At 2:08 I can see how his right hand slips into the fluffy white thing in his shirt to grab the bird. It only makes it even more impressive because these tricks require execution. I still have no idea how he hides the freakin thing in his hand so long while he's twirling the napkin.
You said, quote: "I have been a magician for the past 38 years". You are not a magician, magic isn't real, it's so obvious that it's all just computers!
@DarthHater100 its so obvious that its all just computers? then why dont you do it? you have a computer at your house.. and also explain to me how this utilizes computers?
@DarthHater100 You have to be daft to think that this trick has ANYTHING at all to do with computers, I'm sorry. Lance Burton has been doing this act since the 70s... it's all just practice and sleight of hand. Go watch a live magic show before you make such an ignorant comment.
@5ilverhalo YOU are the one who is ignorant. Magic is not real, no matter how much you practice. So I guess you think Harry Potter is real too. Grow up!
And even if he did do his act in the 70s, he must have been using some sort of robotic or mechanical birds with batteries, but no one uses those any more. Now (and in this video) it is all done with computers. MAGIC ISN"T REAL.
@DarthHater100 Are you freaking serious? :/ Nobody said this was magic... it's an illusion, a "trick" - sleight of hand and hidden pockets and a LOT of practice. He has to perform this live in front of judges; the video isn't edited. He's just a very talented ilusionist - as in, one who creates illusions that look like magic to the audience.
@DarthHater100 darthhater is an internet troll that also goes by the name shockofgod he says magic isn't real yet thinks a talking snake and zombies and global floods are real.and that telling an invisible man that you love him (telepathically) will make it so you live forever.
@alltiedup217 You are the one who is a troll and you have no proof I'm SOG. Why would someone go around Youtube saying stuff just to make people mad? And BTW, God is not magic. Magic isn't real. You could say the same thing about evolution. Magic isn't real, but supposedly monkeys magically became people. The fact is, there is no proof and evidence that atheism is accurate and correct, so no matter how hard a mental-midget like yourself tries, you can never win that fight.
@eastcstsrfr Me to. But instead of doves I used butterflies. try to watch PILIPINAS GOT TALENT - AMAZING BUTTERFLY ACT by ALLAN "ALAKIM" de PAZ he is the 1st magician who used butterfly in stage magic.

@DarthHater100 You obviously have no idea how old this video of Lance is do you? It is from the very early 80's There is no computer generated images on this video or any other at that time. You also obviously have never seen a magician perform live before.
@RS1963 You are trying to tell me they didn't have computers in the 1980s? You're a moron, of course they did. Live magicians obviously use computer projected holograms of some sort. MAGIC ISN'T REAL. What are you, like 5 years old?
@DarthHater100 You are the moron. The point is those are real doves. You have no idea what you are talking about. Plus I have been a magician for the past 38 years. You on the other hand haven't even been try behind he ears for two weeks as of this date. So any other really asinine responses you want to make?
@RS1963 So you think magic is real and you are a real magician with magical powers? Ok Merlin--coo, coo. I think you've been living in a land of make-believe for the past 38 years. Nobody has magical powers, it's all computers and holograms like in the movies. Even my son knows that it's all a show and not real. You have to be frickin' RETARDED not to see that. BTW, what does "haven't even been try behind he ears" mean?
@DarthHater100 Did I say that? No. But obviously from this post and the one before, you obviously enjoy reading things into others post that aren't there or implied. That was a typo by the way. It should have been "You haven't even been dry behind the ears for two weeks. If you don't understand that oh well.
Respond to this video.. B.T.W. name one magician you have seen live that uses holograms. Just one. I'm sure if you even try you will be sadly mistaken. Of course there is no such thing as real magic. But magicians do not use what you think they do. That is as long as they aren't either David Blaine or Criss Angel. Those two are the ones that do in fact resort to such trickery on television.
@DarthHater100 It's not computers and holograms... It's distraction, sleight of hand, hidden pockets, and very well-trained doves. The doves are hidden under his clothes in various pockets - this is a high-skill trick that takes years of practice to perform so smoothly.
@5ilverhalo That's stupid. Why would he go through all the trouble of hidden pockets and training doves and years of practice when he can just use a robotic bird or use computer graphics. Nobody does special effects in movies with hidden pockets. Its all computers and animatronics. You sir, need an education. Besides, you can tell just from looking at it that it's just a computer trick. It's so OBVIOUS. What are you, blind? It's some of the worst CGI I've ever seen.
@DarthHater100 Yes, CGI is always used in movies. But this isn't a Hollywood movie and Lance Burton is not an actor. He's a highly skilled illusionist who's been tweaking this act for years - look him up on Wikipedia. He won the "Grand Prix" award with this dove act, with a LIVE performance in front of a panel of judges. He used to perform this act live at the Monte Carlo in LA as well.
@DarthHater100 Argh, I feel dumb for arguing with someone like you. Next time, just do a tiny bit of research before you write it off as "computers and animatronics." Illusionists have been around for years... they use mirrors, sleight of hand, trap doors, hidden pockets, etc... they've been around before TV and video even existed. Just go look it up, discussion over.
@DarthHater100 You are an idiot. Have you ever even seen a magician live? I doubt you have even left your mother's house very much in all the years you have been alive. Your type is what makes the internet suck. Why? Because you don't care that you are worse than a moron. You more than likely are lazy don't work, and are sponging off of the taxpayers in whatever country that you live in.
@Jorbz150 I didn't say anything about scamming, and I think it is good to expose things to help new magicians on You Tube. And do you know what... Lance wouldn't mind a bit... email him and ask him if you don't believe me.

This magic act is about slight of hand lance is so good at it it is hard to see but its quite clear when he is getting the three candlesticks watch his hand and his suit.
This looks like it was shot at the "Hacienda" in Las Vegas, his showroom before the Monte Carlo. Very classy act, Lance is unlike any other performer - you leave his show feeling like you now saw a "real" magician.
Wow this coming from danhenryt who we really know who absolutely has no social life except making stupid comments on youtube. My guess is your purely jealous of Lance Burton because he can do great magic and you can't do anything except making others feel just like you. Which is miserable.
As far as I know he's never stopped with the doves. I'm pretty sure he even shows this very performance in his show still, along with a few new dove routines.
I showed this video to a friend, and then we clicked on a Jeff McBride video (neither of us had ever heard of or seen McBride). Lance made watching McBride an even bigger let-down than watching McBride alone.
To the person who said it's not Burton's magic that's impressive, but rather his charisma, that is certainly a part of it. McBride has a lot of "Holy crap, I'm amazing" on his face. Burton is, "relax and enjoy this."
@Schattenbolt ummm wow I think you completely missed Jeff's performance. He is just as artful as Lance, but they both have completely different styles.
That is what makes this act to great. Each individual illusion is, in theory, not hard, but the seamless sequence and beautiful execution, makes it beyond compare.
@mobytoss The birds are quite easy. Just standard loads in cloth pockets from the body and the jacket. Really well done though. In case you don't know, doves compress up really much smaller than you'd think. Live spring feathers!
The candles are variations on the vanishing/appearing cane. Spring steel which starts compressed small and expands into a tube in the flash of an eye.
I watched lances act one week ago.. and the guy is still amazing!!! I had to go after seeing criss angels bad magic show.. Thank you so much lance you are the best!!

Great great... Amazing... I lke this guy very much. At first I was sure he was the best magician ever but at last I realize that he his much more a man with a lot of charism and style more than a great magician. If you don't believe me... Try it watch him carefully and try to think about if it's his magic that make you enjoy watching or his look of a man who is sure of himself and looks like a very clean person. I'm sure he is a great magician, but not the best magician ever.
that glove tuning into a dove mid air was simply awesome!!! most magicians turn side ways, but he did it without hiding that right hand even once!!! awesome stuff!
Okay, after hours of watching this guy, I've finally figured out how he does this stuff. Very damn well, that's how! (Confession: it really didn't take me "hours" ... you can learn much faster than that how great this guy is in his work.)
