thank you tklongarm! those other two comments is the most silly thing i ever heard! its obvious they have never seen gold city in person! (The best group in southern gospel music!)
They are indeed! Exceptional individually and as a group. Saw them a couple of months ago in Houston. Amazing. They hit a home run with the new bass. (and i'm very particular)
They are awesome! When I sang gospel music, my group opened for Gold City once. I also sang He's Still On the Throne in Jonathan's place with the other guys. They are spectacular.
i like the version of this song from the Gaither Homecoming Series video much better. Whoever the tenor singer is now obviously loves to hear the sound of his own voice since he doesn't know how to cut off his notes when he gets to take the lead on the last chorus.
They were singing older songs that Tim was used to singing cause he was filling in. In case you didn't know, most groups sing with tracks that have their voices in the background. He was probably just trying to make sure he covered up Jay's (the previous tenors) voice.
If you like that version better just say so. Why assume that he's arrogant? How many tens of thousands of notes do you think he sings a year? You don't think he hears himself enough. These are professionals and they know what does and doesn't sound good. I happen to like this version and the way he sings it better. Second, you can't fairly compare the two recordings. One is in a studio and the other off a video camera! What a moron.
Riley's Ab1 is awesome.
