I've been going to Sox games since the early '60s, and it was not at all uncommon to hear Chicagoans refer to the old park as "Kaminsky." That was especially true of people living on the South Side, which is where Obama lived.
No TelePrompter. Not even a prepared script. If your thinking about Wrigley Field in comparison to another baseball fields its bound to happen. If your talking about baseball parks in the context of parks you could slip and and say Wrigley park. This mistake shows that he is sharing a genuine thought not some bullshit P.R. story. Its the same as when people think too hard about being politically correct. They don't want to gender stereotype so worried about saying policeman they say police pers
Come on people. This man is the President of 57 states, you can't expect him to know a 100 year nationally famous building in a city he used to live in. Next thing you know you want him to prove he was actually born here.
@bridgeportchicago I just mentioned South Siders, not Polish South Siders. I have south side Irish friends whose fathers say it that way. No need to be so defensive.
@CyberianHusky74 i have lived on the southside for 62 years and have never heard it said like that, not once; not by accident by any race or nationality.
There is such a double standard in the media. If Sara Palin or Dan Quayle claimed the White Sox as their favorite, then said "Kaminsky Field".....we'd STILL be hearing about it a year later. If Obama does it? Media covers it up.

Actually, calling it "Kaminski" is a common South Sider way of pronouncing Comiskey.
And his birth certificate is right between his index and ring fingers. To use a popular phrase out of the GOP handbook circa 2000... "Get over it."

Komensky is an avenue in Chicago. Confusing Comiskey and Komensky is a clear sign of a Chicago NOOB!
