in the last crash die

  • Thanks for the praise. Glad you enjoyed the video. It was fun to make.

The last crash is horrible, however, the guy lived thanks to his firesuit. He only suffered from burnt forearms.

  • @CR250R40 yes inded loved the vid it was GREATTTTTT!!!!! and im glad the last guy is ok

  • ohh the last one was horrible!

but great vid, i like it

    peace iso

  • No,no. Thank you.

  • Hey. I still can't thank you for this. Great job and keep on posting videos about these awsome crash compilations. 10/10!

  • Thank you... THANK YOU!!! You're very kind. Glad the video brings some happiness to you. I am amassing new video and hope to post a new compilation soon. Again, thanks for the smiles.

  • kool vid, the song works.

  • very! very! nice vid man :D loved it, but did many off those ppls die?

  • Thanks for the kind words. Appreciate them. And no, there are no lost lives in any of the 3 crash videos I've made. I would never have fatalities in my videos. Couldn't live with myself. Some racers suffered injuries but no life-threatening injuries. All recovered to race again which is great for all of us to know.

  • woah the last one made it out alive? luck man. keep up the video's they're great

  • @CR250R40 the last one survived to? still dont believe it

  • Who was the guy in the last crash? How much burns did he have?

  • Racer Don Gay Jr. suffered burns to his forearms only. Nothing too bad. He's now a Texas sheriff.

  • What name the music 2?Plz give me a name

  • CR250R40 and viewers. i just started a new channel. i dont like advertising on vids but i figured racing vids are a little diff on youtube than just for getting hits. but ive got full races of pretty much every series you can think of. older and newer. i understand if you spam this but figured race fans are race fans thanks.

  • what kind of race is that one @ 1:18 ??

  • It was a SCORE race in 1986. The Legend Walker Evans is the racer tumbling down the steep Riverside International Raceway track. Walker had just crossed the pavement, headed uphill, made the sharp left to run aside the front S's section, unfortunately over-corrected.

I miss that great, historic track and those fantastic heavy metal trucks. Evans and Mears. Great rivalry.

  • Good variety, nice editing, pace and decent music too. Well done and thanks for sharing. Really good video :-)

  • Thanks 1RadNomad,

I appreciate the praise... very kind of you. I'm glad the video gave you some joy to your day. I had fun making the video and all the other videos on my page.

I love Nomads. My boss had a '57. Twas sweet.

[Have myself a '68 GM truck. Just posted video of it. I can't drive it and the dream of redoing it has come to an end. It needs to go.] I envy you for having a Nomad.

  • did the driver in the last crash survive???

  • Very much alive and doing very well in life... working as a Texas sheriff.

  • Way to go! I'm going to subscribed you. Want to be friends?

  • Befriend away, friend.

  • Great video, really incredible footage, i'm gonna watch #2! But before I do, I wanted to ask, at 7:03 begins a clip of a guy in a black and green car and he shunts two racers off of the track! What was the story with that guy? Thanks for your time!

  • Thank you for all your kind words. So nice.

The race was the 1992 All-Star Race - "The Winston." The first-ever NASCAR Cup Series "night" race.

The 3 drivers racing for the checked flag [Charlotte Motor Speedway] are the late Davey Allison, #28, the late Dale Earnhardt, #3, and Kyle Petty, car #42. [Yes, Kyle Petty! An aggressor! A contender for race wins way back in the day.]

Last lap, Kyle shunts Dale in turn 3, then Davey right at the finish line, but lost. Car #28 WON while crashing!

  • Being the first night race ever in the Cup series, the winner of this prestigious All-Star race would be in the record book. This is why all 3 racers did what they did.... especially Kyle... crashing 2 competitors on one lap seconds from the end.

Davey was told in the hospital, hours later, he won. It was a great race with an exciting finish. Davey was racing again in the Coca-Cola 600 the next day.

  • nice vid and i read some commenst how do u no so much bout these drivers and wat theyd do now if their retired

  • Glad you like the video. Thank you for watching.

My source for information is simple... reading past and present articles. Driver's history is forever in the news. That's the easiest and best way to learn the facts and correct answers.

Thanks again for all the nice words.

  • Great video man, keep up the good work.

    5 stars :)

  • I appreciate the comments. Puts a smile on my face. Thank you soooooo much.

  • Did the last one survive?!

  • Yes. Only received slight burns to his forearms.

  • CR250R40, you have the best videos. Thanks for this. I really appreciate it so much.

  • I thank you for watching. I very much appreciate your words of praise. You made my day. Thank you for everything.

  • shit do i feel sorry for the guy in the last crash, he probably died in the fire ouch

  • The driver never lost his life. He survived with few burns. Only suffered a concussion. He's now a Sheriff.

  • The last guy is very much alive this very day. Don Gay Jr., the driver, retired after his fiery accident and is now a Texas Sheriff.

  • i am a big racing fan to this video was great

  • Thanks for the kind words. They made me smile.

  • lol....this music makes me think of Dumb and Dumber

  • Too funny! Dumb and Dumber is how I came to know the song. I heard it on the movie and thought what a great song.

  • good music hahaha brake your neck.

  • Much appreciated. Glad you enjoyed the video and music. Was enjoyable to piece together.

Funny thing -- I broke my neck in 1985. No video of it, though. Thank goodness. But, I replay the accident in my head daily. Rock 'n' roll!

  • Glad you're ok. Nice vid thanks.

  • title of first song ??

  • The Primitives - Crash

  • 8:14 great music timeing

  • ses acdc hells bells

  • Videos like this make watching compilations worth !!

    Great Job man

    - The last one. OMG ! that was bad =/., did he passed out ?, because the emergency truck seemed to expect the dragster to stop.

PS: sorry if there are mistakes, my english is not perfect

  • Your English is perfect. And, yes, the dragster driver was knocked unconscious when he slammed the concrete wall. His car continued rolling, engine idling, until it came to a stop on the uphill grade. Dragster driver Don Gay Jr. was pulled from his car with minor burns. He did suffer a concussion and retired from racing not long after the accident.

Thank you for the kind words. Very appreciated.

  • you say the guy at the very end of this vid. was okay? it really looked like he had burned alive.

  • Yes, the fire was very bad. However, the driver's mandatory multi-layer Nomex firesuit and mask protected his skin from the flames. Don Gay Jr. did suffer minor burns to his forearms. Nothing more serious.

The driver is now a Texas Sheriff.

  • any info on the F1?? pit lane crash @ 2:46 ????

  • Actually, it's an Indy car crash from 1989. Kevin Cogan lost control of his Indy car coming out of turn 4 on lap 3 of the 1989 Indianapolis 500.

Kevin spun into the inside front stretch wall, rebounding into the attenuating barrier at the pit entrance, practically disintegrating his car and slicing it in half as it came to a stop in the pit area.

Miraculously, Cogan climbed out unhurt. Kevin can be seen raising his helmet shield as he slid along.

  • thanks for the info & fast reply.

Guess I should have said "open car" racing!!!

Glad to hear he was fine, that is probably the worst crash "on" pit road I have seen so far.

  • 9:55 he survived?

  • Yes, the driver survived and remarkably wasn't too badly burnt. Injuries were a concussion and minor burns to the forearms. Nomex fire suits work very well, thankfully.

  • best 10 mins on youtube in my opinion

  • Thanks Upinsmoke869,

WOW - such kind words. Thank you! Thank you! I appreciate the praise. You made my day.

Glad I could bring some joy to your viewing. It was fun making the compilations. These positive comments make it all worth it. Thanks again.

    Wishing you a great summer.

  • don't think so, way tooo much boring motorcycle scenes

  • whats the first song called ??

  • 8:15 was great ...machale mcdowel worst crash

  • I agree... his crash will be a hard one to beat. So glad no injuries.

  • This vid was great! thanks for making it

  • You're very welcome. It's nice to know I brought some brightness to your day.

  • Blame Copyright Laws. Those who post videos have few song options.

  • pretty nice vid!

  • Thanks for the kind comment. It was fun putting the videos together. Glad you enjoyed the video.

  • mmmm i think i remmber sex lmao

  • I remember when racing was dangerous and sex was safe!!!

  • Good line. Funny and true. How we long for the good old days.

    Thanks for watching.

  • nice work editing this video :)

  • Thanks for the compliment. Piecing the video together was fun. I hope to make a fourth video. Thanks again.

  • wasnt the last crash fatal? the one with the drag car exploding?

  • No fatality. Driver Don Gay Jr. recovered from his slight burns, retired from drag racing months after the crash due the concussion, got his Masters degree in business, and now is a Texas Sheriff.

  • 7:03-7:35 was so funny. that 42 car(green and black)took out both cars lol. he span them both out

  • Tiz funny.... #42 being Kyle Petty. Back when he was a threat to win races. I like Kyle. Too bad he's cutting back his Cup racing schedule for 2009.

  • Hes not cutting back lol. he got fired.

  • It happens when you run poorly week in, week out. It's too bad he got the boot. I like Kyle.

  • 4:42 Did that guy survive that crash?

  • in the description it say they all survive

  • It's true. All the racers and riders in this video survived. Some had broken bones. All were not seriously hurt. All raced another day.

    Thanks for watching.

  • how the hell did the guy at the end live!? his car was on fire for ages, great video by the way..

  • Nomex drag racing suits. These are multiple layer plush-knitted suits -- Fire protection fabric. Rules state wearing Nomex is a must.

  • Some Drag Racing crashes can look really brutal, but you can see, the person is encased in a cage.

  • Nice vids indeed!

  • Thanks for the kind words. Much appreciated.

  • Man those are some crashes!

  • CR, I remember Glidden doing that!!

  • Hi Fresnopete,

It was a big crash for it's day. I recall this crash vividly. It was 1986. The race aired on TNN's "American Sports Cavalcade" hosted by Steve Evens and Broc Yates. I never missed a show.

I liked the show for it's quality and hosts. Was sad to read Evens passed away a few years back. He was a great color commentator.

    Thanks for watching my video.

  • hello .... I could not please say the name of the soundtracks

    thanks ..... very good videos

  • can anyone tell me what the first song is?

  • Good vid.....shitty music (*_~)

  • no offense but this video takes a hell of a long time to buffer

  • what's the name of the second song? great great great vid!!

  • what's the name of the first song? and great vid =]

  • i hate when people say being a race car driving easy

  • I agree. It's very mentally and physically demanding.

    Same goes towards motorcycle/motocross racing.

    Racers are athletes.

  • i was told when Bob glidden (pro stock) got out of the his car from the wreck he took his jacket and covered up the carb.

  • Thanks for the memory refresher. YES, I now also recall the television race commentator (the late Steve Evens) mention Bob covered up the carb and intake manifold.

Intake manifolds are well-protected, well-guarded, top secret components in Pro Stock racing.

  • Y did he do that? Was there a trade secret in there?

  • Exactly! Racers do not want to give away their horsepower secrets. The best competitive edge is NOT to let competitors know what you have. Keep in mind; every gain to make horsepower falls within that series' rules.

Horsepower is king. Hours and hours are invested in machining and assembling a 500 CI Pro Stock motor producing 1400 horsepower.

  • You can drill, bore, shave, & polish parts -- block, cyl. heads, intake, etc. -- to your desired specs from raw castings. However, builders must stay WITHIN the rules to be race legal. Everyone has their secrets to crafting horsepower.

Bob Glidden obviously built his intake a certain way -- A WINNING WAY! Bob tossed his coat over the wrecked carb & intake in order to keep his craftsmanship aka winning edge secret from intriguing eyes looking onward.

    Quick-thinking racer.

  • the guy at 7:03 is a bitch

  • The race was the 1992 All-Star Race "The Winston." Was the first-ever NASCAR Cup Series "night" race.

The three racing for the checkers at the Charlotte Motor Speedway are the late Davey Allison, #28, the late Dale Earnhardt, and the CEO of Petty Enterprises and part-time TNT-TV NASCAR analyst Kyle Petty, car #42. Yes, Kyle Petty! Aggressor!

Kyle was a contender for race wins way back in the day.

What I like about Kyle is his honesty. He says what he feels. I respect Kyle.

  • oooooooooooook whats that got to do with it

  • Sorry, I mean the first song from 0:00-2:05.

  • I love this song! I'd like to know who did this song and what it's called.

  • The competitive racer flipping down Daytona's backstretch (1989) in his #83 Oldsmobile is "Lake Speed."

Lake's best Winston Cup Championship standing was 10th in 1985. Speed's second best season was 1994, finishing 11th.

Lake Speed stopped Cup racing in 1998. The 1978 Karting Champion captured 1 win during his 402 Winston Cup Starts.

  • Who's cars went into the wall at 1:49? Rudd's flip at the busch clash in '84 was scary as well as bob glidden's wreck.

  • Greg Sachs is the unfortunate guy inside #48 barrel-rolling through turn #1 at Pocono Raceway. Sachs, the winner of 1 Sprint Cup race (then Winston Cup, in 1985) got together with Lake Speed.

Bob Glidden's crash was unfortunate but also fortunate. It was the first time Bob raced with a full "Funny Car-style" roll cage. Probably saved him from serious injury. Perhaps worse.

Not long after, all door slammers went the same cage route.

  • Who was in the 83 that went rolling?

  • someday, some dragracer is gona flipover, the car will flip over the wall, bt the area were the drivers head is, will catch the wall. u gt the idea. those cars shode b mre protective to the front ofthe drivers faces

  • I concur. It amazes me NHRA or the other drag racing sanctions haven't mandated changes in "roll bar" design to better protect the head.

  • Who is that at 2:41? That looked like A HORRIBLE CRASH.

  • That was a frightening crash.

  • Did Don Gay retire? Bobby Allison's wreck in dega was a mess! Bob Glidden had a wild ride that day. Did Ford withdraw from the pro stock class?

  • Don Gay Jr. recovered fully from his injuries. He did not return to active competition after the crash.

He went on to major in fine arts at the U of Texas, later got his master's degree in business at Notre Dame.

Gay then went to the National Automotive Dealers Academy (NADA) & underwent police academy training at the College of the Mainland in Texas City, TX.

Gay is currently a member of the Galveston (Texas) County Sheriffs Department.

Pioneer dragger Don Gay Sr. died in'07 from cancer.

  • Bob Glidden, who had carried the Ford banner practically by himself throughout his career, retired after two events in the 1997 season. He was dissatisfied with his sponsorship package.

Bob then concentrated on engine development for some of Ford's NASCAR teams.

  • If i understand correctly, Ford withdrew when he retired?

  • it was cool but i think it needed more drag racing crashes

(but thats just me u did u great job)
