Help me remember.. Why was it called Tales of the Gold Monkey? If memory serves, only the pilot movie dealt with monkeys... Unless my mrmory was shot.
@RustleAbout the gold monkey refers to the relic they were searching for in the first episode, and only in that episode did they find the gold monkey. the rest of the episodes have nothing to do with the gold monkey, mainly because an entire season of searching for one relic would seem too far fetched.
Hey there drcox central i know it was a year ago that u posted this but i just looked now and wow yes i remember Talespin (i'm nearly 30 now) that was a Disney Channel cartoon back in the early 1990's (probably 1990-1991) when I was like 10/11 and watching that...yes..even Balu the bear had that same aviator outfit/hat..the plane..the cargo business..the islands...has the same look/feel...it was like they crossed Tale of Gold Monkey with The Jungle Book characters..thanks for the memory
"Is that so? Really? Are you sure?" In my neighbourhood they took a year or two break and then aired new episodes. At least then it looked like a second season. The one glimpse I recall from "II season" had Jake (and Corky?) ride a sidecar motorbike over broken bridge to escape from a cave filled explosives.
ILMO Jeff MacKay (Corky). RIP, my friend.

The three written but unproduced scripts should be adapted into a motion picture. That would be neat.

I wonder if this show inspired Talespin, they both look similar and date in the 30s.

I'm a big fan of the 1930's, the adventure, the romance. This show was the BEST!

I loved this show! Wish I could get them on video. Very original, very creative. Ah, the 80's...
