my mom had one....It was the worst car ever.3 months after she bought it brand new in 2006 it started giveing us sooo many problems.She barely drove it and treated it soo good.She talked to other people who had one and same thing the dealer didnt even stand behind the warrantys saying it wasnt a manufacture problem that the oil was leaking and the a/c broke.There were alot more problems.THe tranny would slip alot and have problems backing up in reverse.She trad'd it for an accord and is so happy

my other uncle has an x5 also doing great at 50km and my other uncle has a 90 something 7 seriese ... i guess you were unlucky because bmws are great cars

BMWs are actually very reliable as long as they are properly maintained and not neglected and beaten. My 3 series has 215,000 miles on it and she runs strong. My old 5 series had 315,000 miles on it and was still running strong when I sold it. I barely put any money into them. I just keep up on the maintanence which isnt expensive. It really unfair that a few BMW owners have bad luck and that gives all BMWs a bad name. They are actually great cars!
