  • Somebody, after hearing a world class violinist in concert, told him, "I'd give anything to be able to play like that!" To which the violinist replied, "Ma'am, would you give 10 hours a day for twenty years, forsaking all other activities toward practice and learning?"

God may have given these two men the ear and a bit of coordination, but He did not do it for them. Thank you for the post, ChuckAkins, thanks to these two musicians.

  • HOLY AMAZING!! ITS FUNNY HOW ALOT OF TODAYS YOUNG TELE "PLAYERS" ARE ALL BUYING THESE DR.Z AMPS BECAUSE OF BRAD PAISLEY LMAO!! LOOK AT THIS GUY HERE HE IS ..IMO.., A LITTLE BETTER THAN PAISLEY GUY AND IS MUCH LESS POPULAR AMONGST GUITARISTS EVERYWHERE!! FUNNY HOW SHIT WORKS.

  • Such unique, beautiful and of course outstanding technical playing. Scotty is a treasure.

  • i think 1 persons monitor was turned upside down when they accidentally hit the thumbs down :P

  • I still enjoy coming back to this tune....He does fabulous on all tunes he picks.

He has such a unique style ...Great simply great...Keep up the great work Scotty and please release more videos....10 stars......

  • GRRRRRRRRREAT playing!!!!!!!!

  • The Lord gave Scotty Anderson an amazing talent, the Lord gave us Scotty Anderson. Isn't GOD GOOD.

  • aww man. i discovered this when it had like a thousand clicks.

and i still need to check those guys out every now and then.

    They`re just so awesome!

  • THE BEST , MORE MORE FAB MUSIC

  • Scotty is truly a very listenable guitar picker in any one's world.

I continue to marvel at his unique style...Thanks for your positive comments and lets continue to watch this special guitar picker. 10 stars again.....Keep up the great work Scotty...

  • 10 stars for this effort....I just enjoy listeing and watching two great guitarists perform a very likeable tune like this.......A hall mark in creativity on both of these fine guys....Scotty...Keep up the great work...More videos please...Your fans love it....

  • This guy is the most underrated guitar play in America..He is by far better than EC who is good also but not quite like Scotty. Scotty is also ahead of Tommy Emmanuel. If your a picker just listen and look you will understand what I am saying. He is far superior technically than anyone......Absolutely a guitar pickers picker....Always a pleasure to watch and listen.....Keep up the great work Scotty, you have a very large following.....

  • @WillyJay3461

Well said;once you listen to Scottie and his choice of music you can see that his

knowledge of tunes and guitarmanship puts him way ahead of TE who has difficulty

in combining the two apects of a composite musician.

  • 5*s! Excellent playing....

  • I'm enjoying Bob's playing as much as Scotty's on these clips. He's like the sage old master who says all that needs to be said in a few words.

  • I'd love to know how Scotty gets that lovely tone ... what pickups, amp, etc?

  • @wapzilla

From his early 90's instructional video, he was using a Fender Twin Reverb with JBLs and his Telecaster had JM Rolph pickups, not sure if that's what he's using here but probably not far off. Combine that with one of the most gifted players of all time, and there you have it :)

  • Will do

  • This is their best yet !

Both are brilliant in their own ways, and do full justice to this Johnny Cash ballard.

    Regards, Chris

  • 1:53-2.04 how did he do that?

    Still standing here speechless

  • Lookup Lenny Breau

  • I'd say Mr. Anderson just gave a lesson in the importance of understanding the fret board.

  • Well, as a player who can't touch either one of them, who cares who's better than what? The greats are all unique and add something to the mix that no one else has. Enjoy it all!

  • I wonder if certain posters on this page are just fans i.e. not players, because how anyone can say that that Clapton is better than Scotty is just silly. Or, put another way, Scotty can play anything Eric can play, but Eric could never play even a small portion of Scotty's stuff.

  • In my 50-plus years of finger pickin,' this is one of the best pieces of playing I've heard. It has a tad of everything ! Zowie !

    Larry

  • check out the video The best ghost rider on guitar

  • This is a great clip. It's good to see that Scotty can knock you out with taste as well as chops.

  • I believe 'ol Bob put a big fat "eat shit" on the end of his solo with that fat backin' up chord progression....nobody commented on his playin' so....there you have it

  • Great stuff-really ove the pedal steel style effects

  • Scotty is as good as it will ever get. He rivals

Chet and far exceeds all the other modern day pickers. Just my humble opinion.

  • Ha ha ha Clapton better than Scotty , what planet are you from

  • why I said that is because I know scotty he is very good friend with my dad believe it or not

  • I'm also sure you're full of crap too.

  • fuck you ask him about Steve Mahoney.

  • Yeah, I guess I could since I too know him. He's also good friends with my dad as well. See how easy it is to lie on here? There's always someone on here who claims they know someone famous or semi-famous. You're probably one them.

  • Well I dont care what you say I have nothing to prove to you.

  • Clapton while being one of the greats is nowhere near this

  • Eric Clapton NEVER played like this! This is light years beyond EC.

  • @knowMusicMan SCREW EC!!

  • bélissimo !

  • Scotty makes me wanna pick up my guitar and give up at the same time. No other guitarist(maybe with the exeption of Lenny Breau)has or ever will reach his level of knowledge and technique.

In my mind he is, without doubt, the greatest guitarist alive today.

  • I agree, 100%

    A true master.

  • What about Danny Gatton?

  • Haha someone else asked me the exact same thing:) Obvously i greatly admire Gatton, he is a fantastic player and i love the country influence in his improv.

However scotty just makes me stop and listen in pure awe!! In my opinion at least he is on a different level to anything else i've heard.

  • You have to hear Tommy Emmanuel. Mostly acoustic, but also can play electric. A true genius.

  • thats beautiful man

  • Scotty use to play with some locals here in Melbourne, Kentucky at a bar I was working at. I did not know who he was, at the time, but his smooth classy playing just blew me away! Still does today!

  • uh... wow!

  • That's so fuckin good it's scary...

    ;-)

  • That`s so good it`s scary...
