Varner beat amazing talent to pull this feat off and he is a great hall of famer. Back to back US Opens was unthinkable when Varner did it. Immonen matched that feat and did something even more thinkable, and that was defeating more persons than Varner to become a back to back US Open Chamion. How nice is it that the only two guys to ever do it are so classy and good for the sport. They are both fierce competitors, but classy. To have the only two involved in the Mosconi Cup is awesome.

Ya its a pretty big accomplishment for sure, hes only the second guy to do it since Varner won b2b in 89 & 90. 20 years is a long time in any sporting event for b2b champs. I guess us pool players are soo numerous that its quite hard to repeat as the Greats such as Mika and Varner have.
