  • my 99 explorer does that

  • or the fuel pump

  • Might be the choke...

  • my brother has the same truck. when its low on gas or cold, he sometimes has to roll it and start in neutral

  • fuel filter??

  • Well frosty9595 NOBODY CARES WHAT YOU THINK

  • you need a battery

  • It's a ford. What do you want

  • Definitely fuel pump. Try turning idler screw up

  • It could be a battery contact problem

  • @drvlms14 It clearly cranks fine. Dont give advice on stuff you dont know anything about.

  • Battery issue

  • I believe it fuel problem

  • Vacuum Regulator, it will eventually break for good

  • I had the same problem with my sonoma, and it ended up being a loose injector wire. I was running on 3 cylinders! but i guess that probably only is applicable if you have a V6.

  • I take gay pedal pumping requests! Just text me at 813-481-0620

  • Ford Ranger danger found on the road dead!!!

  • is it the iac?

  • fuel pump ?

  • IAC

  • my mom's ford windstar often does that when we go to the beach and leave it parked in the sand for a couple of hours

  • GUYS DO YOU SEE HE HAS IT ON PARK!

  • It is a common occurrence, at least on the 2.3L for these to do this and then randomly fix themselves. The issue seems to be with a worn and dying fuel pump. Unfortunately these fuel pumps also seem to die at the most random arse times too. Ex: I was driving my Mazda B2300 2.3L. Pulled into a gas station shut it down and tried to start it and it would not start. Dead fuel pump, was replaced and the erratic issue of not wanting to start has disappeared.

  • mine did that when my maf sensor was acting up

  • check the flux capacitor or maybe the air filter bearings

  • i had the same problem in my explorer 01, it happen to be old sparkplugs, bad oil and damaged throttle body. so yeah it was pretty neglected but not anymore.

  • IACV, either that or your charging system is shot.

  • listen bye the tank to see if you can hear the pump if you cant its most likly out

  • Shows a battery icon when it stopped...maybe you need a new battery? My Aerostar needed a new battery, something about a bad voltage in the battery? That's what my buddy said.

  • your an idiot... a bad battery could in no way shape or form cause that issue. If anything it wouldnt turn over. Please go be stupid somewhere else

  • Please shut up if you dont know anything bout motors.

Bad battery can prevent it from firing up even if it turns over if theres not enough juice in the battery to give a spark while its starting. Ofc doesnt apply to diesels, but many petrol cars have this issue, some more some less.

Please go be stupid somewhere else.

  • now your dumb. You do not get spark from the battery... I cant rember the part of hand but the battery does not give it spark. How do u bump start a stick car without a battery? no battery or a sht battery and it will still start. Why is that? where is the spark? seriously you need to be stupid somewhere else and quit acting like u know sht when u dont

  • @LowDexPro

Says the guy who doesnt know where the spark comes from.

    Please get off my internet.

  • @Grodinz o sorry i was a bit tired. Why dont u tell then smart guy? since your the god of cars... Tell me, without looking it up, which i will know if u do, What gives power to the spark plugs in a ford tritan v8? I might add that this isn't one of fords greatest ideas due to the issues it has been known to cause

  • IAC

  • My car did this too. Its a vacuum hose. I guarantee it. Notice how when the RPM's drop to where idle should be it gets rough and shakes, then stalls. Before you take it to a shop, check to be sure all your intake lines and vacuum hoses are connected.

  • mas air flow sensors, vacuum lines could be anything really. mine did this and costed about 1200 to fix. good ole classic vehicles dont need all that computer controlled crap

  • its gonna be the fuel pump..... you should get that checked before that happens again....

  • stupid peoples at 0:12 sec wee can see that his fuel is over im sorry for my english im swiss...

  • if its running with the foot petal then check out the vacuum manofold and see if any thing is popped off and check the little hex crew holding your idle on the throtal body

  • its ur fuel pump i wud say

  • wow with only 78k, miles a Jappennesse cars or tuck can do alot better then that!

  • that seems like a fuel pump issue to me

  • i had the same problem and then it stoped weird its a expedition right ? did you fix it ?

  • nope its a Ford Ranger and it fixed its self lol

  • yeah ford kinda always have issues

  • Honestly other then this i have had no issues and like i said its been fixed.

  • i think it would be the fuel pump mine did that. what year is your ranger?

  • @UGSAce Try checking the Idle Air Control. It's supposed to open and allow air past the throttle body so the truck can idle. For some reason these seem to get stuck on Fords. Though they seem to get stuck open in most cases which causes the truck to idle high while out of gear... high as in 2000-3000RPMs.

Mine would stick but it wouldn't happen all the time. It only seemed to do it during certain times of the year.

  • @UGSAce we had this happen once, wouldnt start all day, so i had it towed to shop, then it started right up for them, and never happened again.lol i added some fuel injector cleaner after though.

  • Thats the starter.

  • how could it be the starter? it started then stalled?

  • It could be a bad starter.

  • you need a new battery or an altanator

  • It looks like your idle air control.. same thing happened on my 98 f150

  • go ahead and keep driving that dodge how many times have you had to replace that tranny?

    like i said before

this ford must be so fuckin awesome it fixes it's self bet your Dodge cant do that.

  • ill keep driving my dodge till the day i die, unlike your shitty ass ford it'll probably make it.

  • yea but the transmission wont lol

  • A Chrysler 727 is one of the strongest automatics every built. it'll make it, andi cant hate on fords, im a big dodge and ford fan.

  • Not going to lie i really like those new rams

  • good call man :), my dad used to race with that transmission, it's a wonderfully built auto trans. I cant play favorites though, Ford, Chrystler, GM there all really good companies with there good and bad points. everyone of them has made a good car and a bad car.

  • Hey, nice truck man. I love all the companies, but Ford made the gt-40, the mustang and the f-150, and those are my 3 favorite cars ever. nice truck Fords rule -first on race day. :D

  • NOW YOUR TALKING

  • I have a ford, the battery light was always on, changed the alternator fixed it. 99 dollars for a new one, send the old one back and get 25 dollars for it :D

  • And, also its a 1999 Ford Ranger.

  • well it aint the tires lol

  • you would be correct

  • if the battery wont charge make sure you check the fuseable link

  • i have the same exact truck and it is the idle control vavle malfunctioning i went and had mine tested and it came out the same promblem everywhere i went the prices can range from 50-100 dollars depending on the brand u but i would buy the more expensive works sooo much better now fires up first turn-over

  • its a ford, whats new. :)

  • well this ford must be so fuckin awesome it fixes it's self bet your Chevy cant do that.

with that said i have not had this problem since i posted this video.

  • burrrn

  • Same thing happened to my 2003 with a 3.0

Turned out to be trash in 2 of the 6 injectors.

  • it's obviously your battery

  • Battery, dude

  • Possible Vacuum Hose problem, Same happened to a truck I had and it wouldnt idle until it got fixed

  • chek your batry connection

  • It sounds like you've got a faulty fuel pump.

  • i thought it was just the idle motore

  • I have an 02 ranger with the 4.0. its done this a few times too. It only happens like once a year though. The longest duration it wouldnt start was like 3 min. I dont know what tweaks out in the truck and i dont care until it becomes a permanent problem...

  • yea i have not had the probem in a long time i think i just might need a new fuel filter cause i just rolled 90k today.

  • ur suppose to replace the fuel filter every 60,000 on those trucks... and u might need new spark plugs.. and injector cleaner

  • Thanks, and i just hit 90k im pretty much getting ready to replace a lot of things after this wheeling trip in Nov.

1st thing getting replaced next week is lower ball joints

  • could be fuel pump. if u used that gumout engine treatment in ur gas tank that shit seems to always 2 fuck up my stuff cause weird problems

  • Adjust your idle, clean or replace your IAC Valve and if you have one your EGR

  • Cold outside?

  • air in the fuel line. no biggie

  • i had a ford exployer sport that did the same thing and it was a fuel pump

  • Well thanks for the reply but its not doing it anymore it only happened Once. i think it was just bad gas?

  • Your IAC is most likely on its way out, it is located on the throttle body.

  • vacuum leak

  • Well thanks for the reply but its not doing it anymore it only happened Once. i think it was just bad gas?

  • PEE ON THE BATTERY

  • You first.

  • Ok ill pee on the battery first, then you pee on the battery 2nd

  • make sure you record it.

  • ok ill record then of my peeing on a car battery, then you pee on your battery and record it

  • ok ill be waiting to see this video.

  • OK i did it, i took a video of me peeing on a battery of a rental car, ill upload the video soon, now ur go after u see it.,,then another video of me peeing on a car battery of my friends ford truck

  • Ok ill be waiting for the link.

  • stfu you jap

  • I had the same problem with my F-350. The ECU was damaged

  • thats because its a ford

  • You mean you couldn't come up with something more original then that?

  • here we go with the Ford v. Chevy...my dad is one of them Ford lovers...me? I don't care because I drive whatever runs and gets me from point A to point B in a safe fashion!

  • Check you mass air flow sensor

  • your ecu has a problem(the brian of the vehical)

  • your ecu has a problem(the brian of the vehical)

  • What was the problem with the Explorer or Ford Ranger????

  • Idle air valve is sticking. Trust me, it will do it again.

  • I agree, my ford taurus does this sometimes, but it will start and idle right at 500 rpm until i tap the gas pedal, then it kicks on up to 1500 like normal. It's under warranty, so when i get the time I plan to take it in. There's a temporary fix though, you can remove the IAV and lubricate the valve and that should keep it going for awhile.

  • I think you're right. My '99 Windstar had the same problem. I believe it was under warranty.

    Silly Ford.

  • my dads focus had the same problem so i turned up the idleing screw on the throttle and then when it fixed its self it idle really high so i turned it back down now it works fine

  • What was the problem? bad gas maybe?

  • what type truck and year?

  • 2002 Ford Ranger but like i said the problem seems to have gone away.

  • Is your check engine light on/come on intermitently? If not, could be fuel filter... if it is on, def. a MAF, or IAC

  • Nope check engine light has never come on

  • Could be the MAF sensor??

  • I Dont know i have not had a problem with it since i posted this video lol.

  • its the IAC Valve . idle control valve just change it

  • x2 agreeed lol

  • x3...

  • imeant to reply but check your IAC

  • a taco is a little out of my price range. I'm only 18

  • Could be the cold start sensor not setting the ECU to a cold starting state. Either get it repaired or just hold the gas in a little for a minute or two once it fires. Dont rev up and down, hold it steady.

  • rev her hard !
