  • Makes me think about my last engine rebuild? I never checked for this ! Good video thumbs up .

  • I dont care what kind of crank it is, I paid 2500 for mine and I still put a mic on it. the better your tolerances the less chance of problems my friend. check twice assemble once!

  • if it came right out of the box why was the timing chain gear on it?

  • @cbr900rr919 Because it was installed for mockup

  • So I suppose the rod journals were just as bad,nice.. Good to know that no matter how good something is supposed to be,it really pays to check it out thoroughly first.

  • @Oldbmwr100rs Rod Journals werent to bad actually- usually done on a separate machine in production setting

  • damn thats a piss poor grinding job .002 across that little bit of distance is insane, you would think that eagles grinders would have a probe to check the diameter across the land to check for taper, most cnc grinders do, or at least go thru some type of inspection to check the final diameters after all machining/polishing

  • holy crap .002 out of round thats piss poor for a grinding/polish job, i hope you called eagle to let them know, should be more like .0002, for as much as one of those cranks cost

  • what is the accuracy on grinding?

  • on average whats it cost to have an older crank ground and balanced?

  • what is the diff between internal and external balancing ?and how does it help in power #s? im looking to buy a crank kit and doing research to build the best bottom end i can.....

  • Now I know where to go if I ever need some performance maching. Bit of a drive from Green Bay but I think it would be worth it.

  • WOW!!!

  • was that a out of the box crank never ran?? or was it already run in an engine. thanks DC in fla

  • @dewy002

    Out of the box new-

  • @cpmotors good thing the owner brought it in your shop. is it normal that the journals are that much off with out-of-the-factory items?

  • @seasonedtoker No, that is not "normal" in the sense that it is not properly machined. Goes to show why it is very important to check EVERYTHING before putting your parts together

  • What model grinder is that? Looks like an old Storm Vulcan, very clean.

  • Its a 1958 Storm Vulcan 15, I just finished rebuilding/repainting it a while back. I wish my headstock started as smooth as yours.

  • That is awesome to see. I love seeing all the behind the scenes shots and the cool equipment I could never afford. Thanks for posting up!!!
