  • You are not required to successfully finish a Spanish proficiency exam prior to basic training. I'm not sure why it says that.

  • because you are not. You are required to pass a Spanish test OR a artificial language test to measure your ability to learn Spanish

  • Yeah, that was a big screw-up on the writers' part. Not only is the ALT an option, they indicate "Spanish proficiency test AT the academy" and that it comes prior to basic. I've been here more than 18 weeks and haven't taken a proficiency test yet.
