it's funny that at the time Leonard Nimoy was trying to avoid typecasting and disassociate himself from Spock --- only to have the girls on the show wearing those dumb. oversized Spock ears. Actually, no. Biblo resisted the evil of the ring longer than ANY of them did, and in the end he managed to let go of the ring, which frodo could not do. Bilbo single handily saved all the dwarves in the party twice: once from the elves, and then from the spiders in the forest, went face to face with the most powerful creature in middle earth (Smaug). The only Hobbit that may be comparable to him is Sam who faced Shelob for the love of his friend.
