  • i booked teenage head, dishrags, pointed sticks, subs, doa etc .. god we had a great time

  • i lead the first "all girl" punk band in canada, and spent a lot of time booking in gigs with Subhumans, DOA, pointed sticks and bands from TO in a club i helped open in edmonton with Randy- The suicide club.

Read all about it in my book, and if anyone has any images or old band posters, writings etc to contribute, contact me.

Ya were Denizens of the Deep as Rotten says, and nothing like these "posers" now.

    We were real

  • im the blond in the front. My band played later that week, i think

  • what was the name of the band you were in, artistickone?

  • Art showed me this one while over for pizza in the run-up to the Richards gig. Sadly we never got around to actually rehearsing it as the emphasis was on the album being released that night ..damn.

  • I remember them at the Commodore in '80, during the summer fo the beer strike when the Commodore had lots.

Them Payola$ Tin Twist and some band called Black Flag.

Took a year off my liver that night.

  • I remember TYC played at my high school[Hillside]in 80' great show, turned me on to punk. never looked back

  • Yeah, it was filmed at the old @Vancouver Show' studio - I was there for the filming...hey, that was pretty hi-tech for the time...heh!

  • The 'studio version' I'm talkin' about...

  • the "video" version of AUTOMAN was shot in the small studio at CKVU Television on Second Ave in Vancouver, as was DOA's WORLD WAR 3, the Dishrags PAST IS PAST and Pointed Sticks...forgot the song titles. Subhumans also recorded SLAVE TO MY DICK there, but it was never completed. Tha master tapes are in my basement.

  • Oh ya...and the Payolas CHINA BOYS

  • If you can find the studio video,I'd love to see it! Thank you

  • Art Bergman is a rock genius. An honour to have seen/heard/shared a joint with him.

  • This was a great single I got in my Hawaii Ep back in the day. I did not know there was a video. Fantastic!

  • There actually was a studio-shot video for "Automan," a real low budget affair that looked like it was filmed in the local cable channel facility. The band mimes to song mostly without instruments, props include a single office chair, some members appearing duct-taped and bound, or with wires and circuit boards tied to their appendages. Hilarious!
