  • @ 4:58 i laughed out loud :) your videos are great Matthias, very informative with great detail

  • I used these in my projects

  • Could one use these for a small CNC machine you think?

  • Nice to see you do some metal work too.

  • How difficult is it to learn to say "Out" properly?

  • LOL you couldn't just say bearings?

  • Ball bearings are the whole enclosed bearings. Just because most people get it wrong doesn't mean I have to be.

  • @Matthiaswandel Wel, he didn't say "ball" bearings, he just said bearings, wich is a correct statement.

  • 4:57 ... That's what she said!!

  • I'd like to know what software he uses to to clip his videos together? Also he could really use his own camera crew. Better yet he could have his own show on GTV easily.

  • I want a much larger track of balls!

  • OK, I know I am going to regret this but after I post this comment I am going to increase my likelyness of pulling out what hair I have left, by Subscribing. I know it is only going to make me feel bad watching how good you are at what you do. Thanks for your expertise in your woodworking, metal work, calculations and video production abilities, not to mention the whole list of your other abilities. It would only depress me more if I were forced to expound upon them. - I will try to keep sane.

  • clean the balls...LoL...too...iam thinking you should design a better one..are you workin for expert village? hehehe u showd show'em what u know..reallyi have never seen sombody so patient, and into what they weere doin..good job!!!!! i like to see more of ur work...

  • clean the balls...LoL...too...iam thinking you should design a better one..are you workin for expert village? hehehe u showd show'em what u know..really

  • 3:55, who doesn't want a much longer track of balls.

  • Another informative video. It's good to see that there's folks out there still sharing practical and ingenious knowledge like this.

  • What does the sound starting from 3:07 remind you? A steam engine!

  • Excellent work

  • when did you start doing this kind of stuff, engineering and woodworking. you are such a talented guy, i really enjoy watching your stuff. keep it up!

  • @OldSchoolSkill are you being sarcastic?

  • If anyone is thinking where get good sliders, ask from your company IT department. Every company has out of service old servers, and old servers has very solid sliders.

  • I got some balls you can clean

  • @Tigarius4 -___-

  • nice wooden slot mortiser! we have a factory build metal one at school, but it is no where as cool as yours!

  • Great video man. Keep em coming :D

  • You have such great imagination!

  • I imagine these don't play well with dust. Any experience with long term use of these slides?

  • So far, after 18 months in my slot mortiser, no issues.

  • Endlich mal ein Deutscher der ohne schrecklichen Aktzen englisch sprechen kann! Echt gute Videos..immer sehr nützlich und hilfreich! Mach weiter so!

Ich hoffe ich habe recht und du bist auch deutsch oder kannst es zumiendest sprechen?! dein name klingt einfach so sehr nach einem Landsmann! :D:D:D

Thumbs up everyone who didn´t understand this! And those who did : Ihr rockt!! :D:D:D

  • Build my house !!!

  • title rhymes... youre a genius

  • Wow. I've been thinking about using drawer slides for a project for quite a while now. These tips were great! Thank you for this video!

  • Nice tutorial. You would think that with all the jigs woodworkers make that 'someone' would clue in and sell a cheap glide for these applications that wouldn't require modifications. Rockler are you listening? :^)

  • I've said this before, and I don't mind repeating: part of Matthias' artistry is his video production. Because his woodworking skills are so terrific, his video production tends to go unnoticed.

  • @NOLAMarathon2010 I love his videos. He assumes your intelligent so he doesnt waste your time with pointless crap. He gets straight to the point and its rare on youtube.

  • Excellent. Recycle, reuse and re-purpose.

  • LOOKS LIKE A JOB FOR ANGLE GRINDER MAN

  • Why does this remind me of Assassins Creed?

  • I'm sure what ever this is for, It will be just as nice as your other projects. Good Job.

  • Putting a bit of grease on the holes and then letting it keep the balls in place always worked fine for me =)

  • Nice! Thanks! :)

  • Thats awesome.

  • i love your videos because you are so well spoken. You never pause to say "uh, um". You are also very good at explaining what you are doing and you also have good lighting and camera angles. Just great all around. You are the smartest person on youtube

  • @bricelee2 all he does is say um and uh, lighting is good tho

  • what machine is that for?

  • More on that in a few weeks...

  • @Matthiaswandel Weeks?? NooooooOOOoooooo.... :(

  • @Matthiaswandel Oh the suspense!

  • @Matthiaswandel from the URL "pantorouter", I'd guess something using a pantograph? But I admit I fail to see how, if the router glides in only one direction…

  • Like others, I'm hoping that this is the beginning of a series, showing the complete construction of WHATEVER it is you're making. What ARE you making anyway?

Also, (you may have addressed this in another video, and if so I apologize) what type of plywood are you using when you're building a machine like this?

  • I love this channel! Thanks for sharing your ideas and methods. They are very helpful :)

  • great video!

  • so whats the machine?! more videos to come i assume?

  • funny, I just used draw slides for a catapult I'm making for Physics class. the draw sliders are my launching mechanism, they'll be pushing the arm up, probably going to power them using bungie cords but not sure yet...

  • even though i can do any of this stuff ..i still enjoy watching your videos

  • If you grease the ballcage the balls will be held in place by the grease.

  • @Arnthorg ...ew...

  • Another nice video. Mind sharing what kind of machine this will be?

  • 3:03 the most exciting part
