the blue people are asari, the people that look like grasshoppers are keepers, the people like saren are turians and the people with the two antenna looking things on their heads are salarians
I actually started watching xAeternax, coming from Gyrphon's. His is more of a speed run, rather than a Let's Play. I tend to prefer to watch a play-through when it's the player's first time because you get a better sense of the gamers first impressions, and tends to help highlight design elements that that work, and others that need improvement.
Honest PT's where the gamer is telling you what's on his mind are the most helpful to the industry.
Press start, or whatever you press when you are on a computer, and go to codex. Pictures of all known races, description of all important history, and many other things are there. Go there and you will probably spend about a half an hour reading up on everything there is to know about the game. Very interesting.
Yeah the codex is one of the best things about Mass Effect. I think of it as a "hitchhikers guide to M.E. It's fairly well written, and many of the major entries are narrated. Shows just how deep the developers went to flush out the whole universe. Everything from "how does my gun work" to galactic political history.

@GearzGamer
Simple rule really; if you don't like it; don't watch it. There's several other let's plays of Mass Effect out there. ;)
