  • Hi, Pam!

I just uploaded Jaz' Take A Nap clip from 2010. I trained it the same way you did, but added "Go to your place" at the beginning to get her on the blanket, and "Stay" at the end, because, as you can see, she loves to run around with the blanket on her!!!

Also, I taught her to pick up the blanket between her front feet, so she gets well-covered by the blanket. Not so big a deal for little dogs!

  • @JazDog001 Jaz is so sweet! Great video, I approved the video response! The more videos of positive training that people see, the BETTER! :)

  • awwwww

  • I have to train this, it's so funny !!

    Thanks !!

  • so cute! will definately teach this when my puppy is a bit older and can roll over!

  • i may have to try this one out with lilo. once i finish the jump in arms vid responce i think this will be our next trick! lol. love it.

  • One day, it is my hope, to have Jasmine do this trick! She's really picky about what she'll hold in her mouth! (that's not edible!) We're working on this!! ;)

  • Very nice! Explanations made in a pleasant tone of the voice!

  • Great training video. Thanks

  • We could start this one, now that Jessie has finally learned how to roll over! It looks like great fun!

  • Great video and explanation Pam.

  • aaaaaww! I'm gonna try to film Chloe learning this. She's a little crazier border collie though!

  • Pam, thank you SO much for this! I was planning to teach Sparky this trick this week, and then I saw you posted a video, and I thought, "how perfect!". Now I know exactly how to start training Sparky. :) Thank you!

HA, I love Bandit's first try, I laughed out loud! What a cutie! He caught on really fast!

  • Thanks for sharing this Pam,

Now will be waiting patiently for Lizzy to show us Sparky doing the trick.

    ~Naomi and Brennan~

  • HAHA! that was awesome tutorial! :) Splash can do that trick BUT Kiko has no stimulus control over blankets, so she will just run and lay down on the blanket right as Splash starts to roll.... we need to work on that... :)

  • Awesome I was actually teaching my dog to take it with a glove tonight and then asking her to get it that would almost go along with what I was teaching her she was doing really good ...of course when I train my dogs I get them really hyper at times trying to make it a game for them cuz to me making it a game ...makes it more fun for them and you...awesome work!! will look forward to many more training vids =) maybe add some of mine on YT =)

  • Aww this is fantastic! :)

    xx

  • I will give this a try! :) Great video!

  • Pam, Bandit is so cute with those early tries! Kharma and I are working on "say your prayers" right now, but "nighty-night" will follow right after! Thanks for another great tutorial!

  • super cute. love those early attempts!

  • Hi Pam,

thank you very much for this!! I love this trick and always wondered how it was taught I will surelly give it a try with my dogs!

  • Thanks

  • Bandit sure does make this look easy! He caught on fast!

This is one of my favorite tricks, thank you for posting! We need to work on 'hold' but Mi knows the rest, so I look forward to teaching her this trick. 5*

  • And again a great tutorial! We are sure going to do this one!!

Thaxs Pam and of course Bandit

  • Love it. I'm going to give it a try.

  • Vraiment génial!!! :o)

  • thanks for sharing this tutorial! 5*

  • What a timely video for me! I just started teaching this to Ricky this week. We are good on everything except the "hold it" part. I find it really hard to communicate that he should keep the blanket in his mouth. So it will take awhile before we get to the roll over while holding the blanket stage! Thanks for this video - we were doing it exactly the same way. Bandit is darling!!!!!

  • It's like you've read my thoughts! I was just wondering the other day how I would be able to train this trick and now you made a tutorial! Thank you so much, Pam!

I love how Bandit seems to have so much fun doing this trick! Great job!

    - Nenne, Della, and Cherie

  • good job

  • awesome video

i've always wanted to teach my dog this and now i can thanks =D
