  • They don't allow you to get close enough to see all the described detail. In fact, we had to use the zoom on our camera to see the painting, but II was happy to be at The Louvre and see it at all it made me cry. This description is done well.

  • Thanks. Good traditional analysis.

  • If you watch some other videos. They do editing and stuff to make it look like him and other weird things. First of all they didn't have all that editing stuff 500 years ago. So how did he know that it would do that. He didn't. So all the other videos who edited it and said that's the real reason. Get the heck real and grow up. So childless.

  • Has anyone noticed where ever u stand and look at Mona Lisa it looks like she is watching you .

  • I think leonardo da vinci is mona lisa, he could of been a hermaphrodite, which was the true code probably imagining himself as a woman smiling nobody will ever know, but thats what I think he was that.

  • The only reason Mona Lisa became so famous out of the hundreds of thousands of Old masters paintings is beacuse of her smile. Leonardo poineered this technique of diffusion where colours and lines gradually merge without any line of demarcation. He used this technique to perfection in her smile where her smile is not bracketed and diffuse gradually creating an illusion of movement and reality and because it is done so subtly it does appear different from time to time and to different observers.

  • Look at this :

    daily motion.com/video/xm975x_mona-lisa-revealed_creation

  • this is overrated ...its just a simple painting of a woman !

  • @oMrzubier just what i thought

  • @oMrzubier... I was thinking the same thing.

  • yeah i notice that she doesn't have eyebrows,i think everybody should notice that

  • Great video, thanks for the upload!

  • Has anyone ever noticed, that she doesn't have eyebrows?

  • the mona Lisa has no eyebrows

  • I took a painting of the Mona Lisa, then turned it black and white and then made it into a negative. After I did that and then turned it upside down. Guess what I found next to her face? Leonardo Da Vinci Himself. Take a look at my videos and see it for yourself.

  • why mona lisa is in france???......shameee

  • Leonardo was the victim of rumors. Not only did he love Isabella of Aragon, Duchess of Milan and Bari aka "Mona Lisa", He also had 5 children with her. Namely Francesco di Melzo, Giovanna d' Aragon, Antoniono di Aragon, Maria, and Isabella the Younger. All recorded in history as nobles but history does not record their parents. ??!!! A man of illegitimate birth and a royal princess.... it was not done! Isabella and her children were painted repeatedly in the DaVinci circle of artists.

  • Si vous voulez avoir le décryptage TOTAL de La Joconde, comme il n'avait

Titre : "Isis, La Joconde révélée". Prix : 19 euros. 84 pages.

  • dude if u watch the history channel its says the leo is gay and his lover was his assassistance

  • stop treating her like a lad rat europe

  • ever stopped to wonder that this could just have been but a painting...period! but then we all made a big deal out of it trying to demystify it and all....i mean, since when did her right hand resting over her left hand been a subject for discussion...and why would i wanna wrack my brain trying to imagine how her legs could have been positioned? my two cents..

  • is this (spoken) text from the 1963 publication that accompanied the national gallery exhibition?

  • Da Vinci Was Guy lol I Cant Draw This Its For My Homework

    Shit!

  • He did put a code or to be more precise a map in the painting. Look at my videos and you'll find some very amazing things I've discovered about famous paintings. You won't be disappointed.

  • why the hell is the mona lisa not in the Da Vinci museum in Italy? French don't deserve this, first they treat us italians like shit, and then they want to keep our most valuable stuff

  • @Mario60665

the french also got DaVinci himself! haha.

  • @bishopdante meh! Who gives a shit, after all, we beat the french in the 2006 world cup. Poor idiots, they really thought that they could beat us.

  • @Mario60665 : If Italy has a museum named after Leonardo, then the Mona Lisa belongs there, not in the Louvre.

  • @Margui622 I know, right?

  • It is an open secret that nobody dares to reveal: the real Mona Lisa is in Madrid, the Prado Museum, which is preserved in the Louvre Museum is your copy

  • see the video, "my creative element tannery row artist colony"

  • Behind the glitz, fame and theories, The Mona Lisa is a painting portrait of eternal technical excellence in oil painting! For it's time, it's simply astounding, I think people forget just how groundbreaking and innovative it was! Even today, most professional painters cannot reach or match Leonardo Da Vinci's level!

  • Also, her finger are shaped into the Holy Trinty. This could be a painting of Christ. However, i did some math with these new letters and numbers found in her eyes and ive come to another conclusion. The Mona Lisa is Julia Balbilla.

  • i have to replicate a painting that vinci did in art class this week, just dont know what one to do :L

  • Wow, j'adore l'art de Paris. Est-ce que vous connaisez les pavilons de l'exposition universelle de 1900? Ce sont mes favorites J'ai trouvé des photos magnifiques et tres intéressantes sur mun iphone.

  • If you love art, check this: The Death of the Tree - Carmen Redondo

  • Why is she talking so slow?

  • But will it blend?

  • He is very beautiful!!! And to the people who think she's fake, she's not!!!!! They have a record of Madonna lisa de Maria!!!! So f*** you!!!!

  • Write in youtube: THE SECRET OF MONALISA- PYRAMID AND ALL-SEEING EYE

  • Retournez à Florence, sa ville natale où elle est née. Le seul endroit pour que appartient!

Return it to Florence, his hometown where she was born. The only place to ensure that belongs!

  • The Mona Lisa is sooooo sexy! :-)

  • You know the right side of her face seems more masculine than the left. Like if you cover the left side of the face it kinda looks like a guy and if you cover up the right it looks more feminine. But that's just what I see

  • So I reincarnated Myself as da Vinci, and I thought, I'll paint Our faces together, and maybe She'll remember that IAM=AMY . . . but She never remembers, because She has such a bad memory.

  • maybe im over looking it.......but i think that the mona lisas eye and the illuminati eye...(on the dollar bill) look like the same eye????

    hmmmm.....i think it is yo!!!!!

  • see my song "mona lisa" on ww.tenfingers.nl

  • HOW COULD YOU NOT LOVE LA JOCONDA?IT HAS IT'S OWN LIFE ,WHICH WILL CONTINUE WHEN WE ARE ALL GONE. I've YET TO BE ATTRACTED TO ANY OTHER PAINTING .

  • interesting

  • huuhhh...ugly panting

  • Interestingly, there still remains the inquisitive question or judgment on whether some of the women Leonardo da Vinci painted in many of his famous portraits are men secretly disguised. Interestingly enough, if one was to peer in a magazine or some other form of pictorials exhibiting beautiful women from around the world, most of their facial features are of a masculine-manly nature. "Check-it-out" some time, this still boggles me.

  • @lmorganjr

Maybe the models are chosen cos they would appeal to most of the magazine readers; women and gay men. just a thought.

  • Man i to would cost you TRILLIONS of dollas for that thing plus no one can pob. never buy it cause the french will prob. never saleit because its such a GREAT painting

  • I visited the 'Louvre' with my girlfiend many years ago! (Maybe it was 1994? I don't remember! We where looking out for the Mona Lisa!

Once we found, we where disappointed,

Because It's such a small Painting..!

And a crowd of people was standing in front of it, so we could'nt see the whole painting...

But, nevertheless, it was somehow very special...

Leonardo was one of the greatest artist ever lived on this planet...

  • french is fucking thief

  • Comment removed

  • how much is it worth i wanna buy it? ha jk but how much is it worth

  • @TheFalloutMasta

    around 2 billion atm.

  • Italy miss it.

  • wonder wher the original painting is??

  • in french :(

  • mona lisa reminds me of my boss, she always have that gleam in her eyes and a smirk on her face when she walks around the office as if she knows something that you don't

  • This is a beautiful painting!

Those that do not care to take a deeper look at this great masterwork, go ask yourself this one question:

What is "great" artwork to YOU?

  • i was in louvre in paris this summer and i saw mona lisa ...:)

  • Its been said that during that period women wore a transparent shroud to show they were either pregnant or have just given birth...

  • mona lisa is a man??

  • molto bene

  • I love this PICTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • she is smiling because when we take photographs we say "say cheese!". that is all..

  • the thing is, the painting took 3 years to paint, and back then no one smiled in paintings, now its different :D

  • really? no one smiles in paintings?? wow.. i didnt know that!! thank you!!

mona lisa is definitely an intriuging woman indeed!

  • i hate this

  • you stress me mada fack

  • It is a beautiful portait painting. But the more time that I spent on staring on the painting, it looks like a girlish boy. From a documentary that I watched in high school about Leonardo da vinci, he was gay and suspected of having intercourse with his young apprentience.

  • This is a very beautiful picture

    <3

  • I wonder what she would look like working out at gym, or with an ipod ;)

  • WFYI?

and its sex is always open to interprtation

  • i dont care how popular she is i think she's a bit on the ugly side.

  • You can say that but she is neither girl nor man she is both. She is a union of both.

  • says who?

  • Some curator O.o I was watching it on Wfyi about Da vinci

  • did u no she has no eye brows

  • That was the style back then.

  • my brother went to the louvre and saw the mona lisa and said the eyes actually follow u! he took a pic and they're staring right and his camera!! scary

  • It's not the painting you should look at to try to find some clues, it's in her name. The best secret is hidden in most obvious place where no one would look. Also that is not her real name and its not spelled like that. I know the meaning of her name, I know what each letter means and I know how to read it and what the secret is. Well, its not the secret but it's something you're not able to accept. The trick is, his own name is in the secret. And its so simple to decode it, its funny.

  • actually there is no "secret code" in the mona lisa. Those rumors have come up simply because it is the most scrutinized painting in history.

  • that's what you think

  • i mean, there are absolutely no facts supporting your claims. So based only on fact, there are no ridiculous "secret codes."

Da Vinci carried this around with him everywhere until he died. so why would he put a code in it if he didn't show it to people?

  • So...do you go around and tell people youre pin number of youre bank card? lol :) what's wrong with you? If you looking at this picture and trying to find the code in it, Im sorry to say but you are crazy. The so called code is not a code that you would find in Enigma. Ill give you a clue. The biggest criminals are always next door to the police station. Think about it.

  • your metaphor doesn't really make any sense... my pin number protects all my money. a code in a painting would not be protecting anything. If he put a code in the painting, he must have wanted someone to see it at some point... otherwise he wouldn't put some code in it. and seeing as he never parted with the painting, it's probably just that: a painting.

  • Comment removed

  • @fackinjacksack

Now I'm not saying there is a code, but I do know for a fact that all of his notes & research are written in a really bizarre code for his eyes only.

  • @bishopdante no, his notes and research are not written in a "really bizarre code." They are simply written from right to left, instead of left to right. Besides that, there is nothing unusual about his writing. If he meant for it to be a "code for his eyes only," then he was really, really bad at making codes.

  • 3.47 something is wrong with her hair at the left said.the hair at the raight said are straight, but at the left said?

  • What do you guys think of Adolf Hitler?

  • it is said that this, the mona lisa is the wife of Jezus christ.

  • mona lisa is DaVinci

  • yes, but he painted the wife of Christ, as it is said, there's a lot of symbolegy coming to that.

  • Da vinci is a great man! The MAN!

  • it's just such a beautiful painting. There are many theories on why Leonardo Leonardo Da Vinci came about making this masterpiece, but all i know is, is that this is a magnificant painting.

  • jajajaja la taniaaaaa

  • old brains

  • Advice to Mr Davinci...

    Next time buy a Nikon!

    ;)

  • feminista

  • beautiful!!!

    thanks!!!

  • For those who dont know, the Mona Lisa that is located in the Louvre is actually a perfect replica made by the student of Leonardo Da Vinci. the real Mona Lisa is located in an air sealed vault, and the location of the vault is unknown.

  • really where did you hear this?

  • Sorry, buddy, you are wrong. The real MonaLisa is the one exposed in the Louvre. I was decieved beacuse it is behind a thick glass or plexiglass under air-conditonioned environment; and you can not see it from less than 3 metters distance marked with a thick cord. That way it is less impressive, but nobody can dismiss the merit of Leonardo -whose remains are buried in a Chateau in Amboise or Blois- who certainly did a masterwork of art.

  • MONKEY FART

  • Can anybody tell me why the painting Mona Lisa is smiling?(I have been trying to find out ever since i saw the painting!)

  • can some one help me? comment on my channel in my art class theres a painting that i really want to paint it looks like a man eating glass with long hair and lots of colors iv been searching forever for the name! someone please help!

  • actully it has since been proven that the Mona Lisa did in fact have eyes brows and eye lashes when originally painted. there is an exhibit touring the world right now titled "DaVinci: The Genius" . Pascal cote' was given the opportunity to view and examine the Mona Lisa using new technilogy and was able to determine the original colors and under cover many other mysterys of the Mona Lisa

  • People make a mountain out of a molehill with this painting. The eyes following you are just imaginary, and da vinci probably just painted the smile like any other smile. What im saying is that da vinci didnt intend the painting to be a mystery. Her having no eyebrows could have been a fashion statement at the time.

  • she doesnt have any eyebrows!!

    haha!

  • Having no Eyebrow, means that if you understand Art, you would know that Eyebrows are symbol of a human expression of feelings that mostly exposed revealed to you thru their faces!

This would take your attention to her lips where you see the famous mysterious smile..!

& The real name of this painting is the " the Jocound's smile"!

  • my personnal opinion about the mona lisa is that the mona lisa is an important person...divine person ..perfect woman..that will appear one day..i dont know who that is and how he imagined to create her

  • greetings to Rossmary Valverde I love naif art

  • watch this! amazing painter! --->  /watch?v=Djd58mAEups

  • im with bollytube

the painting is old so some small peaces came off

and leonardo da vinci didnt know this would happend

  • The question still stands that WHY do people concentrate on that painting, Leanardo Da Vinci didn't have any secrets in his paintings, people made up these secrets by looking at them closely, Leonardo Da Vinci didn't make any secrets in the painting the are just some coincidence.

  • no one is sure, that's the problem

  • i agree in some ways but leonardo was a very complex man. no one knows what he was thinking when he painted it.

  • grits aint groceries

    eggs aint poultry

    Mona Lisa was a man

  • Homo Lisa

  • Mona Lisa is Loe Da Vinci himself......get over it.

  • have u noticed that she has no eyebrows

  • Women back in those days would pluck facial hair.

  • OK now; Mona Lisa about her entire reality in

this picture, her smile, etc:this is what she thinks:the picture will be the best one in the world.

Leo was a very cool painter, because she was an impatient lady at the same time, and an oil is not an instant.

  • Nat King Cole did this.

  • oh dear..the world must be a difficult place for you

  • I do agree...

But an imaginary blue lake landscape... one can imagine the Mona from behind

  • Noorbie,

    This is CLASSIC!!

    Tom T.

  • Man thats crazy!!! am sceared

  • wunderbar!

  • Awesome!

  • i think thats part of why it is so famous. people like mystery.

  • (oh, clumsy me, -I just "think of that philosophy", not what it means, -that we allready know. Just in case misunderstands, puhh)

  • There were two columns on either side of her, that was cutted away. It is said that it was to fit the owners bathroom (?) But I think of Leos philosophy, "fsumatu", means that the world is constantly changing. Columns are "constant." See the paintings he did a bit late. Everything in a flow, or nothing constant..

  • It is quite obvious that Leonardo painted this, to let us wonder forever.. (her eyebrows can`t be seen. Another way to make her "expression" so mystical, and so we cannot make up our mind about her..

  • mona lisa is half a man and half a woman just cut the picture through the middle and youll see the differances...

  • did you know...

    1. The real painting was never finished?

    2. The real person who posed for the mona lisa was never identified?

    3. Scientists believe the person posing as for the painting was pregnant?

  • really???????wow

  • iloveYOUgrandadSEYOUinTHEisland

  • dupa

  • i don't see the great in it either... and that Picasso

people never think of true artists like Michaelangelo because he really didn't do portraits

  • Bisogna ammettere che Leonardo è stato un italiano degno, bravissimo Da vinci :)

  • because you have no tast.

  • to comment on someone's taste you first need to learn how to spell it.

  • The guy spelled sucks SUX and your getting on my case because i didnt put the E in taste? Also it seems to me you also have no TASTE. or know anything about art. punk kid

  • nice documentary clip
