In the European campaign, between 25,000 to 40,000 died in the firebombing of Dresden. Over six million died in concentration camps. And in Nanking, China? Three hundred thousand in the city, another 500,000 in the surrounding areas. No. The bomb may have been a horrible weapon, but it's use saved more lives than it took. The Japanese would've fought to the last breath.

The ends justify the means, the atomic bombs are what made modern diplomacy via mutual agreements possible.
