This game showed that VT deserves the recognition they've been getting as a top tier football program. Its just a shame they lost this one. Had they had decent o-line play and a healthy Darren Evans, who knows. Also, I was shocked at how Tyrod settled on being a "pocket passer" in this game rather than the duel threat he's known to be. There were plenty of times he would've hurt 'Bama with his legs. Note to Tyrod: JUST BE YOURSELF!

All things considered... the offense will be perfectly fine I believe... the Hokie defense, their speed, and their scheme are a really tough way to start a college career, Greg McElroy played out of his mind in the 4th quarter and luckily his only turnover was an INT that was not his fault... the run game founds its legs after they stopped doing that damn wildcat bullshit... once gave McElroy the option of multiple reads, the checked down and the ball moved rather easily
Virginia Tech played a great game and has a good team. Alabama is just better. Regardless of what the scored could have or should have been. We won!! and thats all that matters. Now the Tide has alot of work to do to make a run this season and they should be able to fix these mistakes!

upchurch fumble could have been a touchdown, that returned touchdown shouldn't have happened. blown coverage shouldn't have happened. And that 34 yard run I saw a nice holding so whats Rolando mcclain should have held his mouth and they should of gotted a field goal instead of a td so, take away those 2 tds and 4 points cause the td that should have been a fg and the final score is 41-6. 41-6= 35 points. But i know we won by 10 i dont live in a fantasy world.
Bama's flex 3-4 D could hold VT to about 130 yards total offense. Considering the top 10 teams' schedule today, Bama should move up in the polls w/ a big win over VT-- it should be a good game the first half, but I think Bama's depth especially on D will give them a 17 point win.
That's the problem though, "remember". It would be awesome if we still had Adibi, Hall Macho, Brett Warren, Flowers, but they're all gone. So we have to have new guys step up.

Tyrod can run.. Passing is decent.. Alabama will probably have the run shut down after 2 drives or so if the defense is still strong.. It should be.. Best linebackers in the country. you're right, so based on your analysis, I would have to give the edge to the Tide. VTech receivers were not productive. Saban's complex defensive schemes will be too much for Tyrod to make plays with his feet. We already discussed the rb situation. So, where will the pts. come from. The Off and Special Teams will not be able to give up points because that may be where VTech can only get them. Our Defense is NASTY and Tyrod is not a proven passer in which he will need to do to beat bama........
This will be a great game for both teams. I believe this is a game that the Tide can lose. However, if we do lose, the season is not lost. Like Coach said, it is a test to see where we stand as a team. I will be looking forward to it. I believe the VTech fans will bring even more energy than Clemson fans did last year. i to am a life long tech fan, havent missed but maybe 3 home games in the beamer era and im only 27. but i have to disagree with people that say stine is the prob. if you look at the numbers our offense was fine with stinespring before the hiring of new offensive line coach curt newsome. since hiring newsome our ppg avg. has been in the 22-25ppg range, when the 4 years stiny had b4 newsome it was in the 33-35ppg range. i believe oline is our weakest link recently and that newsome is our prob

in the 4th even with a few mistakes the Tide scored 18 ,Upchurch was on his way to a td but fumbled, Mclain blew his cool on a tech 15 yd loss, at the end of the game Tide couldve scored again , If not for the kickoff Score and busted coverage ttech got the bulk of yds on 3 plays,while the Tide pounded in 2nd 1/2

Well, if you look at the stats, it technically was a blowout. 498 yrds to a meager 155. Yeah, the hokies are good on special teams, that and some mistakes on Bama's part are the only thing that kept ya'll in the game. But honestly, VT got dominated tonight. Plain and simple. Hmmm, lets take a look at this. Redneck. Although I am by no means a fan of Rap, that is the soundtrack for this video. Rap and Redneck are terms that I don't normally see going together. I've been in AL all of my life and, although nothing worth a fanfare, my I.Q. of 133 is a bit higher than the ignorant standard associated with a redneck. Despite the low stats VT had on offense they stayed in the game, showed poise and class and gave us Tide fans a scare. Good game and good luck.

upchurch fumble could have been a touchdown, that returned touchdown shouldn't have happened. blown coverage shouldn't have happened. And that 34 yard run I saw a nice holding so whats Rolando mcclain should have held his mouth and they should of gotted a field goal instead of a td so, take away those 2 tds and 4 points cause the td that should have been a fg and the final score is 41-6. 41-6= 35 points. But i know we won by 10 i dont live in a fantasy world.

Bama's flex 3-4 D could hold VT to about 130 yards total offense. Considering the top 10 teams' schedule today, Bama should move up in the polls w/ a big win over VT-- it should be a good game the first half, but I think Bama's depth especially on D will give them a 17 point win.

Tyrod can run.. Passing is decent.. Alabama will probably have the run shut down after 2 drives or so if the defense is still strong.. It should be.. Best linebackers in the country. If Mcelroy can live up to the hype.. I mean 59 or so touchdowns senior year or highschool.. amazing. I predict Alabamas O-Line to struggle then pick it up. you're right, so based on your analysis, I would have to give the edge to the Tide. VTech receivers were not productive. Saban's complex defensive schemes will be too much for Tyrod to make plays with his feet. We already discussed the rb situation. So, where will the pts. come from. The Off and Special Teams will not be able to give up points because that may be where VTech can only get them. Our Defense is NASTY and Tyrod is not a proven passer in which he will need to do to beat bama........

This will be a great game for both teams. I believe this is a game that the Tide can lose. However, if we do lose, the season is not lost. Like Coach said, it is a test to see where we stand as a team. I will be looking forward to it. I believe the VTech fans will bring even more energy than Clemson fans did last year. I believe we have a greater chance to win just because of the unfortunate injury to Evans. He was important to their team. I like McElroy as well as our oline. Tough game to call.

However, I was born and raised in Bama, so always a bama fan First, the last time VT played Bama, they whipped us, no question. But the last 10 times we played VT, we won all by 360-60 (round about). i to am a life long tech fan, havent missed but maybe 3 home games in the beamer era and im only 27. but i have to disagree with people that say stine is the prob. if you look at the numbers our offense was fine with stinespring before the hiring of new offensive line coach curt newsome. since hiring newsome our ppg avg. has been in the 22-25ppg range, when the 4 years stiny had b4 newsome it was in the 33-35ppg range. i believe oline is our weakest link recently and that newsome is our prob
