It's too hard to watch an old, meditative Peter Criss, while listening to a super-hype, ultra-fast Eric Carr drumming. Replace the Criss clips with some Carr clips, and you've got yourself a decent video.
You can tell it's Eric Carr on drums. Peter couldn't slam the skins that hard on his best day. He'd pass out 45 seconds into the song if he even tried.
Peter definitely had a lite touch on the drum and played a little behind the beat. I was suprised when I saw them in 96 how light Peter played. Kind of refreshing. Every drummer in Kiss after Peter had more chops than him but his style wasnt about flash, he just grooved.
For my money, Eric was the superior drummer but Peter had the better voice and groove about him. The "Hard Luck Woman" video shows it all in one package. All in all I think Peter has a greater TRUE love for music than all the other members combined.
