Finally someone who seems to do the same smart thing as I do, curb stomp every damn human body you see until they're nothing but a bloody stump, not just necromorph bodies. That way, those things that transform dead bodies into necromorphs will have nothing to transform.
Trust me, it works all the time. (First found it out in engineering with the dude dead on the chair in the room with the store and save point.)
In the room where you change the power nodes, there is a door at the far end of the hallway. If you pick all the bodies up and toss them out the door, then the two creatures that revive and mutate will have nothing to revive so you don't have to waste stasis on them.

Wait, the hunter is the one that regrows it's limbs and can't die. Pregnants are really fat and those little things, called swarms, come out. Brutes are the big things on all fours. I had a Brute scare me pretty badly during the part where you have to clear up the air. I walked around the corner and saw that thing charging at me and all I could say was "Oh Jesus!!" lol I found that stasis works well for them.
Oh boy, I haven't gotten this far yet, but it sure seems pretty creepy with the fast enemies whether you're on a empty stomach or not. Is this the first encounter with them?

It is running a little slow, but the weird thing is it's only in the output video. When I'm in game recording, it's a smooth 30 fps which is as high as Dead Space goes.
I have both and I honestly don't think you can really choose between the two for which is "better." Each system has its pros and cons.
lol i only wasted one pulse round clip on this part... mainly because i only had one pulse clip and no other ammo... so i used stasis and beat the hell out of them, and no... i didnt piss myself when i was in the corridor/hallway place after the laser.... i just pooped...

Jump down to the bottom of the room; there are little glowy things you can stomp on on both sides. Once they're all exploded, it opens up into space and you can throw them out with kinesis.
Dude, you must be playing this on easy because I had 4 Stasis Necromorphs come after me when you first encounter them in that room. When I fist saw them I thought something was wrong with my PS3. Lol
Just a small theory concerning one Necromorph getting the whole ship. There might been just a few regular crewmen opening the pod, since only a few Humans know Necromorphs exist.. they could not had seen it coming.
So one Necromorph taking down a few crewmembers become a crowd of nasties.
And considering how long the crew on the mining ship took to realize that cutting of the limbs are more effective than shooting the head, the soldiers would have little chance against them.
It's possible, but there were no animators with them(the flying bat looking thingies.) Not only that but *HOLY SHIT SPOILERS* you find more than one log on the Valor saying that the Ishimura had discovered the marker and possibly met with a hostile parasitic alien race.
If you're going in with that knowledge and STILL getting your ass kicked, you either fucking suck or it's a flaw in the writing.
Either way, it's still a great game and I should probably get around to finishing it.
Were there any logs indicating anything about them knowing more than the aliens being parasitic? Need to know more than that to go on.
One way though, if that the lone Necromorph maybe went into a vent, went to the bridge, killed the crew over there and with no one in control, the ship collided with the other. With the amount of damage, Necromorph crowds get into the ship, and then kills and infects the crew.
Cordar is right. The military Valor's never knew what necromorphs are and what they're weaknesses are. Surely they never knew that necromorphs kill secretly moving through the vents. When the Valor crushed to the Ishimura, Isaac became unconscious (we never knew how long). By then, Infectors could've gotten inside the Valor and infected the team to become Twitchers.
dEAD space is a shit jumpy game, EVERYONE USE THE FLAMER cause it pisses the zombies off and it dismebers them, i dunno how but there limbs just snap off!!!!!!!
that is one of the scarier levels. but how did a boatload of marines not take out the one necromorph in the pod? and how did they get infected? it was just a slasher, not an infector. there should also be tons of pulse rifle ammo, they are soldiers for crying out loud. But this is a good game. love it especially in the dark alone.

yeah, this game has a few technical story errors but i mean who cares, still scary as hell. i wish it had multiplayer, like teams alternate playing the miners and necromorphs and before the game starts you had points to pick and upgrade a weapon, and for the alien side, increase health, damage, speed, different attacks and play on atmospheric maps. a lost oppurtunity imo.
I'm personally glad they went for a full single player experience. Too many games are just throwing in single player as an afterthought, it's nice to be able to sit down with a quality game and lose yourself in the atmosphere.
thats true but multiplayer would help add replayability. Im playing through it for the second time and its not nearly as scary so now i have to wait a few months for me to forget so it would be scary again.

Play harder then, as you play on easy the game supposes u don't need to upgrade anything, so you can go through with the weakest weapon only.
