He's done some great things on the show, but I dislike this final collection. Some pieces were good, but most of it was just too much. Some of the colors he used conflicts way too much with the pattern.

I love Mondo's aesthetic but it's too much. The goal is a collection, not trotting out every rad thing you can think of. Editing was needed; occasional places where the mind could rest a moment in order to enjoy the outrageous charm. Gretchen rightfully won on her aesthetic, as well as cohesiveness, restraint, and editing. I did find her jewelry cheap looking, but whatever.

Personally I love all the collections, people tend to forget that these are separate designers and they design for a specific woman. Mondo collection was amazing because i love his mixture of patterns, colors, and textures. I love the fact that this look was for a more youthful. You all act as if there are no rich young girls in the world. Gretchen look was polish and sophisticated as well as earth girl. Mondo took refreshing fashion risk.

Yeah Michael Kors called that gown from season 4 "Gorgeous" and couldn't stop raving about it. Not only was it hideous, completely engulfing his model, but it wasn't even particularly flattering, yet he calls out this gorgeous polka-dot gown for covering up the model too much. That's what immediately came to my mind when I saw this. Since he said that about Mondo's, I wonder if he now takes back what he said about Siriano's monstrosity of a gown

What I was surprised about was how Kors contradicted himself in this finale with that of what he said to another winner. In this episode he criticized Mondo's polka-dot gown for covering up the model too much, yeat it had a low back, and was very figure conscious and sleek. Yet in season four does anyone remember Christian Siriano's hideous Big Bird "couture" gown from his collection that completely covered his model head to toe (no skin showing hardly even face or hands) its on youtube....

I personally preferred Gretchen's collection, but I can see the value in this one as well. And, all the finalists on this show are getting instant national exposure that will help them to kick-start their businesses.

Both Gretchen and Mondo were walking on a fine line (old-looking & costume-looking respectively) but both succeeded equally well. When I saw their pieces before the show, I liked Mondo's the best; but during the show, I was most inspired by Gretchen's.

Heidi did wear that polka dot dress but she modified it as what Micheal & Nina had suggested (i.e. revealing more skin), which just proved that Micheal & Nina were right. The dress is stunning but only on that model who wore it; not many people can wear that dress and I don't like its fit on Heidi at all.

Loved every single piece of his collection, too bad he didn't win he really did put together a really strong collection in showmanship and everything he did was done by him not manufactured like Gretchen's stuff.

And as for Mondo's being too much atleast it didn't look sad, drab and old to whom which i'm not surprise is why Nina and Michael liked it oh yeah and of course we have to give to american sportswear. @fabulousron Personally i liked Gretchen's collection more i liked the earthy tones she used and how the clothes had a vintage feel. If you want to walk around in bright colors and crazy patterns go ahead!

Even though Gretchen's clothes were not nearly as eye-catching and fashion forward, her models hands down looked the best on the runway. Mondo's styling made his clothes look a lot more youthful than they really were, and that's what ultimately cost him the win in my opinion.

Gretchen's clothes are not ugly, they're just drab. I disagree with Michael and Nina and some of the other folks offering their opinions (like Jay Manuel - LOL!). If a bunch of granola-lovin' white girls wanted something chic to wear to Whole Foods, then they'd wear Greatchen's clothes. With Mondo, his looks are exciting, eye catching & truly chic. They're infused with a diverse perspective that comes from his culture - and I love that!

@soaponarope433 yeah i noticed that; he said in an interview it was because "There’s this thing they do where it’s like a first run or a practice run and they do the taping. And for the taping, she wore the necklace, and I thought – I loved that necklace and it really represented me. I think it’s fun and it really complements my vision of found objects, like Aztec wood and beads, so I just threw it on her.

I LOVE Mondo's Collections. Pieces 1 (♥ & the handbag too), 3 (MY FAVORITE), 5, 6, 7, 9 (my 2nd fav) & 10 are simply AMAZING!!! I hope Mondo's goes on to design more pieces like this for the world to enjoy. His line makes me smile. :)
