  • I'M ON A HORSE!

  • I would love to eat whale meat...

  • Woah. Cuba Gooding Jr. back on a screen?

    Woah.

  • i love how for the ad, it's promoting a savings that "ended on 12/6/10" as it says in really small print.

  • I still crack up every time i see this! "It's more fun watchin' em jumpin'!"

If you don't think it's funny, perhaps you're taking yourself too seriously.

  • I cant believe they actually think this is a good idea.

  • Wow, these people care more about money than nature, WHY CUBA GOODING JR!? WHY DID YOU HAVE TO APPEAR ON THIS HORRIBLE AD!?

  • This is great advertising: funny, gets peoples attention and ultimately makes people remember the name. These are jokes so...go plant a tree or something if this makes you mad.

  • Love it! XD

  • what better way to get talked about than with controversy ... sleazy and ballsy

  • It just doesn't stop for Groupon ever since that disasterous Super Bowl ad.

  • I think groupon likes to be dicks by making offensive commercials. Because boats are harming whales and then theirs the Tibet commercial

  • THE NEXT GROUPON!

    Savemoney4life . thecustomeradvantage . com

we dont waste money on superbowl commercials or anything. we use our money on people and we go by the word of the mouth. this is where you wanna put your money into

  • I was offended when I sat the Timothy Hutton ad, but I'm starting to get it with this one. While they may be somewhat exploiting the sympathy people have for a certain cause, they are showing that people can have money to spend on other things if they use Groupon, and they're also dedicating ad time to a particular cause. This obviously doesn't come off clearly, but it does make you wanna give to save the rainforest instead of buying something, right?

  • I didn't know Radio could talk that well!

  • Funny

  • the commercials are premised on saving something endangered — and a few bucks to boot they got to make money lets be realistic least they use half the commercials for good wile lining there pocket at the same time if other big cooperations did this we would be much better off

  • This company is one of the most uncaring ones I've seen.

  • Of the three, this is the only Groupon ad that wasn't awful.

  • Fantastic commercial - made me laugh which is unusual for a TV ad these days. I guess if you're a greeny tree-hugging hippy, you might find it offensive. Otherwise, enjoy the discounts GroupOn brings!

  • this is unresponsibility, not a great job!

    annoyingg!!

  • I laughed so hard when I saw this. Hilarious!

  • groupon youtube hits: 58,672

vw darth vader force ad youtube hits: 29,622,915

    time to re-think your strategy.

  • I wasn't offended, but I didn't think it was that funny either. So, uh, GREAT JOB!

  • Everyone needs to relax, this is hilarious.

  • Cuba's right. It's much more fun watching whales jump. The Tibetans also most definitely DO whip up an amazing fish curry. And, Ms Hurley got it correct as well, not ALL deforestation is bad.

Relax people. Nothing and I mean nothing is immune to being made fun of.

  • @EBLover4Life You're my hero! Thank you for your comment! EBLover4Life = Win! I'm glad that I'm not the only one who laughed through these commercials. You're awesome!

  • i hope everyone who thinks these are funny gets a groupon for an AIDS filled rape.

  • This Ad is freakin Great

  • Haha! Bleeding heart pansies make me happy on the inside. You over-sensitive, self-affirming nitwits need to straiten your tampons and lighten the fuck up.

  • Insensitive use of the cause. The only one of these that half-works is the rain-forest one. It's something about how the segue was written.

  • Not only are these ads being passed around virally (Groupon's dream come true!) they actually DO raise awareness of the cause. People: wit and irony are the world we live in now. Face it. Or make your own videos. It's very inexpensive and it's the medium people actually pay attention to.

  • goodness...i thought they were funny. not the best, but not deserving of all this backlash.

i think their only real mistakes were not promoting the charities they work with beforehand so that everyone sees that this is tongue-in-cheek, and then the fact that they used an Indian mountain to depict Tibet. /fail

  • Hilarious!

  • LOL awesome Ad

  • My suggestion to you sensitive fucks. Get a sense of humor.

  • @SuicideCOMBS I love all of this "sense of humor" nonsense. Do you honestly laugh at everything? There's nothing you don't find funny? That is truly amazing. Kudos to you for being Carrot Top's #1 fan.

  • @SuicideCOMBS K then, imagine this. A huge storm comes in and destroys your house. May be your pet dog dies and you lose a leg. Then what we'll do is come up with an ad that basically says "Hey the storm was huge..but screw that..now you can buy a dvd of the movie Twister on the cheap at Groupon."

Then some fools will come in and defend our advertise and ask you to get a sense of humor. As I had said somewhere else, you'll only understand when it directly effects you.

  • can't believe how these ads go from a serious event to flatout silly tourist shit lol, plus Cuba go get a better job, damn washup actor lol

  • You libs/ecohuggers really need to have a sense of humor for once in your life. Smile! Thank you GROUPON I'm a new customer, lol

  • Free Panda!

  • Cuba you damn sell-out!

    Groupon, you STILL aren't funny!

    Barf.

  • Wouldn't saving the whales go against the laws of nature? Don't they deserve to go extinct? You know, survival of the fittest?

  • I'll support this

  • Tibet is a beautiful country with its Dharmic values

  • they arent for the issues.. that are making fun of it. thats why he said "its more fun watching them jumping...etc" its a commercial for saving money using groupon. thats why activists are upset over it.. personally i think its hliarious

  • CLASSIC!!! .....LMAO

  • These commercials are hilarious!

  • Hilarious. Even Greenpeace liked it. Suggestion: Don't take yourself so seriously.

  • they stole this idea from kia. they did the exact same idea about 4 or 5 years ago called, "save the greenbacks." except they did it much better.

    adland.tv/commercials/kia-save-greenbacks-1-2005-030-usa

  • Out of the 50+ people in office, only 1 of them buys coupons... and she's well known in the office for being a scrooge.

  • we can just throw Oprah into the ocean, that would increase the whale population by at least one...

  • I don't understand groupon. Why do I want to buy a coupon. I hate coupons and hate those using them.

  • I thought this one was funny too.

  • reprehensible!!!

  • im an art director and to me this ad doesnt even make sense. at the same time they are poking at a sensitive subject. so the seriousness outweighs the lame joke with no punchline. yeah these ads suck..all 3 that ive seen so far. they undermine consumers and think we will buy anything no matter what if its on sale. never disrespect the viewer!...by the way groupon...if youre looking to hire a new agency get at me cause i know the guys that concepted this will be fired..lol

  • The Japanese find this disturbing too. Who would spend time and money going out after whales and not harpooning them, taking 15 minutes to watch one die, then doing "research" and eating the "research?"

  • Groupon VP of marketing TO DO list:

    - Damage control: Increase PR budget by 200%

    - Fire my agency

    - Hire them back and fire them again

    - Slap the creative director

    - Update my linkedin profile

    - Forget about 2011

    - Call LivingSocial to see what’s up

  • $49 dollars? Wow, that's an amazing deal! I'm going to go through Groupon to go whale watching form now on!

  • Fuck all of you bleeding hearts these ads are hilarious. Lighten up.

  • The tibet ad was funny. This, not so much

  • This is in bad taste. Here's a daily deal site that actually donates and gives back to local causes winwinliving(dot)com

  • Why doesn't anyone understand irony any more??

  • Too bad the money you send to greenpeace goes towards funding communist rallies. Do the reasearch...communism is responsible for more death than anything...more than famine...more than disease...more than war.

  • @GrandFunker Trying to follow your fucked up logic is responsible for more dead brain cells in my head than anything...more than alcohol...more than drugs...more than huffing model airplane glue. Get a grip Captain...

  • @jefrokd Wow...are you serious? You can't refute what I said, so you try to insult me. Are you 12 years old? Look it up. When the communists hold rallies, they proudly list their sponsors, and you'd be surprised at how many of these environmental groups are there. My logic is obviously quite sound, you're too lazy to look things up.

  • @GrandFunker Regardless of your political beliefs, communism has not killed more people than polio or malaria. I have no idea if Greenpeace money goes to support communist groups but I do know that that the billions of people who are starving in this world greatly outwiegh the amount of people who have died due to a political belief. Don't make communism out to be your personal boogyman. Even 12 year olds know this.

  • @jefrokd Estimated number of communist deaths: 65 million in the People's Republic of China 20 million in the Soviet Union[3] 2 million in Cambodia 2 million in North Korea 1.7 million in Africa 1.5 million in Afghanistan 1 million in the Communist states of Eastern Europe 1 million in Vietnam[4] 150,000 in Latin America You're so worried about people starving...starvation is a key tactic used by communists. A 12 year old with a good history book knows this. Get a clue.
  • @GrandFunker Ok, you win Joseph McCarthy. I will be on high alert for the scary communist threat and you can go back to being Glenn Beck's chalkboard. Peace.

  • @jefrokd While you continue being an ignorant douchebag. Thank God for Joseph McCarthy...communism is evil...it's insidious...it is taking over...to the point where you've swallowed quite a dose of their propaganda.

  • I'm not offended at all, just embarrassed for Groupon. Their in-house creative folks would have done a better job! Either their ad agency dropped the ball or they were bullied into this schlock by someone internally.

  • His jerry maguire money must be getting low.

  • lol you've got to love the PC brigade that walks around waiting to be offended, get over it!!! Most of you people do nothing but shop.

  • @BrutalChickenn If they really wanted to help the issues, they would've took the $3M they just spent on these commercials and donated it.

  • @Modestmarvel thats exactly what I said. people are so convinced that if they make Vlogs about how pissed they are about the world or a montage video, that they are actually doing something. YOUR NOT. And neither are these ads. They are selling a product and flaunting their success. The joke is on us either way you slice it.

  • @Modestmarvel They are donating to all these causes.

  • @BrutalChickenn If they really wanted to help they would have, luckily they were busy making the rest of us laugh at you idiots instead.

  • @Modestmarvel If they really wanted to yea they would have, luckily they spent it on this commercial so that the rest of us can laugh at idiots like you.

  • @Modestmarvel That would be a horrible business decision.

  • @Modestmarvel then they would be out of business, dumbass

  • Groupon made this commercial with a tie in charity that actually goes to greenpeace, and helping the whales, so while this may be mean, maybe its mean to get peoples attention to the issues

  • more than inappropriate, cuba gooding jr. you disappoint me

  • grouproundup com has secret Groupon deals

  • The extinction of a species is funny.

  • Groupon. Before you saw this, you only hated their name.

  • rofl

  • Love that they are really making fun of LivingSocial indirectly....

  • These come off crass, don't you think? Maybe if the commercials mentioned the opportunity to donate to charitable causes on the Groupon site, it wouldn't seem so insensitive.
